Introduction
Project management is related with application of processes, methods, skills, knowledge
etc. in order to achieve project objectives within a stipulated time and budget so that effective
results can be achieved which can help in maximising the interest of stakeholders. In order to
achieve desired goals it is important that appropriate approaches are applied so that project can
be controlled and managed efficiently and its execution can be done effectively. After the
completion of report the end project report is prepared by project manager so that the the
outcomes can be evaluated and lessons can be learnt so that projects in future can be completed
effectively (Bjorvatn and Wald, 2018). In this report the execution and control of a project
related with launching an event by which QA Higher Education College can publish their
technological constructed building so that more number of students can be attracted will be
discussed. Application of PRINCE-2 model will be done for controlling the entire project so that
it can be made successful. Further reflection of self competence while executing roles and
responsibilities will be done with the help of end of project report.

In order to complete the project so that the desired results can be achieved within the
stipulated time and budget it is important that effective approaches are applied for controlling
and executing the project. The importance of project execution phase is that it help in conducting
the activities related with project in planned manner so that the products or services that are
produced can help in fulfilling the quality requirements of customers so that high satisfaction can
be achieved. It is also important that the activities related with project are controlled so that data
related with project can be gathered and analysed effectively and the cost and time related with
project can be managed (Cooke, 2016). Project controls are the processes that help in measuring
project status so that the likely outcomes can be forecasted and improvements can be made so
that better outcomes can be achieved. There are various processes which are involved in project
control like project planning, budgeting, risk management, change management, forecasting,
performance management etc. All these processes can help QA Higher Education College in
maximising the quality of the project related with launching technological constructed building
so that the admissions in college can increase. It can also help in improving the brand image of

college in market as it will be able to effectively meet the changing learning requirements of
students in an efficient manner.
PRINCE2 is an acronym for Projects IN Controlled Environment which is a process
based method that can help in managing a project from the beginning to end so that highly

College which can help in making the college building technologically equipped that can help
the students in improving their learning experience along with creating an advanced learning
environment so that better results can be achieved (Hwang, Zhu and Tan, 2017). It can also help
the college in increasing the number of enrolments both online and offline which can help it in
growing rapidly in the market. The principles of PRINCE2 model must be applied in an efficient
manner so that the project can be completed in desired manner like the project must be
continuously justified so that high return can be achieved on investment, teams should
continuously learn from experience, clear delegation of roles and responsibilities, staying
focused on final deliverable etc. All these principles can help in effective execution of project so
that the project can be completed on time and in an efficient manner. Following are the processes
in the PRINCE2 approach which can help QA Higher Education College in completing the
project: Starting the project: In this project mandate is created where the goals that are to be
achieved are determined along with necessity of project so that it can be approved by the
project manager. Directing a project: After approving the project, the resources which will be needed are
determined and effective team is formed so that roles and responsibilities among team
members can be delegated (Kephas and Enoch, 2017). Initiating the project: The project plan is created along with the timeline within which
the activities related with project can be completed. The six targets of the project like
time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits are determined in this stage. Controlling: The project must be divided into smaller components so that the work can
be effectively managed and the progress of the project can be controlled along with
making necessary changes.

 Managing product delivery: At this stage the progress of the project is compared with
expected progress so that the work can be continuously reviewed and effective
corrections can be made. Managing stage boundaries: At the closing of each stage, the manager will review the
outcomes achieved so that it can be ensured that the project is on right track.
 Closing a project: At this stage the projects is closed after achieving the final deliverable
along with documentation and reporting of the project so that project can records can be
maintained and project can be finally closed (Kerzner, 2017).

The end of project report is produced by project manager after the completion of project

decision regarding closing the project. This report give details about the deliverables that are
achieved by completing the project and their efficiency in achieving high customer satisfaction.
Also it provides details regarding what went well during the project and what needs to be
improved so that the benefits that are achieved can be evaluated which can help in ensuring the
final deliverables are accepted by customers (Kerzner, 2018). Following are the details which are
contained in EOP report so that the project outcomes can be analysed:
The objectives that were to be achieved by the project was to launch technological
constructed building through an event so that more number of students can be attracted and
admissions in college can be increased. The project has been able to effectively achieve its
objectives as the project was completed within the stipulated time and budget so that highly
effective outcomes can be achieved. The event related with launching technological constructed

