Introduction
Businesses have relied on technology to remain competitive and offer consumers better
products and services with time. Technology in context of business not only involves innovation
and creation of unique products and services, but also centers on developing technological
infrastructure which help the company gain competitive advantage (Ahn, and et. al., 2021).
Currently, businesses across the world have been focused on developing digital capabilities and
adopting digital technologies, including artificial intelligence, Big data analytics and Virtual
reality technology in order to offer consumers better services, increase organizational
efficiency with the motive of exploit the advanced technologies to gain industry leadership. This
report describes overview of the current situation in context of adopting these technologies,
along with the reaction of businesses to adoption of new technologies.
Description of Issue
Recent technological advancements institute technology to technology and artificial
intelligence technologies have enabled businesses to improve their services and offer consumers
a better experience. In addition to this, the increasing usage of digital content and channels by
consumers is also a key factor promoting the usage of digital technologies by both multinational
organization and small businesses. It is important for businesses to adopt new technologies such
as digital technology and artificial intelligence technology in order to stay competitive and move
forward as consumer demands are changing.
Retail industry, automotive industry, consumer electronics industry and many other
industries are adopting digital technologies, along with artificial intelligence, big data analytics,
Internet of Things in order to offer consumer satisfaction and build technological capabilities
which can help the company survive for a longer time. One of the main areas of business which
have been affected by adoption of new technology is consumer experience and consumer
relationship management. This is because digital technology and artificial intelligence provide
business firms capabilities to understand individual demands of consumers and handle each
individual consumers separately to offer them personalization (Alghalith, 2018).
Adopting new technologies in organizational infrastructure is challenging tasks, as it
involves organizational wide change and acceptance of new technology by employees.

Successful adoption of new technologies helps businesses adopt with market changes, while
unsuccessful adoption of business technologies, can act as a burden to the company and lead to
heavy loss. As the rise of digital technology adoption is increasing, many businesses are learning
that adopting new technologies is filled with barriers such as high employee resistance and

Reaction of companies
The primary reaction of businesses across industries to adoption of new technology is to
invest in building digital capabilities and understanding the usage of artificial intelligence in the
company. This enables the company to improve organizational efficiency and offer consumers
better services (Mantha, Menassa and Kamat, 2018). Businesses across industries are developing
long term strategies for technological development and adoption of new technology. Long term
strategy development involves creating a vision in context of digital technology development so
that the company is able to adapt their digital capabilities and skills with changing environment.
Change management models and strategies are being utilized by businesses to ensure that
employees are able to Accept and participate in adoption of new technology and support growth
of the company. This involves gaining consumers feedback about various aspects of
technological adoption and providing them leadership support to ensure their satisfaction.
Businesses are also investing in offering employees training and learning programs so
that they are able to build digital skills, and the company has digitally advance Infrastructure,
along with a digital capable workforce. This is a suitable reaction to adoption of new
technologies in the current time because it can help the company develop a workforce which is
not only capable of handling the current technologies, but also able to update themselves with
arrival of new technologies (Cooper, 2020). Digital adoption and focus on building digital skills
can support the organization in updating digital infrastructure quickly with technological changes
in the future and gain competitive advantage.
Conclusion
From the web report, it is concluded that successful adoption of new technologies such as
digital technologies is helping businesses across the world attain growth. Artificial intelligence,
big data, analytics, virtual reality and digital technologies are some of the contemporary

technologies which have been adopted by businesses to facilitate organizational progress.
Adoption of new technologies is not an easy process as it involves dealing with consumer
resistance and institutionalizing technological change at the company. Development of long-term
strategy usage of change management plans and implementation of Lightning and development
programs are the reactions of businesses to adoption of new technologies which supports in
successful technological development of a company.

Reflection revolves around gaining understanding of one’s thinking process and gaining
awareness about the learning process (Brown, 2021). My reflection on participation in this
module is provided bellow:
What you have learnt from the module
Participation in this module has been a great learning experience for me, as I've been able
to develop various skills and understand the concept of academic writing to great detail. By
participating in this module, I know about the role of referencing in developing academic
projects and writing pieces. In addition to this, I've also understood about various factors which
need to be considered in order to improve my academic writing. After participating in this
module, I've developed the ability to identify relevant and accurate resources for any resource so
that I am able to conduct academic research quickly. It is because of this module that I will be
able to produce grammatically correct academic papers with. Referencing so that my academic
integrity remains intact and I'm able to generate own knowledge during my experience at the
university. By learning about the ways of accurately referencing and citing a source, I will be
able to acknowledge the secondary sources from which I gather data to complete my academic
research so that my academic integrity is maintained.
Why the learning may be important
I have come to understood that developing academic writing skills is important for any
student attending higher education courses because it helps the student develop a coherent
academic writing pieces. After completing this module I have come to understood that my
academic writing skills have been improved due to participation in this module. This will play an
important role in my performance during higher education and also help me build my future
career because writing improves overall communication skills of an individual. I've also learned

the effective and accurate way of referencing sources in academic writing by participating in this
module. I am now able to accurately utilize and cite various sources in my academic projects,
including books, journals, and online articles. Learning about referencing is important because it
helps students maintain their academic integrity. Students are able to acknowledge external
sources and secondary sources which are used in the research so that actions of academic
misconduct are not computed by the students, such as plagiarism (Azizah, Maryanti and
Nandiyanto, 2021).
How is the learning going to be of use in future studies and development plans?
My knowledge about plagiarism, academic misconduct and operation of accurate
academic writing pieces will play an important role in my future development plans as I will
examine my academic strengths and weaknesses and take action to make further improvement in
my academic writing skills. By participating in this module, I've understood that my main
weakness in context of academic writing skills is editing my written projects. I will include
editing skills in my personal development plan so that my overall academic writing skills can be
improved. I've learned from participating in this module that my referencing skills are weak and I
need to work on my referencing skills in order to ensure that sources used in my reports are of
top quality and referenced accurately. This will also be a part of my Personal development plan
as I will focus the direction of my personal development plan to increase my skills. Finally,
participation in these modules have also made me aware that my research skills are weak as I am
not able to evaluate data to develop original knowledge and paraphrase from secondary sources.
This will help me create my professional development plan as I will improve my research skills
further.
