Report
AI Summary
This report explores the utilization of technology for organizing information within the context of academic research. It begins by highlighting the importance of information technology in expanding the scope of research and facilitating access to diverse sources. The discussion section delves into the role of the internet and the World Wide Web in modern research practices, emphasizing the broad definition of research as an activity aimed at understanding a specific topic through information gathering. The report then examines different web search tools, specifically Google Scholar and Google, detailing their functionalities and usefulness in finding scholarly articles and open web resources. Furthermore, it outlines a structured approach to organizing information gathered during research, including preliminary reading, thesis statement development, outlining, drafting, and revision. The report concludes by emphasizing the benefits of technology-based research methods and provides real-life examples of how these tools have aided in the research process, leading to the framing of research topics and preliminary analysis. The references include various sources such as scholarly articles, books, and research guides that support the content of the report.

2UTILIZATION OF TECHNOLOGY FOR ORGANIZING INFORMATION
1. Introduction
The primary purpose of the conduction of research is based on discussing or searching
about a certain fact. This would be highly needed for the proving of a certain theory or
contributing towards the development of knowledge in a particular field of study (Rea and Parker
2014). The use of information technology systems for the conduction of research has been useful
for making vast use of knowledge from various sources and thus expanding the scope of
research.
2. Discussion
The practice of internet research based on the use of Internet has been widely been used
in the recent years. The impact of the World Wide Web (WWW) has provided a major help for
gathering information from diverse sources. The term ‘research’ has been considered to be a
broad term. It includes any form of activity in which a particular topic would be identified and a
certain amount of effort would be made based on the gathering of information (Mai 2016). This
would be entirely meant for the purpose of understanding of the topic of research.
2.1 Different Web Searches
The different kinds of web searches used for research are:
Google Scholar – The website provides a varied and a large database based on searching
and identification of scholarly literatures and journal articles. There is a free availability of some
articles. Some of these articles are available online with the subscriptions provided by the library
of the University.

Google – This is considered as the most powerful search engine tool that has been
majorly been used for searching for articles on the open web platform (Haddaway et al. 2015).
There is wide availability of good and verified articles.
2.2 Organizing of Information
With the wide gathered information, the research could be conducted by processing
certain steps:
Performing of preliminary reading and choosing of the topic of research
Gathering information and development of thesis statement
Making an outline of research paper
Starting with the first draft of research (Sekaran and Bougie 2016)
Revising of the entire research paper
2.3 Real-life Examples
The gathering of information based on a proper conduction of research from various
sources have been helpful for me during drafting the topic of my research. I have made use of
Google Scholar to search for articles (Merriam and Grenier 2019). The search of articles had led
to research on articles from several journals. The previous works of other authors have thus
helped me to frame the topic of research and a brief analysis over the topic.
3. Conclusion
Based on the discussion from the above topic, it has been concluded that the conduction
of research based on the use of technologies has been extremely helpful in many number of
ways. The rise of different technology platforms have helped different individuals to perform a
detailed research on certain topics. There are different web search platforms such as Google and

many others that help in providing detailed information on any searched topic. These information
derived from various sources could be organized into useful source of knowledge.
