tremendously. Almost every sector and domain of business requires quick decision making and
execution of actions in order to succeed in their respective areas and regions of operations. This
has made the managers and authorities of business and trades to use high end and technologically
advanced devices to carry out their activities and operations of management related to their
respective businesses. The purpose of the following report is to evaluate the different ways that
are used by managers of businesses from various domains to utilize Tablets for supporting their
decision making processes. The report will cover the entire positive as well as the negative
aspects of using Tablets in order to make the decisions related to business processing, operations,
management and even monitoring. This will also discuss the significance of using mobile
decision support and other use of technology to carry out the important operations. Another
major scope of this report will be the descriptions related to the implementation and usage of
hand held devices like tablets and how these devices can catapult the operations regarding profit,
quality decision making, efficient management and monitoring of systems related to business.

significance of using Mobile Business Intelligence along with the different areas in business that
involves the usage of the same has been highlighted in the Article. The different stages that the
technology has gone through have been mentioned in the article including 3G transmission
through wireless communication technology that helped in revolutionizing the Business
Intelligence technology (Buchana and Naicker, 2014).
2. Influence of Task Individual Technology Fit on the Attitude and Performance of
User
This particular journal has described the different uses of Task Individual Technology fit into
the domain of Business Management and decision making process. In addition, the prime
components of this technology fit have been included in the journal along with the explanation of
its functions with the usage of a flowchart. The Informative Guidance Design has been explicitly
described with the usage of technical specifications. It can be said that the primary research that
has been done in making the journal has provided explicit results regarding Task Individual
Technology Fit (Parkes 2013).

Significance of Technology in Modern Business
The use of technology has increased tremendously in the modern times. This is because
technologically advanced devices and ways of doing business reduce time that is needed for
operating any business and monitor the same. Moreover, the technology can be depended upon
as a very reliable source for efficient calculations and conversions into different forms.
According to Laudon and Laudon (2016), with the usage of technology, the calculations of
numerical and statistical units and quantities can be easily done, and they can also be converted
in to different forms like Graphs and pie charts and other understandable as well as convenient
data formats. In addition to this, the various tasks like communicating with a person over a long
distance can be done in fractions of seconds with the use of technology. This can be done by
more conveniently by using a hand held devices like laptops and tablets and connecting them to
the internet. It can be stated that tablets are the most convenient sources and mediums of online
operations. This is because of the lightweight nature of Tablets and wireless modem devices and
pods. This enables the user to have a conference call with multiple other users simultaneously.
The operations can also be done from any specific place as the user or manager does not need to
be at his office for operations. As per Bočková et al. (2016), the business related operations can
also do while travelling, which gives it a tremendous advantage over other ways and methods of
doing business.
Origin of the usage of Tablets in Business
The use of computers for business operations has been in existence since the early
twentieth century. The efficiency of computers in calculations and other statistical operations
makes to very compatible for using different operations. As mentioned by Xiao et al. (2016), the
fashion of using macro computers like I-pads and tablets came into being in 2010 when it was

introduced by Apple Incorporation. Since then, the purchase and usage of Tablets have been
increasing tremendously in almost every sector of business. In the current scenario, the
businesses are carried out in different regions, and the operational locations are present at
multiple places. In addition, the trades between two or more parties are increasing every day.
This has increased the interaction that is needed for doing business. Since, it is not possible for
the managers and other authorities of business located at various locations to interact among
themselves, the need of using tablets and other devices increases significantly. Lanza et al.
(2017) have mentioned that managers became very mobile with the increase in the competition
in the market of business as everyone is striving to be the frontrunner in his respective domain.
As a result of this, the management authorities, strategists and other decision making staff
needed to be on their toes for taking quick decisions. Hence, they started using tablets so that
they can interact with their consultants and advisors as well as they can check the current status
of every parameter related to their business.
Theory of Task Technology Fit
The theory of Task Technology Fit or TTF Theory can be described as the study that
discusses the different aspects of decision making with the support of technology, especially
Tablets. As specified by Nicholas and Steyn (2017), the Task Technology Fit Theory talks about
the characteristics of all the three different aspects, which are the Tablets, Managerial Tasks and
the Management level authorities. The Tablet characteristics are all about the different properties
of tablets like agility, light weight and mobility of hand held devices. This enables the managers
to take quick decisions related to their business and other areas. On the other hand, the
characteristics of managerial tasks and decisions are all about the various types of tasks that are
required to be done by the management staff in order to make their business survive as well as

