with mobiles, computers and laptops in a day. The objectives of the research was To identify the
positive effects of technology on children's social development to study the types of technology
that effects on children's social development; to investigate the negative effects of technology on
social development of children; to analysis different ways through which negative effects of
technology on children's social development can be overcome easily. The research is based on
qualitative methods in which the sample size in 16 children and data was collected from both
primary and secondary methods. Further the outcomes of the study stated that technology has
lead to positive impact on social development of children as it raises the creativity skills,
problem solving skills and help in effective learning. Moreover, it can be said that, it is
important that parents should keep watch on their children activities and keep balance as outdoor
activities are also very important to live a healthy and happy life instead of only using
technologies.

TITLE OF PROJECT PROPOSAL
“To analyse the effects of technology on children's social development”.
PART 1
1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Identify a specific researchable topic area
In the development of a person's overall health, things which a person can remember is
start from his early childhood days. Social development is a process by which a person can learn
that how to interact with others. In these stage child has to build healthy relation with those by
whom he is surrounded like in school, park, home.
Social development help a child to learn new languages, games, speech etc. by the
strength of these learnings he can build up self-esteem, that help a children to find out solutions
of conflict in future (Abraham and et. al., 2016). Like charity begin from home similar how to
behave with others is first learned by a child from his parents. Emotional and social development
is an ability of children to know the feeling of some others, control their behaviours and feelings,
build relationship with adults and get along with other children. In today era, technology play
most essential and vital role for developing skills and knowledge of people or children about
specific subject. Technology changes the style of children that they socialize and interact with
some others, which can highly effects on their psychical and emotional health. It has now
become mutual knowledge that maximum levels of social media use by children. It is a biggest
topic that effects on children as well as society also. There are different types of technology such
as social media, internet and many other which are positively and negatively impact on children.
Maximum uses of technology is negatively impact on children's eye, brain and many other parts
of body. Along with this, technology is also have positive impact on children's by developing
different skills and knowledge about specific subject.
1.2 Establish the importance of the problem
In this research, impact of technology on social development of children is biggest issues.
Technology has positive and negative effects on children's social development. It changes the
way children interact and socialize with others, which can have large effects on their emotional
Document Page
and mental well-being (Best, 2017). Technology is important and essential for children because
it gives tons of positive chances for learning, socializing and entertaining, but it should be
watched and used in appropriate manner. This topic help a population to avoid the maximum
uses of social media in their routine life. With the assist of this, they can easily overcome effects
of social media and gain better outputs within given time duration. Therefore, with the help of
research, researcher can easily influence the parents of those children whose spend their more
time over the internet and many sites. Thus, it is a more significant topic for the children and
their parents to avoid maximum uses of technology on their daily life.
1.3 Aim of the research project
In research project aim is consider one of the essential part because entire activities and
tasks of study is dependent on them. Main aim of this research is “To investigate the effects of
technology on social development of children”.
2.0 RESEARCH OBJECTIVES AND RESEARCH QUESTION
Research Questions: It is consider as a fundamental core of a research, study or literature
review. It mainly emphasis the study, find out the methodology and guides entire stages of
inquiry. In this section, different number of useful questions are made which are determine as
below:
What are the positive effects of technology on children's social development?
What are the types of technology that effects on children's social development?
What are the negative effects of technology on social development of children? What are the different ways through which negative effects of technology on children's
social development can be overcome easily?
Research Objectives: A research objective is a concise, clear, declarative statement,
which gives an accurate direction to identify variables under the study (Bjorklund and Causey,
2017). This section is based on two variables such as dependent and independent. According to
the aim children's social development is a dependent variable which is depend on technology.
There are some important research objectives which are mention as under:
Document Page
1. To identify the positive effects of technology on children's social development.
2. To study the types of technology that effects on children's social development.
3. To investigate the negative effects of technology on social development of children.
4. To analysis different ways through which negative effects of technology on children's
social development can be overcome easily.
3.0 LITERATURE REVIEW
A literature review is a reproducible, explicit and systematic method for synthesizing,
evaluating and identifying the existing body or recorded and finished work produced by scholars,
investigators and practitioners (Chang, 2015). It is a form of narrative review which includes the
actual understanding about substantive findings, as well as methodological and theoretical
contribution to a specific topic of research. There are different purpose of literature review some
are determine as below:
It identify conflicts and gaps in previous studies.
