1. My Contribution to selection of Topic, Problem Definition and Research Questions
Selection of a topic and submission of a topic selection report was the first deliverable of
the assignment. My contribution was more towards the identification of the problem statement
and development of the research question. I provided the needed guidance to the team in
selection of the research topic. Out team had focused on working on a topic based on
management of technology and innovation. Our idea behind selection of this particular topic was
to work on a topic that will be helpful in managing the organizational processes. The focus area
of our research is Australia. After finalization of the topic, I along with another team member
had undertaken a brief and a preliminary literature review to identify the problem definition.
After documentation of the problem definition, I have identified three distinct research questions
on basis of which entire research will be formulated. The completion of identification of the
problem definition, research question and topic approval submission, I had prepared the team
charter to delegate specific roles and responsibility to each of the team members associated with
this research project.
The initial experience starting from topic selection to identification of the research
questions was quite good. I have learnt about the need of choosing a realistic topic to deliver a
meaningful research result. In this course, I have learnt about the process and technique of
identification of an effective research question. It is necessary to identify a proper research
question as it will guide the development of the protocol and the design of the research study.
My lecturer had instructed me to focus more on identification of accurate research questions as it
provides an idea of the processes that researcher is trying to find out and therefore I put an
emphasis on correctly identifying the research questions.

2. Contribution to Literature Review Report
After approval of the topic and the research idea, the main focus was provided on
reviewing the existing literature in this field. Literature review mainly provide a comprehensive
summary of the topic chosen for a particular research. The literature review mainly enumerate
and summarize the researches that are conducted in the field of study. Since the research
questions were identified by me, I had the responsibility of reviewing the existing literature and
the researches that have been done in the field of technology and innovation management.
For conducting the literature review, I had made use of Google scholar database to select
the related research papers and journals. I had shortlisted a number of journals for writing the
literature review. I had decided to use the journals from last 5 years to get a more accurate and
recent information about the topic. After finalization of the journals I would be using for the
review, I started writing the literature review. It took me 7 days to complete the same. I have got
the necessary help from my team members in structuring and proofreading the literature review.
My learning experience while writing the literature review was quite rich. I found the
entire process quite interesting as I got to evaluate the work of various authors regarding my
subject of interest. Also, in this course, I learnt about the importance of identifying the research
gap and developing a conceptual framework for the study. I needed input from my team
members regarding the correct structure of referencing and have got the needed help. I have
learnt a lot about structuring a research while working on the literature review. The literature
review provided a roadmap to further research in the topic.
3. Contribution towards Research Methodology Report

After completion of the detailed literature review, the next deliverable was to provide a
research methodology report. This was one of the most important stages of this research as it
identifies the tools and techniques required for execution and completion of a research. Prior to
documentation of the research methodology I had consulted my group to discuss about the
suitable methodology for the research. Identification of correct research method in necessary to
conduct the research in an accurate manner. I had arranged a group discussion session to decide
on the validity and the reliability of the chosen methods for the undertaken study.
I had undertaken a secondary research to research about various data collection and data
analysis tools. Initially I had faced certain complexities in choosing an appropriate method of
data collection and analysis. The entire research design and the methodology section was written
by me with input from the team members in selection of the interpretation and analysis method.
Identification of the research methodology had been a good learning experience for me as
I have learnt about different methods of data collection and analysis of the data. The entire report
of research methodology was prepared on basic of the aims and the objectives of the research.
This phase has been successfully executed with the help of the team members and also with the
support from my lecturer.
4. Reflection on Research Experience
These series of assignments had been a good learning experience for me in terms of
understanding the importance of literature review, need of identifying the literature gap and also
for identifying a correct method for the research. I did not face any major challenge in execution
of this task as I had a constant support from my team member, right from topic selection to

choosing a particular methodology that will be suitable for conducting the undertaken research.

A good team work is reflected in execution of this research study. Without the support of
the team, it was not possible to complete any of the assignments. Initially I had faced challenge
regarding the choice of an appropriate method for execution of the research study. The literature
review and the methods identification had been a good learning experience for me as it enabled
me to have a detailed understanding about the various processes, tools and techniques related to
the research. I have learnt about the key importance of identifying a research methodology in an
accurate manner. I had got a supporting team who have provided a needed help in management
of the key work processes running within an organization. My lecturer had provided me with the
needed guidance in successful completion of all the related assignments in this course. The
knowledge that I have gained in this course will help me in conducting similar researches in
future.
5. Sections I personally wrote
All the team members have equally contributed in successful completion of the
undertaken research. I have personal wrote the literature review section along with the
methodology report.
The experience has been quite enriching in terms of learning the essentials of a research.
The knowledge that I have gathered while working in this assignment will help me in gaining an
insight to the key necessities of a research and technique for undertaking and completing the
research in an effective manner. I have learnt about the different sampling technique, process of
data interpretation and analysis. These knowledge and experience will definitely help me to work

on major research projects in future. I am quite confident about my ability to properly identify
the research aims, objectives, methods and techniques in other research works.
