increasing which becomes necessary for company success and growth. Now every operation is
done by organisation with the help of technology (Selvarajoo, 2019). They found that technology
make the functions easy which becomes necessity of today's life. Technology helps in taking
competitive advantage from the market if organisation adopted it. There are more other benefits
of technology that enjoys by organisations. This is the reason for every organisation to focus on
adopting technology in business. This report covers a case study of Arden University which
shows that how much technology is important for success and growth of organisation. It also
covers data privacy measures and explanation of cellular networks.

including education sector. It is identified that big data plays an important role in education
sector as it quite significantly in higher education such as for Arden University. Big data is a
term which refers to a large volume of data that include on structured and unstructured which
collected on a daily basis. It is important for an organisation that they should understand the
importance of use of big data instead of volume. Big data is used for analysis of insights which
helps in taking better decisions and moves for organisations. Education sector increases the use
of big data in order to improve their functions and operations. Education chapter find out that it
becomes very helpful for taking decisions which ultimately benefits for growth and success of

organisation. With the help of big data education sector take a competitive advantage (Huang
and et.al.,2019). Arden University is using big data in order to collect relevant and important
information which may be become helpful in future. For that reason, Arden University makes a
learning and management system which is enable to track students when they logs onto that
system. It can be better understand with the help of analysing the rule of the data in Arden

students are stars of program. They take those players who boosting college programs as

pandemic situation, every University is now providing online courses so that they can

The reason behind cyber crimes is use of technology. It is very obvious that technology provides
so many benefits to organisations but with benefits they also generate challenges for organisation
that how they can secure their privacy (Boulton, 2019). Technology is increasing day by day
which shows that everything is now on internet. Organisations customers share their information
through internet or online portals. It increases the possibility of Cyber crimes as hackers are very
smart and intelligent in order to hack the information of their customers. It becomes very tough
for organisations that how they can secure their customers information as well as their own
important and confidential information. For that purpose, organisation must implement some IT
security and data privacy measures in their company. If organisations are able to implement IT
security and data privacy measures then they will definitely deal with cyber crimes. Some of the
IT security and data privacy measures are mentioned below:
 According to EU law, there is an act which is known as data protection law that concern
with security of data from hackers. For that purpose, companies need to register under
EU data protection law which secured the personal data by appropriate technical and
organisational measures (Willie, 2019). It actually comes under GDPR. It requires very
tight organisational policies, risk analysis, and technical and physical measures.
 Companies should make sure that their security measures give assurance of
confidentiality, availability and integrity in the provided systems. It is very important for
an organisation that doors measures which are taken by them should be meet by these
points.
 Organisation also focuses on restore access and availability should be very minimum and
in a right hands.

 It is suggested to the companies that they should adopt encryption policies. Encryption
policies are very important for securing the data of their clients. Encryption policies
ensure that the data is encrypted into another language which cannot be understood by
hackers (Wang, Shen and Williams, 2020). For that purpose companies make sure that
their encryption should not stop malicious actors accessing. It provides accessible or
understandable only for approved users. That means those persons who are not approved
e under encryption policies and they cannot access and understand that data.
 For data security and privacy, company should also focuses on password policy. That
means it is suggested and advised to organisation that they should make a strong
password. Password should be consists of all letters, special characters and numbers so
that no hackers can predict there password.

companies in order to process the personal data. GDPR please out many responsibilities for
companies so that they can ensure about their privacy and protection of personal data, assign
powers, and providing data subjects with rights to only regulators. That means they provide
accessibility and accountability to only those person who are responsible. Some key provisions
which should be understand by organisation:
 Data protection officer: It is necessary for an organisation to take a decision of
appointing a DPO or not. The appointment of DPO depends on the organisation needs.
DPO shouldbe appointed by public authorities, businesses which have a larger scale
operations relating to personal data, and businesses which uses personal data off of
customers or relating to criminal offences.
 Extra territorial effect: GDPR is applying by both EU businesses and non EU
businesses. That means it applies on those you businesses who use service outside from
EU so they are fall into GDPR' scope (Goh and Sandars, 2020). Whereas non EU
businesses which uses personal data of EU citizens related to any transaction such as
offering goods and services, etc. then they have to follow GDPR policies.
 Consent: It is the third provision which states that companies need to access the personal
data then they should firstly ask from data subject or GDPR. It is very important for

customer because their personal data is used by an organisation which comes beyond the
legitimate power.

access their personal data. In GDPR, every individual has many rights for the personal
data such as right to rectify, right to restrict, right of portability, right to erase, right to no
profiling, etc.

delay. It should be done within one month of receipt which is reduced from 40 days.