Literature review provide foundation of knowledge on specific topic of research.
This section of research help a researcher to identify relationship of works in relates of its
contribution to the particular topic and to other work.
It also help an investigator to accomplish all research objectives in systematic and
effective manner.
The positive Impacts of technology on children's social development.
According to the Littlefield, (2017) National association for the education told that
technology refer to digital way of learning. It include all application, games, e-books etc. all are
included in technology. About the learning of technology studies show that they have positive
effect. Research show that children who play maths games or watch television show with their
parents they learn new strategy fast as compare to when they watch alone. With the use
technology children are growing fast that how to respond on different technology.

With the play of different games children can learn better coordination between their eye
and hand, response time and how to do different work at a same time. Technology need just to
be a ongoing interaction with children (Technology Good For Little Kids, 2019). Present era
provide a opportunity to use technology as a educational tool but it need coordination between
children and technology.
Nowadays children are learning how they will be able to develop themselves. With which
application they can increase their learning abilities. Present scenario told us that now children
are in easily in touch with devices because it is available at everyone homes.
Sounds, graphic, colour, action activity etc. gain the children attention. This all help them
to increase their focus , to avoid distraction. It is more with the came up of touch screen
technology. Survey which are in schools show that mostly children go only with educational
game because it is a different way of learning in class. If educator is taking responsibility of
using technology in class than effectiveness of learning by students also increased. basic
awareness of parents and teacher on children that how much time was spend by his children in
technology can provide several benefits to their children.
Effectiveness and efficiency of a children depend on how much he is focused for use of
devices.
Interaction between children and parents is important to tell that purposeful use of technology
help to grow a children fast.
Types of technology that effects on children's social development.
According to the Rasmussen, (2016) it is important that how parents mange the things so
that effect of technology can be decreased because it is one of those area which bring adverse
impact on children. There are some of the area which is effecting the most to child and they are:
Mobile Phones: It is one of those electronic item which has been effecting the must
because it do contain all those features which normal computer do have in it. The use of mobile
phone has been increasing day by day which have decreased the level of interest on other
activities.
Document Page
Television: It is also among on of the effecting area for children in terms of technology.
If anyone become the victim of television then social development of that child takes excessive
time. So, it is important for parents that how they can change the mind set of their children.
Video games: This are also one of the factor through which social development of
children take extra time. At present there are many children who are addictive of video games
which do not let children to develop their mind in a systematic manner.
This are some the technology at present which has been effecting the most in social
development of children.
The negative effects of technology on social development of children.
According to the Tartaro, (2015) there are different number of negative effects of
technology on social development of children. Some are determine as under:
Technology slows down the brain: Today's, children do not get adequate exercise. They
spend their maximum time on internet and different types of technology which will negatively
effects on its mental health. In addition to this, maximum use of technology may origin children
to become dyslexics, it can cause its brains to not hold things quickly.
Technology increases risk of cancer: Computer scree and cellular phones emit radiation
which can maximise the issues of cancer, especially in children. Therefore technology is not
good for the mental and physical well-being of children (The Negative Effects of Technology in
Child Development, 2018).
Technology delays cognitive development: Children's cognitive development between
two to three years old can be negatively affected if they usage devices for long duration. At this
specific age, children should learn and develop spatial skills, motor skills and visual skills to lead
a normal life. Such type of skills are created by exercising or by playing.
Technology causes Eye Strain: Different number of children face eye issue when they sit
in front of laptop and television screen for maximum time. In addition, eye strain can track to eye
weariness, blurry vision and focus problems, which can be more dangerous and irritating.
Document Page
Different ways through which negative effects of technology on children's social
development can be overcome easily.
According to the Willis and Nagel, (2015), In the era of modern technology electronic
devices have very crucial role but, it is very important at present to make children aware about
electronic devices as they are the one which bring negative impact on their health. There are
different number of ways through which negative effects of technology on social development of
children can be reduce or overcome easily. It is necessary that how it is being utilised. Even, it
has been found that electronic devices have destroyed the life of many children so, it is better for
every parents to prohibit their children from electronic devices. Some of the necessary area that
be focused more by parents are: Increasing the outdoor activities: It must be understood by every parents that children
should get more opportunity to visit outside rather forcing them to stay in home. It will
allow children to focus more on other activities then electronic devices (Negative effects
of technology on children, 2018). Seat at specific distance: The thing that parents need to keep in mind that, if they allows
their children to use electronic device then it is necessary to make them keep distance so
that it will not affect the eyes much and more.
