P4. Internal and external factors influencing management styles.
In organisations, every manager use its different management style which they apply to operate
organizational activity. In this context, there are various type of management style from which the best suitable
management style use by the manager in organisation. In organisation there are various internal and external
factors which affect management style. This external and internal factors mentioned below.
Internal factors: Company culture: Culture shows the personality of company. It is defined as the environment
in which employees are working. This company culture includes working environment, companies vision,
mission. Culture of the company also affect the management style. In this context, if the culture of Wa-Pila
hotels good than the manager use the lassies fair style of the management. In this management style manager
think that employees are capable for doing their task without any guidance. In this context, manager use
different technology which is effective in saving the time and also make the culture good of the organisation.
In this context, Wa-Pila hotels use power culture whrere the manager and leaders hold the power over
employees(Dhar, 2016). people from different religion, different age and cultures come together for work is
called employee diversity. In this context manager of Wa-Pila hotels use the participative styles in which
manager works closely with the employee and help them to succeed. In this context, manager should work with
employee having different background and understand them which encourage employee to work well in
organisation.
Internal factors
Transformation in organisational structure- If, top administration of the company make change in
the organisation's structure. Then, it affect the management style of managers of the firm. For example,
respective company make structural transformation like mergers, acquisitions and expansion to global markets.
Then it affect existing strategies and plans and administrators develop new polices regarding change.
Value system- It is another internal factor which highly affect the management style of mangers. For
example, if senior management make change in their decision making process , adopt autocratic style and do
not involve employees in decision making. Then it influence administrators management styles.

Technology: Technology gives a dramatical change in business environment. Leaders of Wa-Pila
hotels adjust their management styles to help the company to adopt the technology. This technology effective
in saving the time and also work done quickly. In this context, research and development helps the leader to
creating an innovative techniques that makes organisation operations easier.
Customers: In this context, customers are considered as the external factors. Manager of Wa-Pila
hotels use the effective management style which is effective in gain the trust of its customer. Manager can read
the behaviours of the customer but they cannot adopt changes which affect the sale.
External factors
Social and cultural factor- It is an external factor which highly affect the administrators style. If there
are change occurred in customers needs and demands due to their culture and trend. Then the management of
the company also make change their administration style so that they can fulfil their needs.
Laws and regulations- Changes in laws and regulations also affect the management style and
working style of the company. Trade polices, environment and health care laws also influence administrator
style. For example, respective organisation want to operate its business in another nations and the government
of that country make change in rules and laws then it affect the management of the company.

Good manager is the person who has some effective characteristics with he\she can apply in the organisation.

Management styles are defined as the method of directing and implementing the wrkforce in
organisation. This style is considered as the ability and techniques which is use by manager to handling the
situation and way of expressing leadership within organisation. In this context, there are various type of
management style such as autocratic, democratic , transactional, laissez fair etc. in autocratic style decisions
are taken by the leader in this no involvement of subordinate in organisation. Employee get demotivated and
feel less valued . In place of autocratic style manager should use democratic style where involvement of
subordinate is included. With this style employee feel valued and work effectively in organisation.
Present Leadership: In most of the organisation, presently the leadership style that has been adopted
is Democratic Leadership Style as with the help of this it could be possible for the company to encourage their
employees to participate in the organisation’s working and also the employees are now more capable as
compared to earlier times.
Past Leadership: Earlier, the organisation makes use of Autocratic Leadership Style as in this
leadership style, the main power to make decisions lies in the hands of only one individual as the business
operations were not done on large scale and low employee capability.
Future Leadership: It is possible in future the companies may make use of situational leadership style
as the situation will change according to time in future and this will help in delegating more power to the
subordinates.
