Hence, the hospitality industry is fully based on providing appropriate services to their customers
and visitors, but even though they have to implement the latest technology so that it will save the
extra. With the development of advance technology, the trend of hotels has also been changed,
now then hotels are doing all their marketing and promotional activities with the help of
technology, and thus the hotels are generating revenues and profit.
According to (Maheshwari, 2020) technology used by the hotel leaves a great impact on
the customer, the first experience of a customer is when they visit the website of a particular
industry, so it is in the hands of the hotel how they manage their website it includes – pictures of
the hotel and reviews posted by the past visitors apart from this, then the website must remain
updated, and it must show that how many rooms are occupied and how many are empty so that it
will be beneficial for the employees so the knowledge of technology and how to use such
technology in the proper manner will boost the reputation and goodwill of the hotel in result the
profit of the hotel will get increased.
Impact of technology on the revenue of the hospitality industry
As per (Rasoolimanesh and et.al, 2019), Basic knowledge of technology in the hospitality
industry will not only help the employees, but it is beneficial for the visitors and guests. With
the help of technology, hotels can provide advanced security to their guests; apart from this, they
can safeguard the necessary information and data of the visitors such as their identification
proofs, their personal information, address, mobile number etc. apart from this, for identification
hotels can use biometric authentication which is known to be the most secure method to know
the identity of the customer which is currently available if the hotels are well versed with the
knowledge of technology, so they know the value of safety and protection of their customers and
visitors.
To channelise the advanced and modern technology, they provide room entry to the
guest, which is fingerprint activated due to this the cases of theft will get decreased and the
customers will also get the high level of protection. But on the other hand, according to
(Kansakar and et.al, 2019), there are some disadvantages of technology also there; if the
customers don't like the website of the hotel, they may choose another hotel; thus, the hotel may
lose their potential customers. Apart from this, some past visitors or guest my put negative
reviews about the hotel; as a result, the customer may choose another hotel.

Impact of employee turnover in the hospitality industry

As per the views of (Milka and et.al, 2017), the main reason behind increased employee
turnover is that they may not get growth opportunities where they are working apart from this;
another big reason for increased employee turnover is that they may felt that they are getting less
salary as per their work, means they are working more than their salary and wages due to which
they always look for the job change, and they do not put the focus on their current in result it will
increase the employee turnover. High employee turnover shows that the employees are not
satisfied with their work.
As stated by (Dwesini N.F. 2019), It has been found that many employees leave their job
due to the bad behaviour of their senior employees and management. Rudeness at the workplace
is another important reason for employee turnover; if the senior management and reporting
manager behave nicely with the employees and guide them whenever they face any kind of
difficulty, this will decrease the employees turnover, but on the other hand, when the reporting
manager is rude and dominating no one employee wants to work under them, and this will lead
to the boom in the employee turnover.
In agreeing with this, (Rasheed and et.al, 2020) stated that when the employee has to
face a lot of work pressure at the workplace, they may not get satisfaction and always try to get
rid of such jobs so it is must for the company that they provide work-life balance to the
employees and they do not get forced to choose between their life and work. So the major
reason for employee turnover is that the employees are not able to meet their expectations from
the job; thus, they did not get satisfaction.
As per (Holston and et.al, 2018), an organisation must not choose such employees who
are not eligible and qualified for the job because when they do not have any relevant skills to
perform the job one or another day will leave the job; hence the employee turnover will get
increased.
By hiring the wrong employee, neither the employee nor the management will get
satisfaction, and also it will affect the productivity and profitability of the organisation. In
arguing with this (Stamolampros and et.al, 2019) has brought a light on the training and
development of the employees. If the employees are not able to give their best and if they are
facing any kind of issues at the workplace which is related to the work, they must provide
appropriate training so that they not get irritated from work, and they may improve their work

appropriate training so that they not get irritated from work, and they may improve their work

capacity so by providing coaching and training, management can improve the performance of the
employees, and this will bring satisfaction in them.
Relationship between technological development and high employee turnover
As per the view of (Harden and et.al, 2018), technology helps the organisation to decrease
employee turnover; hence the advanced technology will decrease the stress of the employees and
also save their time. With the use of high-tech technology, any organisation can drastically
reduce the workload and frustration of the employees.
Like in the hotels front manager has to do a lot of things they have to assist the guest
along with this they have to manage the data of the visitors and guest, and in the absence of
proper technology, the work becomes difficult for the employee to manage a lot of things at the
same time in result they quite the job. But on the other hand, if the hotel is using proper
technology, they have provided proper software to the employees, so their work will become
easy, and they can manage them on time along with this they may serve the guest more patiently.
So there is a direct relationship between the employees and technology.
According to (Jnaneswar and et.al, 2019) hotel industry is the one who receives a lot of
different currencies, so the finance department has to deal with different currencies and therefore
they must need advanced technology which makes their work easy, so the advanced technology
has definitely helped the organisation to decrease the employee turnover. In agreeing with this,
(Carlson and et.al, 2017) suggested that owing to advanced technology, they can easily review
and monitor the performance of the employees; if any employee performs well and doing their
work with full potential and ability, they get various performance appraisal in the form of bonus,
perks, incentives and promotion this will increase the morale and confidence of the employees,
and they will put more efforts.
On the other hand, those employees who are not giving their best also get training and
coaching so that they also perform well; thus, the employee turnover may decrease. On the one
hand (Kim and et.al, 2018) said that the development of technology decreases the potential of the
employees, and they become lazy, they can't don any work in the absence of technology they
employees, and this will bring satisfaction in them.