Avoiding Electronic Items: It should be understood by all parents that they themselves
need to change because if they will not avoid using electronic item in front of children
then how they can convince their child.
4.0 METHODOLOGY
It is the theoretical and systematic analysis of different methods used to a field of
research. In addition, research methodology is consider one of the useful process used to
accumulate data and information for the purpose of making effective business decision. This
section of study may cover publication research, survey, interview and other techniques relevant
to the topic (Connell, Lauricella and Wartella,2015). Main purpose of research methodology is to
collect, analyze and interpret information or data to answer questions. Thus, with the help of this

section an investigator can easily identify impact of technology on social development of
children.
4.1 Research Design, Research approach and Research Type
Research onion is consider one of the best theory and framework used by researcher in
explaining research methodology for specific topic of study. This framework has different outer
and inner layer which will help a researcher to identify useful and appropriate methods for
accumulating accurate data or information about the positive and negative effects of technology
on children's social development. It will also help an investigator to identify information about
the different ways regarding managing negative effects of social media on children.
Research Design: The entire activities or tasks of study depends on research design
which is executed by an investigator for identifying effects of technology on children's social
development (Gordon and et. al., 2016). There are fundamentally three form of research design
namely descriptive, experimental and exploratory. In order to identify impact of technology on
social development of children, descriptive design will be more suitable and appropriate because
it provide accurate results about the topic.
Data collection: For collecting accurate amount of information, there are mainly two
methods of data collection which will be used in the study, one is primary and another is
secondary. Under primary data, questionnaire will be followed because it help in accumulating
reliable and valid data about the topic (Lim, 2015). On the other side, there is secondary data,
books, journals, publication research and many other articles used to collect in-depth and proper
information about the field of study. For this research, secondary research will be used by
researcher for accumulating relevant data about the study.
Data analysis: In these themes are prepared on the basis of research questions. In order to
analysis data, thematic analysis as an analytical tool will be used by researcher. In these case
different number of themes are made on each research questions which will help a researcher to
minutely analysis response from the respondents side.
Research approach: There are two types of research approach which name is inductive
and deductive. In case of inductive approach, it is concerned with building an unique or new
Document Page
theory. On the other hand, under deductive approach, it is mainly concerned with testing an
existing theory. For this research project, inductive approach will be used by researcher because
it help them in accumulating quality data about the topic.
Research philosophy: For evaluating data or information effectively, there are basically
two types of research philosophy which is positivism and interpretivism (Littlefield and et. al.,
2017). According to the topic, Interpretivism philosophy will be applied because it help a
researcher in analysing data accurately. On the other side, there is positivism research philosophy
which will be not valuable for executing research in more suitable manner.
Sampling method: For selecting sample size, there are basically two types of sampling
method which name is probability and non-probability. According to the topic, random sampling
method as a technique of probability will be used by research because in which samples are
selected randomly. On the other hand, non-probability sampling which is not useful according to
the topic because it is difficult for researcher in making valid inference about the whole
population.
Sample Size: For collecting information or data about the effects of technology on
children's social development 60 respondents out of total population will be taken into
consideration.
Target Population: Children's are targeted for this research who are faced the effects of
technology on their social development (Rasmussen and et. al., 2016).
4.2 Rationale
Main reason behind doing this research is to identify the effects of technology on social
development of children. With the help of research methods, approaches and techniques, a
researcher can easily analysis types of technology, positive and negative effects of technology
and ways about managing and overcoming negative issues on the children. Thus, it is a main aim
of this research which will be achieve with the help of research methods such as research
paradigm, inductive approach, probability sampling method, equipments and data analyse. All
these are most appropriate and essential way for the researcher to effectively answer all research
questions. For this questionnaire is consider one of the best tool for investigator to accumulate
Document Page
reliable and valid data about the study and achieve better results for further study. For doing
further research, interview is consider alternative research method which will also essential and
useful for investigator to gather information about the effects of technology on children's social
development (Tartaro and et. al., 2015.). Therefore, all methods of research will be useful and
essential for investigator to accomplish research objectives in more effective and systematic
manner.
