TECHNOLOGICAL ETHICS AND GLOBALIZATION
Globalization:
Globalization defines the process of free exchange of any kind services or goods
internationally. There are four aspects of globalization:
1. Transactions and trade(export and import)
2. Movement of investments(Foreign direct investment)
3. Movement of people(Migration)
4. Knowledge dissemination
Positive impacts of globalization:
Political:
Globalization stands on the concept of cooperation. The international agreement has
become important nowadays as the world is shrinking proverbially. A perfect example of
political globalization is the creation of United Nations.
Cultural:
In case of working together along with other people from different background a person
can get familiar with new ideas and cultural aspects(Costinot and Rodríguez-Clare 2014). The
use of internet and other ways of cultural exchange enriches people to know more about the other
parts of worlds.

TECHNOLOGICAL ETHICS AND GLOBALIZATION
Globalization allows the areas which have limited resources to improve the way of living
life as those areas can get resources from other different areas (Dippel, Gold and Heblich 2015).
Moreover parts of a product can be made in different parts of the world and later assembled into
one product. This can increase the quality of the product.
Ethical:
Globalization enables to improve the sense of global civics. It also improves the
opportunities of addressing any human injustice that is happening at any corner of the world.
Negative impacts of globalization:
Political:
Some countries have responded negatively to the globalization and have adopted the idea
of isolationism. Example of North Korea can be taken into account in this case. This leads to the
non interaction of North Korea with other countries.
Cultural:
Globalization enables the cultural exchanges between different cultures which is a good
thing. In order to do this some people from specific culture feel that their own culture and
tradition is fading away with the growing of new world culture.
Economic:
Globalization leads to create the inequity and exploitation of cheap labor in the poor
nations of the world by providing unethical working conditions.

TECHNOLOGICAL ETHICS AND GLOBALIZATION
Destruction of natural resources and the unethical use of information are happening for
the globalization which is unethical.
Moral operating system standard in case of globalization can be determined by using
strategies as moral ethics cannot be measured by any number or equation.
Mill’s Utilitarianism:
Mill’s Utilitarianism states that an action should be taken basis on the consequences or
outcomes of that action(Han 2015). In case of technology Mill’s utilitarianism can determine the
right and the wrong doings such as a development of technology which helps to hack the
confidential information is not welcomed as access of confidential information is against the law.
Kant’s Theory:
Kant’s theory is focused and determined the right and wrongness of the action itself
rather than judging the consequences (Heikkerö 2015). Deontology of the ethics enables the
technology experts not to perform any kind of business that violates the technical ethics.
The doings of a technical system depends on the ethical values of the developer.
Developer needs to be concerned about the different aspects of the problem and needs to find an
ethical solution. Moral operating system needs to be environment friendly as globalization can
pollution along with it also serves CSR (corporate social responsibility). In this way moral
operating system can minimize the problem of the society and environment by maximization of
the positive benefits.
