Introduction
Background
In the health care sectors, the technology advancement is needed for the cancer
treatment and there have been various amazing technological advancement in the last year like
human head transplants, heart in a box, leadless pacemakers, advanced immunotherapy to treat
cancer (Anthopoulos et al., 2016). The information technology is one of the important tools for
improving healthcare services. For adopting the right technologies, the policymakers need to
have adequate information regarding the present and future advances of cancer treatment
(Roski, Bo-Linn & Andrews, 2014). This research study will aim to review and compare the
studies by focusing on future technological advancement in treating cancer in healthcare
sectors. This study will follow the method of collection of the databases by both the primary
and secondary method. The research study will be based on the data collected and the analysis
of data and will also include the comparison of the scholar articles. This research study will
find out the impact of technology advancement in the health care sectors in respect to cancer
treatment and the identification of the medical ground where the technology advancement is
necessary.
Problem statement
There is a need of the proper investigation in the behavioural patterns, which
influences the cancer risks and cancer recurrence. There is also requirement of the proper
analysing patterns of the cancer care in the different health care settings. For such reasons, it is
important to consider the impact of the technology advancement in the cancer treatment in the

oncology area can provide solution to this challenges.
Purpose statement
The purpose of this research study is to conduct the survey process involving the
employee of the health care organizations for finding out the impact of the technology
advancement in the oncology area of the health care sectors.

Ethical consideration
The ethical guidelines will be followed in a research study that is there will be not be
delay in the submission of the outcome of the research work. The primary data would not be
collected forcefully from the respondents. The research work will avoid the plagiarism issues
and any kind of approach will not be taken that will violate the norms and regulations of the
research study (Quinlan et al., 2019).
Limitations
The research study generally follows the number of limitations, no matter how well it
is planned. The time for the collection of data are the limitation issue in every research work.
In addition, the research study may be limited or are delayed for gaining permissions of the
interview dates (Kruthika & Manjunatha, 2018).
Literature review
According to Chetty et al., (2015), the radiation therapy plays a great role in the
personalized cancer treatment that has been benefited from the technological advances. The
technology advances are associated with the growing ability for identifying and targeting the
tumors with the accuracy and the precision. In the radiation oncology sector these technology
advances have helped in bringing success of the radiation therapy, these radiation therapy has
played the significant role of the significant component of the cancer care, American society
for radiation oncology (ASTRO), NIH and NCI has arranged theresearch work for bringing
innovations in the radiation oncology sector. The main purpose of this study is to discuss
about the emerging technology in this field and also to identify the areas of the greater

investment. This study involves the expert clinicians and the scientist while discussing about
the innovations in this field that is to identify how the technologies have been developed and

opportunities. The major theme of this study is to find out the growing importance of the
innovations in the process of the automation and oncology informatics.
Gillies, Kinahan & Hricak (2015), describes the process of the radiomics, its
challenges and the potential power of radiomics. This helps in facilitating the better clinical
position of the decision-making and in taking proper care of patients with cancer. The
advances from the past time have facilitated the development methods for the high extraction
of the qualitative features that result in the conversion of the images to the mineable data and
the subsequent analysis of data, this process is termed as radiomics. This study showed the
importance of the radiomic data consisting of the first, second and the higher order statistics.
The radiomic data analysis are need to be conducted along with the standard care images as it
is more conceivable to find out the conversion of the digital image to the mineable data and
this will become the routine practice. This study mainly elaborates the process of the
radiomics, their challenges and the potential power for facilitating the better clinical decision
making in the care of patients with cancer.