5.0 ACCESS TO DATA AND RESEARCH ETHICS
In order to access data there are two methods primary and secondary. According to the
study secondary method is used which will help a researcher to identify valid and in-depth
information about the topic. As the research involves secondary research, research ethics were
followed extensively to see that the study outputs are considered to be relevant and robust.
There are some research ethics principles that were followed include anonymity, informed
consent and confidentiality ( Willis and Nagel, 2015). For anonymity, entire information of
participants to the secondary research are not considered and are not related to any of the
secondary research results. For informed confidentiality, this considered giving the secondary
research respondents with an accurate understanding of research objectives and enabling
potential participants to opt in or out of involving in secondary research. Finally, for
confidentiality, outputs of research are only communicated with those participant who have a
stake in the part of investigation in a specific capacity.
6.0 LIMITATIONS
For doing this research, there are different number of limitation for a researcher such as
formulation of research aims and objectives, sample size, implementation of data collection
method, lack of previous studies in the research area etc. All these are main limitation that effects
on researcher while completing research activities systematically (Willis and Nagel, 2015).
Along with this, time is consider biggest limitation for this study because topic is vast for getting
accurate response of respondents about the effects on technology on their social development.
For this, researcher require particular time period for completing research activities
systematically and effectively. So in the entire it can be explained that time period is less for the
entire research.

INTRODUCTION
Research Background
In current time period use of technology is increasing consistently. In 21st century
technological development takes place at rapid pace which bring revolutionary changes in the
people life. This sort of behaviour impedes personal interaction and adversely affect people
social life specially on child’s. Every individual learns to develop social relationships from
childhood. At this level isolation from social network may have severe negative impact on
children’s.With passage of time main focus is on delivering quality education in such a way that
lead to development of broad understanding of topic among students and high memory retention
rate.
Technology use at schools help in achieving this target. Due to both positive and negative
consequences it become important to identify whether there is high weight of positive or
negative results and steps that can be taken to diminish negative impact of technology on
students or children’s. In the present research study discussion is carried out on impact of
technology on children’s and ways to reduce this impact. In respect to this literature review is
done and data analysis along with findings are given in the report. In past time period many
researchers conduct research and identify that those children’s who consistently operate mobiles
in night have more chances of insomnia, cancer, eye strain, memory loss and lack of attention
etc. Such kind of research studies surely create concern among parents. Use of technology
become need of today generation and due to this reason easily children’s can not avoid use of
gadgets in their daily life. Hence, it become very important to identify approaches that can be
followed to reduce impact of gadgets on children’s.
Thus, it can be said that scope of present research study is wide. In the literature review
section detailed analysis of literature is done and it is identified that by increasing children’s
outdoor activities use of gadgets from their side can be reduced to great extent. Apart from this,
parents can create strong discipline environment so that children’s can be prevented from using
gadgets at home to maximum possible extent. Through data analysis effectiveness of measures
that can be taken will be identified which will lead to drawing of meaningful conclusions.

Objectives:
To identify the positive effects of technology on children's social development.
To study the types of technology that effects on children's social development.
To investigate the negative effects of technology on social development of children.
To analysis different ways through which negative effects of technology on children's
social development can be overcome easily.
Research Questions:
5. What are the positive effects of technology on children's social development?
6. What are the types of technology that effects on children's social development?
7. What are the negative effects of technology on social development of children?
8. What are the different ways through which negative effects of technology on children's
social development can be overcome easily?
LITERATURE REVIEW
According to Van Dooren and et.al., (2016) researches indicate that human brain can
retain anything in the brain from visual processing then just listening. This is the reason due to
which use of technology to teach topics to the students proved very effective. 96% teachers
believed that use of technology increase engagement of children’s in class lectures which is also
very important and beneficial for them. Technology not only help teachers in preparing a plan,
apart from this also assist them in making changes in their notes and teaching topics in new
manner. So that children’s feel something new and exciting in the school.
Contrary to this Palmqvist and Danielsson, (2019) state that there is positive impact of
technology on children’s in terms of education but every time same can not be true. Means that it
is possible that children’s due to excitement pay attention to slides but not able to understand
whatever is in slide due to lack of attention. Children’s may merely be staring at images given in
Document Page
slide due to its attractiveness. Hence, every time use of technology cannot benefits children’s in
terms of education. It can be said that teachers can not solely dependent on technology for
delivering education to children’s. Teachers need to pay due attention on children’s in the class.
