INTRODUCTION
Present study is based on health care service improvement. The main agenda of
conducting this study is to identify effectiveness of implementing advance technologies in
improving health care services of hospitals (Free and et.al, 2013). Current research project will
discuss current health care services of NHS. Furthermore, impact of technologies on health care
services to patients will be explained in the study.
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Technologies are improving and upgrading with rapid speed. Continuous developments
are making changes in the lives of human being and it helps in providing quality services to
patients in the hospitals as well (Free and et.al, 2013). Use of advance technologies help medical
professionals in providing quality care services to users and improving their health conditions.
Practitioners are using advance technologies in order to treat the patients well. X-ray machines,
scan machines, communication mediums, record keeping techniques now have been upgraded
and hospitals are able to identify health care needs of patients and provide them care as per their
requirements (World Health Organization, 2013).
Earlier records show that death rate was very high in UK but with the technological
advancement doctors have become able to provide quality services to users so that they can live a
healthy life (Importance of Technology in Health Care and hospitals, 2017). With the help of the
latest equipment diagnostics of the patients have become easy for the doctors. MRI technologies,
radiologists etc. tools are being used by medical professions in order to examine the situation of
the health care users (Groves and et.al, 2016).
RATIONALE OF THE STUDY
In-spite of several changes in the health care services death rate of population is
increasing rapidly. Technologies have helped in the health care sector in minimizing this ration
and it can also support in improving the healthcare services of hospitals. With the help of this
study scholar will be able to identify importance of technologies in the medical industry. That
would help doctors ad other medical professionals in identifying their loop falls and
implementing the changes in the system (Kvedar, Coye and Everett, 2014). Furthermore, with

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research methodology is the analysis tool through which research can gather realistic
information about the topic and can conduct the investigation in effective manner. In the present
research project scholar will take support of interpretivism philosophy. The study would involve
theories and models thus use of this tool would be better for the researcher. Because with the
help of this method scholar will be able to collect in-depth detail about the effectiveness of
technology in the health care service improvement. Furthermore, investigator will take support of
descriptive research design (Importance of Technology in Health Care and hospitals, 2017). This
method will help the researcher in describing each aspect in detail and getting realistic
information about the technologies and its impact on health care service improvements. In the
present study data will be gathered by involving human being in the investigation. For collecting
detail about the effectiveness of implementation of the technologies in the health care service
improvident researcher will take support of primary data collection sources. Probability
sampling will be selected by the scholar, individual will use random sampling technique this will
help in minimizing the biasness. For analysing the information researcher will use thematic
analysis tool this would be better for the qualitative type of study.
LIMITATION
Time would be major constrain in this study for the researcher in such limited period
individual would feel difficulty in completing the study. Scholar would not be able to involve

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Research Title
“Healthcare service improvement”
Introduction and Background
Technology plays significant role in the organization, it helps in improving operations of
the firm and support in meeting with the needs of customers. As per the view of committee on
quality of health care has described that health care system of nation is not providing quality care
services to diligent (Free and et.al, 2013). Use of advanced technology can assist in improving
quality of services in hospitals. Quality of system is judged by looking at the impact of services
on patient's health condition. Use of technologies in hospitals can support health care
professional in gathering good information about health status of enduring and they can identify
problems effectively. This can assist in providing quality care to these suffered persons so that
their well being can get improved soon. These technologies aid in reducing errors and medical
professionals can make sound clinical decisions for the welfare of diligent (Skinner and Staiger,
2015).
Most effective technologies used in care homes are such as electronic patient records,
portable computers, database with online query, automated capturing of data, etc. Doctors and
nursing staff can collect information by medical illness of patient by applying alternative tests.
For implementing these tests they require updated machineries so that they can examine the
condition of patient well and can provide them treatment accordingly. It helps in serving than
better and meeting with their health care needs (Folland, Goodman and Stano, 2016).
Present study will discuss effectiveness of implementing advance technology in
improving health care services. Furthermore, it will explain current health care services of NHS.
It will also describe impact of technology on health care services to patients. In addition,
importance of implementing advance technology in improving health care services will be
illustrated in this research project.
Rationale of the research
Death rate in Australia is increasing with the rapid speed. Doctors are unable to get
sufficient information about patients (Sun and et.al, 2013). That is why they feel unable to give
proper treatment to these persons. It is essential to improve health care services which is only
6

possible by implementing technologies in the hospitals. Through this investigation scholar will
be able to describe importance of these techniques and reducing death rate as well. Most of the
medical professionals are not aware with these advance techniques and they have no knowledge
about these equipments. This study will make them aware with the advantage of technology and
they will be able to provide quality care to these suffered persons.

CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW
Current health care services of the NHS
As per the view of Jones and et.al, (2014) health care services play significant role in the
society and human life. Many people are suffering from various disease and they expect to get
quality treatment in hospitals. But if they do not get timely services then they feel demotivated.
Currently most of the hospitals are not providing their patients well services. Waiting time for
treatment is too lengthy and most of the time doctors fail to understand the medical needs of
patients as well. It creates difficult situation for them because their health gets the worst due to
delay in getting treatment.
According to Hunink and et.al, (2014)current health care services of NHS are good
enough, higher authority monitor working of hospitals and provide them necessary resources so

that medical professionals perform their duties well. Whenever patient enter into the hospital
and discussed about their illness then doctors operate them and examine their situation. It helps
in identify medical needs of the person and then they provide them treatment accordingly. These
nursing staff have good expense and those who are new to the system they get continuous
monitoring by their senior authorities. On other hand Middleton and et.al, (2013) argued that
government has made many legislation in order to improve health care services in the nation. All
hospitals are following these laws. That is why patients are getting quality care services in
hospitals. Every year audit is being done in all hospitals in which NHS identify the working
practices of care homes. If there is some loop fall then authorities highlights these issues and
indicate them to improve these issues.
As per the view of Giger, (2016) currently patients are not getting advance treatment for
their disease in the hospitals. Most of the doctors do not have knowledge about the latest
treatment equipments. Due to poor finance resources care homes are not able to implement these
costly machineries in their hospitals. Due to these issues these nursing staff are unable to
examine the condition of these suffered persons thus people do not get quality care in the
hospitals. There is essential to implement technology in the system so that health care services of
the care homes can be improved soon.
Impact of technology on health care services to patients
As per the view of Bert and et.al, (2014) technology impact on the each and every aspect
of society. There is no industry which does not get affected by technologies. Diagnosis is most
important part of health care system. Electronic devices are helpful in managing and recording
data. By this way nursing staff will be able to maintain records of patients well. That would help
in providing treatment to any person in future as well because these recorded data will help the
doctors in measuring the condition of suffered person. Technology supports in reducing waiting
time of treatment. Persons can be able to get appointment online and they will also be able to get
treatment of suggestion from medical professionals through online sites.
According to Free and et.al, (2013) technology does not impact on the health care
services to great extent. Doctors have experience and they diagnose patients properly and
provide them treatment accordingly. Most of the hospitals are having good equipments which
helps in examining the situation of care users. On other hand Giger, (2016) argued that use of
technology helps in improving communication between patient and care providers. Medical
8

professionals can take support of social media tools to provide treatment to such persons those
who are unable to visit hospitals frequently. Latest equipments can support in managing records
electronically. This can support in providing care in future as well by looking at the medical
history of individual. This data assists in providing accurate and quality treatment to such
patients. By this way death rate can be minimized in the hospitals. Electronic medical data base
also supports in minimizing waiting time of patients. This enhances satisfaction level of these
persons and they discuss their issues with doctors properly.
According to Hunink and et.al, (2014) medical professionals have not much knowledge
about the latest equipments. So in-spite of implementing the latest machinery in the care homes
there are requited to train the staff members. By this way they will able to identify condition of
person well and will be able to treat them well.
Importance of implementing advance technology in improving health care services
According to Giger, (2016) implementation of advance technology in the hospitals are
important. This can help in improve care services of hospitals and doctors may be able to treat
patients well. Use of electronic data management tool is beneficial can assist in identifying care
needs of patients. By this way doctors will be able to diagnose patients properly. This may help
in improving health care services of the hospitals.
As per the view of Skinner and Staiger, (2015) use of advance equipments can supports
in keeping the data confidential and saving medical history of patients for the long time. By this
way medical professionals will be able to provide health care services to these suffered persons
in future as well. Jones and et.al, (2014) argued that technology does not play important role in
the health care system, knowledge and experience of practitioner matters a lot. If care provider
has sufficient knowledge then individual can be able to provide the patients quality care services
in hospitals.
CHAPTER 3 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Theoretical Perspective
Research philosophy is the essential theoretical perspective of research methodology.
This tool support the scholar in demonstrating the subject matter in effective manner. In the
present investigation on effectiveness of using technology in improving health care services of
NHS. This methods has supported the researcher in conducting the research in subjective manner

qualitative in nature thus, use of descriptive research design has helped in gathering and
determining facts about the topic in effective manner (Sun and et.al, 2013).
Data collection
It is most important part of research projects. In the absence of quality information
scholar can not be able to get valid results. For the present investigation scholar has applied
primary data collection source. In this manner individual has use questionnaire technique and has
asked questions with medical professionals in order to gather information about technology and
health care service improvement. Researcher has also used secondary data collected tools such as
books, journals. Both these methods has helped the researcher in describing the situation in
effective manner (Folland, Goodman and Stano, 2016).
Sampling techniques
In the present research project researcher has applied random sampling method. This has
helped in collecting quality information from the random samples. Individual has selected 10
medical professional as sample for participating in the investigation.
Data presentation
Data presentation and analysis is most important part of study it helps in analysing facts
properly. In the current study scholar has applied thematic data analysis method and has used
graphs, charts in order to present the facts about the effectiveness of technology in improving
health care services of NHS (Skinner and Staiger, 2015).
Reliability and validity
All the data which have been collected for the present investigation are reliable and
scholar has collected these details from reliable and valid sources. This information has
supported in reaching to the final results and meeting with the objective of the investigation.
