1. What are you doing to prepare for disconnecting?
I have been stocking up my book shelf for the last 1 hours now. I visited the local
library and fetched an Aratha Christie book. The book is named Death on the Nile. I have
been to my friend’s place in order to take a book named Based on a True story which sis
written by Norm Macdonald in the year 1960. This diverse book collection ensures that I
can spend my time both on a thriller novel as well as in a comedy story. This will provide
a better balance between the dark and the lighter side of life. I have also informed my

friends to come over for a group study. I have told my mom that I will be cooking tonight
and now I am checking the recipe of the dish that I am going to prepare tonight.
2. What do you think will be the most challenging aspect of disconnecting? The
easiest?
Are you excited about this assignment? Why or why not?
The most challenging part of the assignment will be stay away from social media.
Social Media has become an integral part of our life and staying away from the social
media is itself a huge challenge in itself. Not being able to connect with my virtual friends
will be difficult for me as I am very much into social media
The easiest part and the part that will be beneficial for me includes that I can stay
connected to my family spend a quality time with them and along with that I will get to
taste the life that people of last decade had, which might be even better than us or worse.
This will provide me an added experience and a wide perspective of life.
3. Are you excited about this assignment? Why or why not?
Yes, I am excited about this assignment as with the help of this assignment, the
main advantage will be that I will be able to spend my day with my family and friends
without any interruption.
Part 2
1. What ended up being the most challenging aspect of disconnect?
Connectivity has been the most challenging aspect of the project. Though before
starting this project I was taking this as an opportunity to spend some quality time
with my loved ones without any interruption, this acted as a main disadvantage. I had
to borrow a note from a friend of mine for studying. As I was not having access to any

kind of technology, I could not take the notes from him. This might affect me in the
upcoming exam.
2. What ended up being the easiest (how was this different from your expectations)?
Spending the entire day got easier as time got spent in a very fast rate. the day
went by in a blink of an eye. This is also one of the most important aspect regarding
the management of the project. I read 2 new books and got enriched with knowledge.
This was the most exciting part of the day. I read the books and emerged in the
protagonists. The entire estimation that I had initially was similar. I was expecting this
to happen and this happened and hence I spent a wonderful day. Cooking was also
comparatively easy. I never thought that cooking will be this easy.
3. Did the disconnection have an impact on how you view yourself and your
behaviours in general? (e.g., did you act differently, did you feel any different)?
Why or why not?
This disconnection did affect me as I was unable to get an important note. This
was the primary reason that might have a negative impact on my daily life. Other than
this aspect I did not feel any change in connectivity. Rather we have had a better
connectivity amongst my family members and friends. Despite the fact that the entire
day spent was very good in the evening when my friends went home, I was missing
the social media as with the help of the social media I could have stayed connected
with my friends the entire day and make plans accordingly.
4. Did this assignment change the way you view your own use of social media? Why
or why not? In what ways?
Yes, this assignment has changed the complete scenario of how I see the usage
of social media in regular day to day life. I felt that the need of social media has been
decreasing. I felt that the entire day can be spent fruitfully even without the usage of

the social media. The usage of social media has lost the credibility of the project. I
also wanted the fact that the management of life cycle has been getting performed in a
better manner. This also helped me in understating the fact that social media has been
performing well.
5. Was your disconnection difficult for others in your life? Who? Why? In what
ways?
No this was not very difficult for me as this section helps us in understanding
the fact that the management of the project will be provided better prosecution of the
regular day to day life.