Apart from this they also need to use right medium while using technology to teach them at
school. Thus, it can be said that method is good but not 100% reliable and beneficial for the
children’s in the school.
According to Chang and Kang, (2015) technology is assisting students in increasing their
concentration level on multiple fronts. While playing fighting games children’s have to focus on
multiple points which assist them in training their brain for multi-tasking and at same time laying
down focus on multiple actions. If we review jobs and personal life then it can be observed that
every individual has to do multi-tasking in order to become successful in the business or job.
Thus, it can be said that technology is playing crucial role in development of children’s future.
Contrary to this Lee, (2015) state parents must try to identify alternatives from where
benefits can be derived which are also received by children’s due to use of technology. In other
words, it can be said that if any alternative give benefits that are received by children’s due to
use of technology then to get same alternative can be used instead of technology. By doing so
negative impacts of technology on children’s can be prevented.
According to Benton and Johnson, (2015) technology no doubt is assisting children’s in
learning new things in better way. However, excessive use of technology is also having negative
impact on the children’s specially when they make use of mobile late night till they go to bed. As
per research studies that were conducted in previous years operating mobile phones or computers
just before going bed have negative impact on sleeping quality of children’s. Such kind of
behaviour lead to poor sleep quality. Consequently, memory power and cognitive power of
students get declined. All these things have negative impact on children’s learning capability in
the school. Thus, it can be said that no doubt uses of technology help children’s in learning new
things in better way but at same time it may also have negative impact on children’s health.
Contrary to this, Domingo and Garganté, (2016) state that in today era most of youngsters
and children’s use mobile phones to late night and put them off just before sleeping but there are
very few cases where sleep deprivation and low memory like problems are observed. Hence, it
tabler-icon-diamond-filled.svg

can be said that there is no problem if children are making use of technology excessively in order
to learn new things. Instead of preventing children’s from using mobile phones late night they
can be made habitual of doing yoga and meditation exercises so that mental health can be
maintained. Thus, it will not be appropriate to place any restriction in respect to usage of mobile
phones just before taking sleep.
According to Hall and Bierman, (2015) excessive use of computers for entertainment or
education purpose can lead to origination of cancer among children at small age. This is because
computer’s or any other electronic item emit radiation which lead to cancer. Thus, teBy doing so
they can be protected from diseases. At infant age it is very important to pay due attention to the
children’s health because if same will not be done then in that case problems may increase with
enhancement in their age. Thus, parents must ensure that their children are using computers
mostly for education purpose and spend less time on it.
Contrary to this Huda and et.al., (2017) state that children attract towards gadget at very
fast rate and prefer to engage in them for long time. Hence, parents even try to reduce gadgets
use from side of children they can not achieve success. There is need to take alternative steps in
order to combat such kind of situations. In respect to this, parents can purchase Bluetooth
keyboards and mouse so that children from distance can operate computers. This approach has
lots of benefits for students because by doing so radiation impact on eyes and entire body parts
can be reduced and controlled. Thus, instead of preventing students from use of gadgets parents
must use these alternative approaches which will prevent origination of any health issue in
human body.
As per views of Chauhan, (2017) outdoor activities must be use as a method to control
use of gadgets from side of children’s. This is because engagement rate of children on computer
and mobile phone is high. There is need to shift interest of children from mobile and computers
to any activity that is beneficial for them. In this regard outdoor activities are one of option
where children will engage in social interaction by playing games with other. Such kind of
activities are beneficial for their brain and physical capacity. Thus, it can be said that parents
must try to engage their children in outdoor activities in order to prevent negative impact of
technology on them.
Document Page
Radesky, Schumacher and Zuckerman, (2015) also state that outdoor activities are the
one of the best option in order to ensure wellbeing of children. This is because solely education
can not make life of children. This is because physical exercises and sports activity lead to
improvement in blood circulation in body and improvement in brain health. So, there is strong
need to make outdoor activities as integral part of children life. In this regard children can go to
summer camps or they can play games like football, cricket and volley ball etc. All these things
increase children social interaction and benefits them in number of ways.
As per views of Waite, (2017) technology and outdoor activities are very important for
children. One can allow children to fully engage in computers and mobile or any other gadget. In
same way one can not allow children to engage completely in outdoor activities. Discipline is the
only tool that can be used to make sure that children are doing all these activities in balanced
manner so that maximum benefit from performance of these activities can be obtained and
negative impact of technology can be minimized. This is the one of the most suitable approach
that can be used by parents for wellbeing of their children’s.
