1TECHNOLOGY IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION
The use of technology in colleges and schools has some of the great effects on not
only students, but also teachers as well. Today, most think of technology as computers, but it
is much more than that. The use of the technology and information technology has become
the backbone of the education system in the modern times (Bakir, Nesrin) The use of
technology have helped a lot for enhancing the studies of the students of the modern
generation. Yet the excessive use of the technology also have some of the major
disadvantages in the educational filed.
In the previous times, the education in the industries the concept of pen and paper and
debate played some of the most important roles in educating a child. The concept of the
debate have some of the major effects in studies. In a class room when two or more groups of
people debate on a topic it enhances the knowledge all the members’ present in the debate

problem. In order to communicate to other distant students, students would have to wait to
meet them. Most students today use technology throughout their school day. Uses for
technology can be found for every subject matter a student has. In the recent times, with the
use of the technology have helped in many ways (Huber, Lesa, and Carol Watson). One of
the major sector that technology have helped is communication. Students can communicate to
one other in a fraction of time using the messaging and social media services. Other than this
students can post questions in Google and get answers for the same. Also for the process of
checking of answer sheets of the students, technology plays an important role (Selwyn, Neil,
and Keri Facer). Thus it can be said that technology have helped a lot in the process of
gaining knowledge and spreading of knowledge. Students can read and learn from online
articles and sources in order to enhance the studies.

the classroom. In some of the recent studies it have been revealed that majority of the
students those carry laptops or mobile phone in the classroom does not use it only for the
purpose of study. It have often been seen that students only use the gadgets for chatting with
friends, play movies and do other things. This is a major misuse of the permission and
allowance of using technology for non-ethical usage.
Hence, permissions must be granted in such a way that students use the gadgets for
the educational purpose only. Inside the institute, technology is only meant for educational
purposes and must not be misused.