Methodology
Research Worldview
For this research, constructivism method is selected because the characteristics of
constructivism support achieving the research aim and objectives. The use of constructivism
method provides an opportunity to recognize that reality is a product of human intelligence
that interacts with the experience of the real world (Annansingh & Howell, 2016). Thus, the
inclusion of human activity while knowing the reality highlights the use of constructivism
method. Cardinal Health is a well-known organization in the healthcare sector whose
technological advancements in the oncology area is analyzed. In analyzing it, the different
perspectives of the humans are included that signifies the inclusion of human mental activity
in knowing the reality of technological advancement in oncology area of Cardinal Health, the
healthcare organizations (Li & Guo, 2015).
Research design
This research study will follow the qualitative research design that observes and
interviewee’s people. This research approach is based on the constructivism that enables to
research depending upon the observations of people and analyses it through the qualitative
methods. This research approach may include statistics but they do not use numbers to find
them. The research will be based on the qualitative designs that are following the
constructivism theory that promotes the student’s agency to follow the developed skills like
the critical thinking’s, evaluation and the creation (O'Connor, 2015). This can be used as the

Research Strategy
The different types of research strategies are grounded theory, case study,
hermeneutics, ethnography and phenomenology. The concept of grounded theory highlights
the systematic methodology in research that focuses on developing or constructing theories by
gathering and analyzing data methodically. This theory operates inductively and is different
from that of deductive approach (Glaser & Strauss, 2017). On the other hand the concept of
case study research highlights the empirical inquiry that investigates a phenomenon within the
real-life context. It is used widely in social studies and allows descriptive and exploratory
analysis of group, events or individuals. In the case of ethnographic research, the researchers
indulge themselves completely in the cultures, lives and situations of the field of study
(Flazon, 2016). Hermeneutics research strategy includes all types of communication such as
both verbal and non-verbal. Phenomenology research strategy emphasizes on the living
experience within a specific group. This strategy facilitates interviewing the specific group of
individuals those have firsthand experience and knowledge about the experience, event or
situation (Padilla-Diaz, 2015).
Considering the information presented, it can be said that phenomenology research
strategy is the best-suited because this would allow interviewing the employees in the Cardinal
Health, as they would be able to share their experience and knowledge about the technological
advancement in the oncology area of the hospital (Strang, 2015).
Data collection method
The different types of primary data collection methods are open-ended questionnaire,
focus group, panel, observations, videos and interviews. Each of the data collections have

distinctive characteristics that is analyzed in accordance with the research topic before using it.
Survey is one of the most commonly used data collection methods that include asking
questions to the population with relevant experience and knowledge (Mai, 2016). Focus group
data collection is defined as the method that gathers 5-10 people in a room and asks for
feedback regarding a product, service or scenario (Then, Rankin & Ali, 2014). Panel group
includes group of people discussing a particular topic in front of a selected audience (Ando &
Bai, 2016). Interview s defined as the process of meeting people face-to-face for consultation
(Robinson, 2014).
For this research, face-to-face interview is selected as the primary data collections that
facilitate meeting the employees of Cardinal Health and understand the technological
advancements of in oncology area of the hospital. As a result, the past technologies used in the
oncology area of Cardinal Health can be discussed along with taking a dig in the recent
technologies installed in the oncology area (Lewis, 2015).
Data analysis method
As this research study will follow the qualitative data analysis, the data are collected
will be analyzed using 3-level coding data analysis process. The use of 3-level coding is best
suited because as the interview is based on time, face-to-face communication with the patients
is expected that helps in knowing the technological advancements in the oncology area in the
hospital. All the relevant and specific information needs to be collected from the patients that
came to the oncology area in the Cardinal Health (Boddy, 2016).

Research population
This research purpose is to find out the impact of the technology advancement for the
health care sectors. This can be found out by surveying the employees working in the health
care organizations, as they are the ones who will be properly able to describe the scenarios of
the health care sectors without the technology advancement and the ultimate needs of the
technology advancements in the society. The research work has chosen the 200 employees of
Cardinal Health working in the oncology area for determining the technological
advancements.
Sample
This research study will be expected to follow the interviewing 10 employees as
samples from the population size of 100 in Cardinal Health working in the oncology area and
they will be asked to participate in the interview including the managers of the oncology area
of Cardinal Health. They will be asked to state their point of views regarding the impact of the
technology advancement in the health care sectors. The sampling method that this research
study will follow is and the non-probability sampling technique. (Singh & Masuku, 2014).