In views Wartella and Jennings, (2000) schools must make more and more use of
technology to help children learn new things. It is observed that when children’s just listen
lectures from their teachers they are not able to pay due attention on same. Contrary to this, if
lectures are given through images and pictures then in that case attentiveness of children
increased at sharp rate and in visual form they learn new things. They do not need to regularly
learn same things. Visual processing power within children’s in very high then aged people.
Hence, use of technology is better option in respect to teaching topics to the students
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research Methods:
Research methods are the tools and techniques for collecting, analysing and interpreting
the collection of data. It is very essential for researcher to first select the methods on which the
whole study will be carry on. Qualitative and Quantitative are two methods which are essentially
divided into parts. The kind of research methods which helps in developing the understanding
and social and human feeling, views are said to be qualitative methods of research While, when
research methods is to generate numerical and hard data by deploying statistical, logical and
Document Page
mathematical techniques than it is called as quantitative methods of research (Brennen, 2017).
This present research is mainly based on qualitative research method as researcher has used
subjective approach for analysing the research problems.
Research Approaches:
The processes and plans for the investigation which span the steps from wide
assumptions in order to make insight evaluation of data collection, analysis and interpretation is
said to be research approaches. Researcher approaches are used to make the research sensible
and presentable. Inductive and deductive are mainly two types. In case of inductive approach, it
is concerned with building a unique or new theory as well as it is mainly associated to the
qualitative research methods (Lee and et.al., 2016). Whereas, under deductive approach, it is
mainly concerned with testing an existing theory as well as it is fundamentally connected to
quantitative research study. This present research has considered inductive research approaches
to accumulate the quality of data about the subject matter of the study.
Research Design:
Research design is the framework that combines several aspects of research like data
collection, analysing, interpretation and its presentation of data in logical manner. It makes clear
to researcher to how to carry out the research in a desired way. Descriptive and Experimental are
two parts of research design. Descriptive research design is mainly concerned to solving the
research question through how and why (Kratochwill and Levin, 2015). On the other side,
experimental research design is mainly concerned with establishing the relation based on cause
and effect situation between any two variable. In this current research, scholar has applied
descriptive research design that enable the researcher to identify how and why technologies
impact on social development of children.
Sampling:
Sampling is the techniques to divide the large number of population into small parts so
that researcher can collect the data and solve the research problems. Sampling is essential
because researcher is unable to collect the data from huge population due to scarcity of time and
resources. Probabilistic and Non-Probabilistic sampling are two techniques. The type where

every participants have equal chances of being selected in the sample is called as probabilistic
sampling (Bernardi, Melo and Schulten, 2015). Whereas, where participants do not stand equally
in the sample selection is called as non-Probabilistic sampling. Scholar has adopted non-
probabilistic sampling where random sampling is being selected in which 16 children were
chosen for sample.
Data Collection:
Data Collection is the process of gathering information related to the subject area of the
research study. Research is totally incomplete without data collection because researcher cannot
achieve the result without data collection. Primary and secondary are two methods for data
collection. Primary methods are those where data is collected from the researcher own efforts
and are fresh information or data (Tidwell and et.al., 2017). On the other side, secondary
methods are those where information are gathered from any other sources and are based on past
fact and useable data. In this present research, scholar has gathered the data from both the
methods where primary information is collected by survey via questionnaire and secondary
information is collected via journals, books and internet articles.
Data Analysis:
The process or technique where data needs to be mould, transfer, reform and synchronize
to make it useful information for the research is called as data analysis. Data analysis is very
important process as it evaluate the outcomes of the study and lead the research to the
conclusion. Qualitative and Quantitative are two methods for data analysis. Quantitative methods
is used when researcher applied statistical and mathematical tools like SPSS and spread sheet to
identify the outcomes of the study (Mihas, 2019). On the other side, qualitative methods for data
analysis is when researcher analysis the data on the basis of views and opinion of respondents.
Researcher has opted qualitative data analysis methods where data has presented by using tables,
charts and graphs with the application of thematic analysis.