In arguing with this (Moquin and et.al, 2019) states that technology development helps
the employees to track the room status as the entire hotel industry is based on providing services
only due to technology employee get an idea about the room status if rooms are not in proper
condition employees may check them, and with the help of technology their work becomes easy,
and it will decrease the employee turnover so the technological development will not lead to the

CHAPTER 3: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Type of research
Research is of two different types, which are qualitative and quantitative research methods; the
quantitative research methods is the research type in which organisational performance is being
evaluated in the numeric and statistic perspective. This is an effective way for research but is
limited to the achieved targets and is limited in analysing the present working capabilities.
Whereas the qualitative research method is an effective way of evaluating the present working
capabilities and, at the same time, tend to analyse Hilton Hyde's performance from its previous
performances as well (Mohajan, 2018). Qualitative data is chosen for the analysis in this report
because through this research approach; large organisational information can be evaluated with
several theoretical aspects. With a detailed understanding, the qualitative research method is also
very effective in terms of understanding the type of information which is being analysed in the
research methodology.
Research Philosophy
Investigation philosophy is the section in which the research is not being discussed in
great detail but instead is being used for evaluating the different factors for the research. It is of a
different type, which includes different factors like positivism, interpretivism, realism and
interpretivism. In which pragmatism is the data collection method which tends to utilise large
data and also consist of qualitative and quantitative data, whereas positivism is used for large
data and is used for qualitative data (Ngozwana, 2018). On the other hand, interpretivism is
being used for the investigation of small data in-depth and due to which interpretivism research
philosophy is chosen in this research philosophy because of its in-depth analyses of qualitative
hotel.
In arguing with this (Moquin and et.al, 2019) states that technology development helps

being used for the investigation of small data in-depth and due to which interpretivism research
philosophy is chosen in this research philosophy because of its in-depth analyses of qualitative

data achieved. Other prime factors in the selection of interpretivism are that it was highly
effective in terms of analysing the non-numerical data through which analysis of concepts and
experience can be done effectively.
Research approach
This is an important aspect of the research methodology, which is consists of two
different approaches, which include approaches like deductive and inductive research approach.
In which the research deduction tends to represent that when the premises if true, then the
appropriate conclusion must also be true. On the other hand, the induction approach tends to
represent that known premises are used for generating untested conclusions, but on the other
hand, abduction tends to represent that known premises are used for generating tested
conclusions. Inductive data will be chosen because of its effective analytic of the qualitative data,
with that inductive approach is imperative for the development of theories over the aspects of the
chosen area (McPherson, Reese and Wendler, 2018).
Research methodological choice.
The research tends to concentrate on several quantitative and qualitative data due to which the
research tend to employee's multi-stage method. But in order to achieve a proper understanding
of the research factors, the focus of the research will be concentrated on qualitative data.
Data Collection
For conducting the research, data has to be collected from Hilton Hyde, and this can be
achieved from two different approaches, which are as follows. Primary data collection method
and other is secondary. In the case of the primary data collection method, data is achieved
through conducting the research on the ground level within the organisation and tend to identify
the employee's work experience within the organisation (Daniel and Harland, 2017). Whereas, in
secondary data, collection data is achieved from external sources, which is vast and also tend to
showcase the company's actions to overcome situations. The primary research method is chosen
for the analysis in this research because it tends to showcase the company's goal achievement
capability through the work productivity of its employee workforces. Thus, through the use of
semi-structured interviews, specific organizational activities can be identified.
Data analysis
Data analysis is the research data analysis in which research data is being used for
interpreting, derived data to insights. Thus, data analysis is the process in which data is being
effective in terms of analysing the non-numerical data through which analysis of concepts and
experience can be done effectively.

Data analysis
Data analysis is the research data analysis in which research data is being used for
interpreting, derived data to insights. Thus, data analysis is the process in which data is being

processed, transformed and moulded to identify business decision-making. It is of different types
which include predictive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analysis. Descriptive analysis is
the theoretical approach in which previous organizational steps are being taken into
consideration by using KPI and monthly revenue. But predictive research tend to showcase the
upcoming future steps of company by using the statical data. Predictive data is being chosen as
an analytical approach because of its efficient use in interpreting the numerical data to identify
the organizational steps in decision-making process.
Data sampling
Sampling is the activity in the subset of a large quantity is being taken for evaluating the
core working process. This, in this case, specific individuals example, managers have been taken
as a representation of a large population through which closeness of the actual working can be
analysed. It is of two different types, which include probability sampling and non-probability
sampling. In which probability sampling tend to represent that every member has a chance of
selection which is often used in quantitative approach but in case qualitative approach,
individuals are randomly selected (Daniel and Harland, 2017). Non-probability sampling will be
implemented in this research method, and ten respondents managers will be selected from Hilton
Hyde Park for assisting the project in the right direction. Thus, the collection of data will be done
through the organizational managers through the effective utilisation of convenience and snow
sampling procedures.
Ethical aspects of the study
The conducted research firstly secure the information about the potential participants
through the institutional gatekeepers; in the taken data collection method, all the ethical
considerations have been fulfilled. During the collection of data, no activities have been involved
which cause harm to the participants, and with that, no such questions have been asked, which
tend to cause distress or any psychological harm to the participants. With, that all the participants
are organizational employees and are designated at the higher position within the organization
and no external individual have to been taken into consideration for the evaluation in this project.
With that, confidentiality will be ensured for all the participants, and all the efforts will be made
for interpreting the data to reflect the intentions of the responsible participants. With that, all the
used sources and authors used will be acknowledged and correctly referenced using the Harvard
referencing system.