perform. The third characteristic that is the characteristics of managers is all about the different
types of ways and methods that are used by managers for getting their tasks done. This includes
the specialized techniques and ways that a manager uses for analysing the data and making his
decisions as per the scenarios. This might vary from one person to another (Jernigan et al. 2016).
According to Peppard and Ward (2016), the Technology Task theory is constructive
regarding decision making as it is a combination of every different way. This ensures that all the
characteristics are compared and the best and most compatible with the decision that needs to be
taken. Moreover, the different characteristics of different managers and management tasks
decide the factor of success for any particular organization. This is because the different ways
that have been used to take the correct decision as per the urgent situation are significant.
However, Shim et al. (2016) has stated that the characteristics of Tablets do not matter much
regarding decision making of different managers from various domains because the features are
same or quite similar to each other. The tablets that are manufactured by different firms might
have different characteristics, but the primary and basic operations remain the same. The
managers can choose the tablets for themselves depending on the different characteristics and the
essentiality of different task related to their business operations. This enables them to work with
the tablets as per their requirements. The security and performance levels of Tablets are also
different when compared among themselves regarding performances and characteristics. Hence,
the managers are supposed to choose the best and the most compatible tablets as per their roles
and responsibilities. As per Li et al. (2016), the tablets that consist of high-performance
compositions like RAM and processors are preferred by managers that generally use these
devices for high end operations and business activities. Moreover, the specialized features that
are available in the Tablets are important to be considered as per the business needs. In addition

to the hardware part of any tablet, it is extremely necessary to be very specific about the software
selection. The different software that consists of the complete program of any tablet is important
as they can be used for operations like complicated calculations and conversions of statistical
data and modules into a pie chart and graphical forms (Kim et al. 2016).
Additional References
The article has presented some aspects that are necessary for maintaining the values and
credibility of different parameters. The significance of using mobile devices like cell phones,
tablets, web cameras and many other devices have been described in the article with
justifications related to the advantages of using the same. The competitive advantages that can be
achieved by a person or manager by using the devices like tablets are explicitly described by the
article and the different areas that require the usage of these devices have also been described.
Following are the different areas that have supported the arguments that have been given in the
referred article as per the one that has been given. The prime areas of significances and the
relation of these articles with the earlier considered ones have been majorly described.
Management and discussions among authorities
The tablets can be used in order to discuss the important aspects of business among the
different managers and authorities that are located around the world. As stated by Ross (2016),
the various authorities which operate from different parts of the world are currently using tablets
for interacting with each other among themselves through video calling over the tablets. This
technique is beneficial when it comes to discussing the current circumstances and scenarios of
business in any of the branches. This ensures that the decision that is taken by the authorities is
done after considering all the important aspects and parameters (Kim and Preis, 2016). For

example, if there is a business that has got its operations based in many locations around the
world, the managers can interact with each other by communicating through video conferencing.
They can discuss the performance of their respective branches and departments verbally and can
suggest better ideas among themselves. Another important significance of using a tablet is that
the management people can simultaneously interact with each other as well as check the
statistical reports online in a new window. This helps them make the operations more effective
(Lingens et al. 2016).
Monitoring of Currently ongoing operations
This is one of the most important features of using a tablet as the current operations can
be monitored accurately using tablets and other hand held devices like mobile phones. The
online business involves the investment of shares by many investors and shareholders in any
particular company (Wang et al. 2016). As a result of this, the managers need to monitor the
activities that are going online in the share market. Depending on the performance of their
company in respective markets, they are supposed to make the certain decision in favour of their
company. Hence, the usage of tablets makes it very easy for them to carry on with their work.
This further helps them to deliver their instructions to their juniors as well as other counterparts
so that the desired actions can be implemented successfully. Al-Somali and Baghabra (2016)
have stated that the data related to company performances like manufacturing of the products
associated with the companies, status of material procurements and details related to the retails
sector need to be maintained very accurately. Hence, the usage of technology plays a significant
role in accurate calculations and securing the data as it can be done in the online servers that are
administered by the company itself. Moreover, the data stored in the servers are very secure and
can be fetched very easily as compared to other means of data storage. This gives tremendous

advantages to the managers that use tablets for decision making purposes as they can take
effective decisions on a very short notice (Rahimi et al. 2016).
Competitive Advantages to the Managers using Tablets
As opined by Pearlson et al. (2016), the managers that use tablets and other hand held
quick devices for their work purposes have a competitive advantage over the other people that
use other methods. The main factor of advantage that is gained by these managers is the Time.
The time that is utilized by managers in the discussion of the data and making their decisions as
per them is very much. Hence, the time needs to be minimized to increase the efficiency of the
operations. Therefore the tablets can be essential aspect regarding reducing the time while
performing the operations. As a result of this, the data analysis and discussion among the
managers from different parts and locations of the company assets and installations are done in
very less time. Moreover, Spohrer (2017) has stated that the time that is saved by the managers
can be used to initiate other business and operations related to the same. This, in turn, gives the
managers an opportunity for doing better calculations and analysis related to the necessary data
of the company's processes.
Article Relevance to Allocated paper
The article that has been provided for review is very much relevant to the allocated paper
as this has described the different functions that are done or can be done by using the tablets. The
different aspects that are supposed to be considered in order to do a business perfectly have been
mentioned in the article. The paper has described the specific tasks that managers usually follow
for making the decisions related to their business and also what they do in order to ensure the
proper functioning of their tasks. Moreover, the different functions and characteristics of tablets
and their operations have also been mentioned. The most important part has been the description