surrounded by technologies like smart phones, computers, laptops etc. they said that it is very
technologies are becomes important part of life and it is essential for smooth flow of life. This
statement is supported by the literature reviews as in school teachers are using technologies for
delivery of education and the use of technology increase engagement of children’s in class
lectures which is also very important and beneficial for them. On the other hand, 3 responders
were not agreed as they said they do not use advance technologies in their daily life. They said
that there parents do not allow them to use technologies because it is not good for health.
Further, 6 were there who were using technologies partially.
Theme 3: Interpretation:
The above survey conducted via questionnaire from 16 children on the impact of using
technologies on social development and it has been identified that computer and tablets and play
stations are mostly used by children in their daily life. They said that in schools they have lap
classes where they use computer and laptop daily whereas others said that they use play stations
for playing games at home. On the other side, there were about 3 who use mobile phones as
advance technology. They said they use mobile phones to keep connected with friends and
family members. Rest of respondents were supporting other as Bluetooth, robotic device. Thus, it
can be said that computers, tablets, play stations are some technologies majorly used by children.
Theme 4: Interpretation:
The above survey conducted via questionnaire from 16 children on the impact of using
technologies on social development and it has been identified that the impact of using advance
technologies is positive for children as 8 were supporting. They said that children using advance
technologies through same they can learn complicated concepts in easy and effective manner and
it makes the learning effective and it also raises the level of concentration. The views in
secondary supported that, schools are using advance technologies now for giving better
education to students. On the flip side, about 12.50 percent of responders were supporting to very
negative option. They said that technologies are making people living in isolation, and it is also
raising many health issues, like weak eyesight, cancer, obesity etc. As the views in literature
supported that, excessive use of computers, laptops and mobile phones for entertainment or
education purpose can lead to origination of cancer among children at small age.

Theme 5: Interpretation:
The above survey conducted via questionnaire from 16 children on the impact of using
technologies on social development and it has been identified using technologies lead to positive
impact on the growth and development of a child as 11 were agreed. They said the world is of
technologies and it is now becomes very important to have knowledge and understanding of
advance technologies. The views in Literature supported that, In 21st century technological
evolution takes place at rapid pace which bring revolutionary changes in the people life which
everyone have to accept. Whereas, there were, only three who said no as they feel like
technologies have make the man artificial and move to life very luxurious life which is not at all
good for health. The finding from secondary review supported that, high use of technology is
having negative impact on the children’s specially when they make use of mobile late night till
they go to bed.
Theme 6: Interpretation:
The above survey conducted via questionnaire from 16 children on the impact of using
technologies on social development and it has been identified that socialization and relationship
building is the main positive impact of technologies as supported by 7. As per their opinion, now
people can talk with anyone through mobile phones and keep connected with people. The views
in literature supported that, Technology surely affect people social life as they are engaged more
and more with mobiles in a day. 3 children said that, technologies allows for creativity and
freedom expression like making 3D animation by drawing a picture. The findings in secondary
supported that coding is a skill, bit programming a mobile application or games is the expression.
Moreover, there were 4 respondents who said that technologies has improved the solving and
perseverance. They said that, they used to play games like Minecraft where people need problem
solving skills as player have t collect weapon, build their shelter and food to survive. About 2
said that technologies has made them allow independence and empowerment.

learning as half of the population is strongly supporting. They said that skills like creativity,
independence can make one a better learner and now we have google to search anything and
grasp information within seconds. As the views in literature supported that, technology no doubt
is assisting children’s in learning new things in better way. Schools are using advance
technologies to deliver quality of education. On the other hand, about 12.50 percent of period
have neutral answer and only 6.25 percent of responders were disagreed. They feel that
technologies has Consequently, memory power and cognitive power of students get declined.
Thus, it can be said that technologies enhances the learning.
Theme 8: Interpretation:
The above survey conducted via questionnaire from 16 children on the impact of using
technologies on social development and it has been identified that concentration level has
increased by playing games on technical gazettes as maximum responders were supporting. As
per their opinion, technologies has raised their level of concentration in multiple ways as when
people play game they focus on their game only. Further, it can also be said from the support of
secondary findings that playing war-ridden game's player have to focus on multiple points which
assist them in training their brain for multi-tasking and at same time laying down focus on
multiple actions.

continuous using of mobiles phones and computers can cause eye cancer and can damage retina.
