Self perception about the teamwork:
In the course work of self perception in about the team formation there are several
questions given. Based on the answers on those questions there , my role at team can be
evaluated. The attributes of my personality has played a significant role while I was working in a
team.
Project Context:
I was working in a team of five members for developing a project. The project was to
make a railway reservation system using a particular technology. The main challenge of that
project was the requirements were not clear from the instructor’s side. The changing requirement
was leading to the changing of the environment for developing the project, and from my side the
challenge was that I had very little knowledge about the technology on which the project was
supposed to be made.
My contribution as a team member:
The main challenge was, as mentioned before, that I was not much familiar with the
technology related to the development of the project. I took the challenge to learn the new
technology along with that contributes my newly gained knowledge in the team for developing
the project. The person I was working with belongs from different sections of the class, so our
team was diverse. The requirements were changing dynamically but we were able to work as a
team and deliver the project within the given time. Our team was diverse in nature, so there were
some conflicts arrived while developing the project. However, we were able to resolve the
problem and that indicates a good team work.

Negativity in my personalities:
I have tried to maintain a good team spirit, but somehow in some situations my good
behavior and the positive support for the ideas of some of my team mates had cost our team to
work on unnecessary codes. The changing requirements were already killing our time, so
wasting the time for experimenting on new but unnecessary ideas were not good things to carry
out at that time. I easily loose interests on the certain things and possibilities which were
important for the project and did not pay attention to those ideas. I think if I could become more
attentive to those possibilities our system could be more improvised one.
Positivity in my personality:
The whole team was working under the pressure as the schedule was tight for us. The
other team members were working hard which makes me more influenced to work harder. I was
very careful about my activity and not making mistake in my work. The sense of delivering my
contribution in the team in a perfect way had left me under pressure, which was not beneficial
me, but it worked well for the team. Sometimes my teammates became pessimistic about the
future progress of the project. At that moment I tried to influence them positively and convinced
them to believe on the team spirit .During some critical coding compilation error the team
depends on my knowledge of problem solving, I was the one who represented my team during
the presentation of the progress of our project to the instructors. I used to give the feedback of
the activities of my team mates and tried to appreciate their good work. On the other hand, I used
to want my activity feedback from the other team mates as I believe that helped me to improve
myself.

My approach towards the work in the team:
My team was diverse and all other team members were not familiar with me. I used to
talk to team during the break hours. The main topic of the discussion was of course the
development of our project, but sometimes the conversation also includes about knowing each
other’s background, culture, likings and disliking. These kinds of conversations helped us to
bond as a team mate and work as a team. Sometime for the development of the project and
understanding the logic I did take help from my seniors who were not included in the group. This
decision of mine was unacceptable for some of my team members and they were not very
pleased. However, later everyone realized that my decision was not wrong as the tips from our
seniors worked well on the system. While working in the project I always tried think of
implementing new things that can be included in the reservation system portal. Regarding this I
asked my team mates to share the ideas.
My way of thinking and working:
As mentioned earlier the developing environment of the project was challenging as the
requirements were not fixed and my domain knowledge on the technology for developing the
project was not sufficient. I was learning the technology and contributing my knowledge in
developing the project simultaneously. The situation was rigorous for me, but I was interested to
include some uncommon feature in our project to make it extra ordinary and we had to work on
extra module to develop that change. During the day before the final presentation our team leader
was not present and we were called for the progress presentation and I took the lead to present
my team and demonstrated the progress of the system. My natural urgency helped others to do
the further and final modification after that presentation as the final submission of the project
was very next day.