building has been effective as it has resulted in increased number of admissions in college along
with improving the brand image of college in market.
The benefits which have been achieved through the completion of this project is
maximising the interest of all the stakeholders like students, teachers, principal, suppliers,
contractors, government etc. Through this project education can be made more effective and
their overall development can take place along with improving their efficiency as with improved
technology education can be achieved irrespective of time and place of students. Further it can
help the college in enhancing its brand image in market so that the number of admissions in
college can increase which can also help in raising funds in college. The teachers can also get the
benefit of improved technology as they can give better lessons to students and improve the
learning of their students. Thus the project helped in achieving the goals as per the expectation
after completion of project (O’Regan, 2017).
The project manager has tried to keep the project under its original scope by applying
various approaches of controlling and managing the project so that the deliverables of project can
be efficiently completed. This helped the manager in completing the project within budget which
was £50000 and 6 months of duration along with maintaining high quality of the project so that
better outcomes can be achieved. Thus the project manager has been able to keep the project
within the original scope by effectively delegating roles and responsibilities among members
along with dividing the complete project in smaller and manageable tasks. Also using the
resources in an efficient manner so that all the project activities can be completed effectively and
within time.
While completing the project the project manager effectively used PRINCE2 approach
which helped in continuously reviewing the progress of the project so that effective changes can
be made whenever required. This helped in regularly improving the quality of the project along
with enhancing the way in which team members performed their roles and responsibilities so that
they could use their skills and abilities in an efficient manner (Tuttle, 2018). The changes that
were made were related with establishing effective communication among the team members
along with improving the allocation of resources so that the project can be completed in an
efficient manner. The changes in original plan were done so that the challenges that were faced
during the project can be dealt with in an efficient manner like ineffective communication,
resource conflicts, determining accountability among team members, difficulty in decision

making etc. All these aspects related with original plan were improved so that the team members
can perform their roles and responsibilities in an effective manner. Use of Gantt Chart, WBS,
effective communication tools etc. were done by the project manager so as to improve quality of
results achieved and efficiency of project can be enhanced.
During the project I was a part of project team which helped in enhancing my learning
and using my skills and abilities in an efficient manner so that I could effectively perform my
roles and responsibilities. During the project my learning related with completing the project
enhanced which has helped in my personal and professional learning which can help me in being
successful and in coordinating effectively with team members. I learnt various lessons regarding
the leadership style which must be followed while managing a project along with the processes
and approaches that can be applied in completion of the project (Ul Musawir and Ali, 2017). I
have learnt how to communicate effectively with team members so that the flow of information
can take place smoothly and work can be done by team members in an efficient manner. The
things that went well during the project were my analytical and critical thinking abilities which
helped me in making effective decisions during the project. I however need to improve my stress
management skills so that I can manage problems and solve them efficiently so that stress levels
can be decreased. The project has been successful in managing the resources effectively which
helped in completing the project on time. Also the application of PRINCE2 approach went well
during the project which helped in gaining the outcome of project as per desire. The
recommendations that can help in completing the project in a better manner in future are that the
roles among team members must be distributed based on their capabilities so that the task given
to them can be completed on time (Vujosevic and Peto, 2018). Also the team members can
review their work timely so that improvements can be made continuously thereby improving the
way in which effective results can be achieved. Democratic leadership style can be used which
can help in improving decision making during the project along with improving engagement of
employees so that high quality of results can be achieved. I can also improve my skills related
with managing time so that I can effectively complete the work given to me within stipulated
time so that my overall efficiency can be improved.
The risks that I felt could have been identified earlier before starting the project were
availability of sufficient resources, effective communication among team members, forming
effective team so that people having required skills and abilities can be formed part of team,

managing time etc. The unavailability of team members who can be involved in team prevented
me in identifying these risks (Wang, Sasanipoor and Wang, 2020). This could have been avoided
by identifying effective team members before starting the project so that their skills could have
been utilised in making the project results more effective by mitigating the risks so involved.
Conclusion
From the above report it can be said that it is important that effective approach is used
while managing a project so that it can be controlled and executed in an efficient manner which
can help in achieving the desired objectives on time. Also it is essential that a EOP report is
formed after the completion of the project which can help in evaluating what went wrong during
the project and how it can be improved so that future projects can be made better.