12.50 percent of responders feel people feel isolation b y these technologies that is not at all good
for the heath and it also makes poor social skills. 25 percent were supporting that there were
various health issues like obesity, headache etc. Orientation of cancer is also one of the disease
which is caused by using technologies.
Secondary Analysis:
As the findings from literature review, Technology certainly affect people social life as
they are engaged more and more with mobiles in a day. There are large number of people that
are building wide network on social media like Facebook and manage their personal relations
through these platforms (Radesky and Christakis, 2016). However, there are many positive
impacts of technology for the children’s as through same they can learn complicated concepts in
easy and effective manner. It can be identified from secondary research that, Technology is not
only benefiting children’s but teachers are also reaping so many benefits from use of technology
at schools. Teachers have common thinking that due to use of technology they are able to plan
their lectures in systematic way. It has been identified from articles that, Children’s may merely
be staring at images given in slide due to its attractiveness. Hence, every time use of technology
cannot benefits children’s in terms of education. It can be said that teachers can not solely
dependent on technology for delivering education to children’s. As per research studies that were
conducted in recent years operating mobile phones or computers just before going bed have
negative impact on sleeping quality of children’s (Umair, Björklund and Petersen, 2015). Such
kind of behaviour lead to poor sleep quality. Consequently, memory power and cognitive power
of students get declined.
As the findings from internet articles, it has been identified that, utilization mobile
phones to late night as well as put them off just before sleep but there are very some cases where
sleep deprivation and low memory like problems are observed (Shulman and et.al., 2016). It is
very dangerous for the heath of children as they technologies are causing serious health issues
like damage of retina, orientation of cancer, headache, pain in backbone, decline of memory
power etc. Advance technology must be used to teach children’s in better way but at same time it
must be ensured that number of hours children spend on computers are less (Katz, 2017).
Document Page
Further, it can also be said that, There are many other things on which attention need to be paid
for their better future. One of them is physical and mental health. If physical and mental health
are excellent then in that children can learn things in better way. Further, schools should make
more and more use of technology to help children learn new things. It is observed that when
children’s just listen lectures from their teachers they are not able to pay due attention on same
(Lyons, 2019).
CONCLUSION
The above research conducted on the impact of technology on the social development of
children and it has been summarised that technology has lead to positive impact. Technology
allows children to be creative and innovative as well as have freedom of expression, and
technology aids to build social skills and helps in relationship building. Further, it has also been
identified that, by playing games on gazettes and play stations, it makes children a good problem
solver. In addition to this, it has been also concluded that technology has aids in learning as
learning has becomes highly effective efficient as now schools are also using technologies like
computers and projector to deliver the education. Technology has also the quality of education to
the greatest extent.
Further, it was also summarised that, technology has make children depended as it attract
towards gadget at very fast rate and prefer to engage in them for long time. On the other hand,
study has also identified various negative impact of using technologies as it has raised many
health issues which are very serious as kids are losing there eyesight at small age and the
memory power is also declining day by day. Further, it has also raises the orientation of cancer,
headache, back pain and sleeping disorder and several other health issues. Moreover, technology
has also made children to live in isolation when they need nothing when they are engaged in
technologies. At the end, it can be stated that, it is important that parents should keep watch on
their children activities and keep balance as outdoor activities are also very important to live a
healthy and happy life instead of only using technologies.

RECOMMENDATIONS
From the above research bases on the impact of technologies on social development of a
child where researcher has identified some recommendations on the basis of above evaluation
are as follows-
Researcher has suggested that parents should be aware of all the activities his/her child is
doing because technologies has many such drawbacks too that can hamper the future of
his/he child.
Further, it was also recommended that parents should make proper time table of all the
activities like indoor and outdoor both so that excessive use of technologies can be
avoided. As it can be supported by the views in literature that, excessive use of excessive
use of computers, laptops and mobile phones for entertainment or education purpose can
lead to origination of cancer among children as well as many other health issues like
headache, back pain, weak eyesight etc. at small age (Schonert-Reichl and et.al., 2015).
Researcher has also identifies that teacher should also keep proper watch on child in laps
in order to overcome the issues of bad habits which are not good for the health and for
future. But researcher has suggested schools from the above analysis that they should
make more and more use of technology to help children learn new things.
Researcher also suggested that schools and parents both should give emphasise to
physical exercise of children to avoid and overcome all the health issues. By doing this
there will be balance and make them healthy (Britto and et.al., 2017).