Concept of cellular network with their principle components
Cellular network is refers to a contact network which is wireless connection. That means
with the help of cellular network and individual or a group of person is able to communicate with
another person from different geographical location (Diestelmeier, 2019). It is identified that
network is now divided into cells which is provided by one fixed location transceiver station.
Transceiver stations are responsible for providing network coverage to each and every cell so

that individual can used data, send voice and any other types of information. In simple terms it
referred as a mobile network. It is identifying that every person is now using cellular phones as it
becomes luxury of person. In case of business world it becomes a necessity and they found that
without cellular phones they cannot run their transactions and business easily. That’s why many
organisations provide free cellular phones to their employees so that they can connect with them
in order to perform their jobs. Cellular network contain some important principal components
which are as follows:
 Basic station controller (BSC): It is concerned with interfaces between basic station
controllers and mobile switching centres. They are able to connect with basic installation
controller via microwave links or cables (Beynon-Davies, 2021). They also routing called
between mobile switching centre and basic station controllers.
 Base transceiver station (BTS): It is identified that this is most important part of phones
as it links with the subscriber to cellular network. It provide network through antennas in
all over the cell.
 Mobile switching centre (MSC): it is the supervisor of cellular network which act as a
link to several basic station controllers. It has a capability to connect cellular network
with other types of network. They can do that by using microwave cable, fibre optics and
copper cable.
These are the above components of cellular network which are very important to provide
services of network to each individual. Without them it is not possible for network
communication to provide network in their cells. Cellular network work with SIM cards that
means for connection with other cell it is important that it they have SIM card. They also should
have an antenna which helps them to transparent all mobile phones in everywhere. With the use
of transmitter, it generate an electrical signal which is converted into electromagnetic wave by
transmit antenna and then radiated to other cell phone. It can be returned back in the same way.
So this is the process of cellular network for how they work.
Benefits of cellular network to a business
 Cellular network become very beneficial for organisations as it provides them flexibility.
With the use of cell phone in organisation it directly increasing flexibility in the working
conditions (Dominic, Maitra and Parthiban, 2021). In simple word, if organisation wants

to communicate with their client who is not present at that place then they can
communicate with the help of using cell phones.
 Cell phone becomes the substitute of computers which results ease in work. Computers
are not portable and it becomes very difficult for organisation to send files and
documents. With the use of cell phones it becomes very easy because they are portable at
anywhere.
 Day by day globalisation is increasing which increases the chances of success and growth
of business. But for that purpose, companies need to connect with outsider businesses.
Cellular network becomes very helpful for organisations when they want to connect with
overseas organisations.

 The Sum, Median, Max and Min value of the Gross salary, taxes and Net salary of all
the employees of this organisation.
i) Sum: Formula of sum in excel is summation, the addition of numbers in
sequence. For summation of Gross salary the formula is = SUM (E4:E10).
Taxes sum is also calculated with this formula i.e. = SUM (F4:F10). The
last Net salary is calculated by = SUM (G4:G10).
ii) Mean: The average or mean calculated by this formula i.e. = Average
(E4:E10) for gross salary. It is similarly calculated for taxes and net salary.
iii) Median: It is calculated by = Median (E4:E10) of gross salary and it is
similarly calculated for net salary and taxes.
iv) Maximum value: It is calculated by = MAX (E4:E10) of gross salary and
it is similarly calculated for net salary and taxes
v) Minimum value: It is calculated by = MIN (E4:E10) of gross salary and it
is similarly calculated for net salary and taxes
 The number of employees with a gross salary more than £79900.00: It is identifying
that there are four employees that are Rexford, Morgan, Kara, and Rizwan who have
more than £79900.00 income.
 The number of employees with a Net salary less than £67499.99: In excel sheet, it is
find out that six employees whose names are Rexford, Kara, Kevin, Rizwan,
Whitney, and Billy that have salary less than £67499.99.

CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the above discussion that technology becomes very important
element of any organisation. This is very important for organisation that they should understand
the importance of technology as it plays a very important role. It is analysed that with the help of
technology organisation can obtain their objective with competitive edge. In this context, this
report also analyse the importance of big data for organisation. But at the same time it is
important for organisation that they should take measures in order to reduce Cyber crimes. It is
also find out that cellular network becomes very important for organisation.
