PART 1
Importance of teamwork
From the scenario of the Thai government and various organization and teams from all over the
world rescuing the 12 soccer boys and their coach from Thai land who were trapped in the cave
different teamwork importance was displayed. They include; new ideas where the Thai
Government and various organization and teams from all over the world revealed fresh idea on
how to rescue the soccer team and their coach and the new ideas they shared helped to rescue the
team from the cave. Each team had its unique ideas due to the different skill sets, ages,
background and the level of experience (Packalen & Bhattacharya, 2015). At the scenario the
teams worked together without the fear of criticism on the ideas contributed by anyone; every
idea was heard and kept into consideration.
Teamwork improved efficiency where the teams worked together to split difficult tasks into
manageable jobs and which helped them to achieve their goals faster. Teamwork helped the team
to identify each other’s skills and knowledge. For example, the mapping use of technology and
other specializations then the team was divided into groups which help in secure tackling of the
rescue task since the group was divided according to specialty.Teamwork enhanced better quality
services where the whole rescue process could not be handled by Thai land government alone
because it could be too much work for them, but when the collaborated with other organizations
and teams from all over the world and became one team the rescue became way much more
straightforward since everyone offered their best. Teamwork led to the achievement of the rescue
mission. (Khan & Al Mashikhu 2017)

Teamwork resulted in higher morale where the Thai Government and other organizations and
teams from all over the world felt better when they worked together as a team, and they gained
morale since they motivated each other. When teamwork was prioritized by the teams they felt
other people valued their work, they also thought that they could contribute to a successful result
and that they had something unique to offer, the boost of their morale resulted to the
achievement of their goals (Erdoğan & Çelik, 2016).
More Learning Opportunities was enhanced through teamwork where the Thai Government
and other organizations and teams from all over the world worked together, and it allowed seeing
the failures and success of each other in a supportive way, which allowed all teams to learn from
each other without experiencing risks. For example when the problem of lacking the map the
teams worked together to solve the problem, and in the whole process, the Thai government
learned the importance of having some things that never seemed important before. Teamwork
enhanced the sense of accomplishment through the encouragement the teams got from each other
made the accomplishment much sweeter; the encouragement motivated each confidence and
purpose that helped in the success of the operation.
Teamwork enhanced a faster innovation through a combined collaboration of Thai Government
and other organizations and teams from the whole world. Innovation was faster as compared to
when the Thai Government could have worked alone (Hope, 2016).
Teamwork enhanced stronger working relationship when the Thai Government and
organization and teams from all over the world worked together as a team which builds a strong
relationship between them and the relationship grew to include friendship and mutual trust which
was under the right circumstances. The strong working relationship was beneficial since it
generated support, communication, co-operation and motivation (Umoh, 2016).

TEAMWORK 5
What made international teamwork effective
According to Dinh and Salas (2017), the following are some of the reasons that made the
international teamwork to be effective, they include; Overcoming the mutual knowledge problem
since before the mission began all teams were advised that the mission was neither for self-
benefit nor the way it supposed to prove who was better than whom it was supposed to be a
teamwork so as to be able to rescue the 12 soccer boys and their coach who were trapped
underneath the cave (Katzenbach & Smith 2015). Another reason for the success is through
understanding each other as the teams worked together without fear of criticism from each other.
They understood the importance of each other as a team (Salas, Shuffler, Thayer and Bedwell &
Lazzara, 2015).
The rescue team's success was attributed to the recognition that we don’t all work in the same
way as the rescue teams realized that they all have different ideas on how to tackle situations
since the teams present were from different countries, so the team came together with shared
common organizational characteristics and recognized corporate values which lead to a common
idea to tackle the operation (Adey, 2018).

The role of team learning played in the success of the rescue mission
Team learning is when people or teams collaborate to achieve a mission (Li, Lin & Liu 2018).
When the teams worked together, they succeeded together of which resulted in the strong
working relationship between them, and the relationship grew to include friendship and mutual
trust which was under the right circumstances. The strong working relationship was beneficial
since it generated support, communication, co-operation, and motivation, they understood each
other and worked without criticizing each other's idea this lead to the success of the rescue
mission since their ideas helped in faster innovation of strategies to rescue the 12 soccer boys
and their coach who were trapped underneath the cave.
Conclusion
Teamwork is people working together to achieve a common goal, like the teamwork between the
Thai Government and other organizations and teams from all over the world. People who work
together gain more benefits as an organization or a company, students also acquire some skills
when they engage in teamwork in the institutions which prepares them for their future careers.

PART 2
Reflection on teamwork
Introduction
The task is going to cover the lessons learned from teamwork throughout the entire course and its
effectiveness in my future career.
Lessons learned from teamwork
The following are the lessons learned from teamwork experience from the course;
embrace your team self because People are different, and each person acquires his/her unique
personality, and in most cases when people come together and form a team most probably they
don't know each other, and also in most cases characteristics discovered when working as a team
are not displayed while working alone, this a good thing since your contribution to the team
helps in the success of the teams objectives. Teamwork demands cohesiveness for the success of
any given mission. It calls for the commitment of the team members to enhance the achievement
of the stipulated goals and objectives.
Teamwork demands the consideration of the opinions of the members to enhance the feeling of
the sense of belonging among the team members which is a very crucial aspect as far as the
success of the team is a concern. There are usually conflicts when individuals work in a team;
hence they should seek for the effective ways of conflict resolution to enhance the success in the
achievement of the set goals and objectives.
