The business was started in the year 1997 with a capacity of less than 20. With time the business
has grown and expanded into a big business.
As an expert in risk assessment analysis in the ABC Fitness Gym, I do recommend the
management to adapt the new technology that is to automate all operational carried out in the
ABC business with current technology systems
Introduction
The ABC Fitness Gym is a business started back in the year 1997 with small premises that could
only a commodity a capacity of 20 members only. With the time the owner was to purchase a
new premises and expanded gym that currently can now a commodity more members and has
200 employee. It’s operate with two category of members that is corporate employee and
individual members who pays an annual subscription which are revised every January. A risk
assessment technology project undertaken at ABC Fitness Gym showing the treats,
vulnerabilities and consequences of the business. Due to the rate of technology growth as
compared to when the business was started as well as the expansion of the ABC business thus
there is much need to conduct a technical risk analysis in the ABC business. To avoid essential
task such as booking, staff data, payment and revised records, business properties, machine
services report among others being done manually. . By so doing it will be advantageous to the
ABC Fitness Gym since a number of task will be automated thus reduce number of staff
deployed, payment record tracking will be highly enhance thus reducing theft, all machine
service date will be always updated in the system. With all this task and information processed
with system, then there will be mutual benefit to the owner that maximum profit and good
working environment to the staff.
The gym operates with two categories of equipment that is weights machine and cardiovascular

Threats, vulnerabilities and consequences associated with risk assessment in the ABC
Fitness Gym;
1. Possibility of having ghost workers in the ABC Business – having 200 number of staff
with no well establish system with current technology of keeping this employee data,
monitoring reporting and working time, then there is high chances of having staff that are
not working.
2. The payment not fully surrendered to ABC Business – The ABC business has two
categories of members and they have different annual subscription, there being no system
match to the current technology, there is likelihood of payment or payment records be
mishandled. Also they are doing manual booking that involve handling of cash.
3. Loss of the organization assets and information. – there is necessity of recording and
doing regular back up of the assent quantity and status as a while as staff information,
but this is only achievable with 21st century technology where all ABC essential data can
be back up in the cloud to avoid data loss in case of system failure.
4. Threat of machine fails - having manual records on when the machine was lastly service
there is possibility of forgetting or misplacing hence fails while the instructor is unaware.
The ABC Fitness Gym is more vulnerable to above mention threats, due to their manual and
poor operational procedure standard that are being practice such as (Kara, 2019);
1. Employment procedures – Every staff is employed by a certain gym department and yet
the gym requires to know where the employee was previous working. This show the
system in place is not capable of generating all staff details by just keying in the primary
id of the staff.
2. Booking Procedures - The members are taken to see the gym facilities then booked into
gym tours that limits to 6 members lasting for an hour which is manually done by the
staff. This should be automated to avoid wastage of time and possibility of not adhering
to gym rule.
3. Machine purchasing and servicing procedures – all this details are manually recorded
then there is chances of misplacing, not being updated, forgetting hence machine is at
risk.

The consequences of the current ABC business to the owner is low profit margin despite the
growth of the business due to use of outdated system. This is due to the following;
1. Poor record keeping of machine serviced date leading to machine fail hence keep
on replacing.
2. High list of employee which can be reduced by use of current system
3. System subscription record is more trusted than manual system hence reduces
chances of theft.
Therefore is recommended to the owner of the ABC business to use the latest technology system
to control the asset, monitor member’s movement, employee data and the payment record more
as well as the adjustment report after being revised and that of employee reduced rate. By so
doing the ABC Fitness Gym will benefit more as compared to the current situation. Some of this
benefit includes;
1. The assets control will be enhanced and cases of loss and or replacement reduced of the
company assets will be curbed. Using the system, it will be easy to monitor the Gym
equipment and there health so that the customers coming in the fitness session can be
able to find it well set and equipment in condition.
2. All subscription done to the ABC business will be accounted for thus reduces such of
theft
3. The margin profit will increase from the current profit which is being billed and accrued
at the fitness center.
4. There will be good working environment to the staff and the customers at large. For this
reason, monitoring of customers and staff data will be very easy.
5. Labour and time will be saved since the booking process is automated. Automating the
processes in the fitness company will be the best way of even increasing the number of
customers visiting the company since they will be served very fast and with the most
current technology.

The protection mechanisms to be employed is based on technology; an automated system is
highly emphasized to be installed at ABC Fitness Gym to keep record truck, run the business,

control all the assets and keep the data of corporate employee and individual member in the
entire ABC Business (Wysopal, 2019). Also a norm cultures has to grow among the staff and the
members since with the automated system there must be some standard procedures done daily
for system to capture the details. Failure to adhere to the stated standard procedure the system
will be of no use to the ABC Fitness Gym.

be done is because ABC business actual need to be automated with the current technology