of technical details and hardware specifications of tablets and other devices and their importance
in the world of business.
Literature Gap
Despite having many relevant factors, it can be stated that there are many dissimilarities
and literature gaps between the considered literature articles. The sectors that highlight the
differences between the articles comprise of mainly technical details. The article that has been
considered for review has included many details related to the sectors like hardware technical
details, software advantages and some other similar technical areas of descriptions. The allocated
article that has been provided has mainly focused on the usage of tablets and the advantages that
are enjoyed by the managers and other important people related to business regarding enhancing
their business productions and corporate images. However, the other article that has been
considered for the study has described the similar things along with the technical details. The
latter article has mainly focused on the technical specifications of tablets and how do they vary
as per the need of different businesses. Following are the different literature gaps that have been
found between the allocated paper and the article that has been considered for review.
Memory of Tablets
This description of tablets has been given in the later considered article as it describes the
amount of memory that is present in a Tablet. According to Garrigos-Simon et al. (2016), the
tablets are miniature forms of computers that are used for doing the operations in a portable
manner. The memory and other specifications of tablets are just like any other computer that is
divided into two types namely the Random Access Memory or RAM and the Read Only
Memory or the ROM. The Random Access Memory is used while fetching any particular and

specific operation that is being carried out during a task. In case of heavy duty operation the
RAM in very important. If the RAM of a tablet is very high and adequate for business
operations, they can be used for multiple operations. Hence, Sadgrove (2016) has suggested in
the article that the business personnel and managers that have to deal with bigger operations
should use tablets that have higher RAM. This enables them to do their operations in a higher
quantity by opening multiple tabs on their computer. For example, if a manager has to
communicate with the other authorities located around the world or even in different parts of the
country, they can open up the video calling window and chat with them verbally by discussing
important areas of business operations.
Along with the video calling, they can also open up multiple tabs and windows into the
same tablet to check the statistical details of their company performances and share market
conditions. In addition to this, Lientz and Rea (2016) has described that the screens of multiple
users can also be shared while having a video chat. Moreover, the people that use tablets can
store an enormous amount of data in it and carry it where ever they need to go. This gives them
tremendous advantages as they don't need to be at the office in front of their computer systems
all the time in order to do their work. Hence, the usage of Tablets is essential as it helps to store a
huge amount of data without using any physical space (Murphy et al. 2016).
Processor Speed of Tablets
The speed of operations in tablets depends hugely on the processor that is present inside
it. The tablets that have high and more powerful processors are likely to handle operations in a
better manner. The speeds of operation that are provided by the tablets with high processors are
way better than those tablets with the nominal amount of processors (Iskandarova et al. 2016).
The processors that are more powerful can speedily do multiple tasks compared to others. This

also ensures that the tasks that are done more accurately. The business operations that require a
huge amount of mathematical calculations statistical data analysis require many operations to be
done at the same time. Hence, it is recommended that the managers that need to their operations
as per the heavy usage of parameters and calculations should use tablets that have very high
processor speed.
The Internet and Inbuilt Software
This Internet and software that are installed in the tablets are some of the other literature
gaps that have been provided in the considered article. The latter article has mentioned about the
different software that is used for carrying out the business operations in the business industry.
Regarding data calculations, Liu and Guo (2017) have described that some specific softwares are
considered by managers. In addition to this, the Internet speed also matters a lot when it is about
downloading the different applications and data related to the business operations. Hence, the
speed of Internet should be sufficient enough so that the work can be done in a very smooth
manner. The operations that need specialized software should be done in the same in order to do
it quickly and more efficiently. The apps and softwares that are used for doing video calls also
vary from each other regarding quality and amount of data that is consumed. Hence, the best
softwares and applications are to be installed by managers while doing their operations (De Vita
and Case, 2016).
Conclusion
After doing the above study, it can be said that the operations related to business in the
modern world need the usage of technology and advanced internet based devices in order to
excel in the business. The above report has described the different aspects that are considered in

regards to the decision making process of the managers. This has discussed the significance of
