2INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY BASED SOLUTION
Innovative technology based solutions for Pedestrian Crash
The Pedestrian crash relates to incidents that cause various injuries and even deaths of
Pedestrians while crossing the roads. It results into emotional as well as financial loss for the
families who get affected by such incidents. Hence, the innovative technology based solution
that has been decided to reduce or prevent the Pedestrian crash is Ground Level traffic light.
With the help of this technology, the Pedestrians will become aware of traffic status while
they are crossing the roads (Zolock et al., 2016). The street junctions or busy traffic areas will
be installed with traffic lights in the road so that the Pedestrians could easily view the traffic
signals.
This technology will be beneficial for the pedestrians who are addicted with
smartphones and do not bother to take a look at the traffic signal while crossing the streets.
LED strips will be installed in pavements at pedestrian crossings so that it is easily visible to
people while crossing the streets and at the same time surfing their smartphone (Djahel et al.,
2015). The LED strips will glow with green or red color depending on the traffic light signals
so that the pedestrians could be aware of when to cross or when not to cross the street.
Innovative technology based solutions for Multiple Vehicle Crash
Mostly, the reason for multiple vehicle crash is identified to be blind spot which
means a vehicle is not visible from mirror of another vehicle. It has been found that the blind
spot results into multiple vehicle crash mainly while turning or changing lanes. The vehicle in
front is not able to view a vehicle through the mirror and it results into crash incidents.
Hence, a Blind-spot warning system will help to prevent such types of crashes. The system
will provide an audible or visible notification to the driver of a vehicle in case there is any
vehicle in blind spot (Sandt et al., 2015). The system will be also able to provide an

additional warning to the driver in case turn signal is being used and there is a vehicle beside
in another lane.
The system could be installed in heavy transport vehicles like trucks and buses as
there is less option in such vehicles to find a vehicle in the blind spot. The drivers of heavy
vehicles are often unable to detect a smaller vehicle behind or beside while changing lanes or
turning at signals. Thus, the system will be beneficial for vehicles to prevent multiple vehicle
crash incidents.
Innovative technology based solutions for Single Vehicle Crash
The Single vehicle crash mainly occurs due to negligence, inability or even fatigue of
drivers which results into accidents. This crash type refers to the accidents that affects only a
single vehicle and others are not involved in case of accidents. This type of crash could be
prevented by implementing active safety systems within vehicles. The most innovative
technology that could be used for preventing Single vehicle crash incidents is Adaptive cruise
control system. The cost for implementing such system is much higher than other systems
however, it is very effective and efficient (Viereckl et al., 2015). The system will comprise of
lasers, radar and cameras or combination of those technology so that a constant distance
could be maintained automatically between two vehicles. The system will provide the drivers
with ease so that a safe following distance could be maintained automatically. In case, the
traffic slows down the system will automatically put the vehicle to stop or make it slow and
will put the vehicle to speed automatically when the traffic is normal. Hence, the system will
ease the driving experience of such vehicles installed with the technology and the driver have
to pay little attention while driving in heavy traffic.

4INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY BASED SOLUTION
Innovative technology based solutions for Car Text Crash
From the data on road accidents, it is evident that texting while driving also has a
major place as a reason for such incidents. Smartphones are associated in our everyday life as
well as activity and messaging while driving is one of the most common concern that the
people have to take into consideration to prevent major accidents. Hence, Voice Assisted
System will help to suffice the texting requirements of people while driving the car. The
system will help to access the incoming messages on their phones and replying to them if
necessary. The system will provide the drivers with benefits so that they do not have to put
their hands off the steering while driving (Broggi et al., 2016). The drivers will be supported
while driving with the help of this system so that they can concentrate on the road rather than
focusing on their phone. The system will provide some default messages so that the drivers
could easily respond to the incoming messages while driving car. The drivers could also
easily get in touch with their family or near ones while driving without leaving the steering
and distracting concentration from the road.
Innovative technology based solutions for Car Theft
The most innovative technology for preventing car theft is Passive Immobilizer which
is a system that features an ignition key with a microchip installed in it. The key will require
the chip so that it could turned on and without the key, car could not be started. The system is
will become a common technology and will be able to reduce car thefts in future (Popescu et
al., 2017). The system will be able to help the owners to ensure safety of their cars as it could
not be started without the ignition key. The key serves as the medium for starting system of
the car however a major drawback is that the owners have to go to dealer in case the key is
lost. The system will also alert the owner in case there is any intruder trying to access system
of the car. The system will provide an alarm warning to the owners so that they could take
necessary action immediately.
