Introduction
Adapting to new technology is defined as the techniques and the processes which
reflects what are the new trends in the technology and how workforce is adapting to it. The
report will examine the positive and negative impacts of adapting new technology. Along
with this, how the new technology will impact Burberry and Pert A Manger will be analysed.
Also, issues will be elaborated which will arise while adopting new technology along with
that positive impacts while adopting the new technology will be identified through the
research process. Therefore, adapting to new technologies the company will be able to
demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses incurred through various technological
advancements.
Positive Effects of Adapting to New Technology
Adoption of new technology brings many positive impact over the company in terms
of raising its sales along with interacting with their customers through effective mode of
communication. As through the use of the latest technology in the form of e-mails, websites
and various other the mode of communication concerned with companies and the
customers has been raised (Ibrahim and Jebur, 2019). As new technology is directly
concerned with companies and customers so through this, business can raise their sales and
revenues in terms of attracting more customers. Adoption of new and latest technology also
helps the companies in terms of raising the efficiency of working and production. Through
latest technology the mode of operation of the companies also got effective along with
meeting strong level of market competition. This can also be clarified with an example of
Burberry. As adoption of new and latest technology by this company has boost up its
business in terms of attracting and interacting with more and more customers. Through the
implication of new technology in the form of digitalization and online selling its sales and
global appearance of the Burberry has raised. This has given a new perspective to its
business. Another example that can be taken as Pret a Manger which is one of the famous
restaurant of UK. Adoption of new and latest technology also helps its business in terms of
raising growth. Through implementation of the latest technology in the form of online
selling its sales percentage has raised which helps it to accomplish its objective in terms of
earning high profit.
Negative Impacts of Non-Implementation of New Technology
Apart from advantages associated with the adoption of the latest technology in the
working operation of the business, there are certain disadvantages as well as adverse
impacts too. Although the use of technology has opened many new ways for business but at
the same side the lack of security issue, lack of interpersonal interaction, high cost of up
gradation and various other become a big problem for companies who adopt new and latest
technology. Through the use of technology in the business the interpersonal interaction
with the customers has reduced. This has also impacted business in terms of loosing those
customers who want to buy products with personal interaction with the company. Likewise,
raising and high cost also become a disadvantage for the companies. This means that with a
continuous change in technology it becomes very difficult for the companies to afford such

high cost. Lack of security and cyber crime is also one of the biggest disadvantage of the
adoption of the latest technology. Since while interacting with customers various personal
and private information is being shared so if this information will be generalized then it not
only create issue for the customers but the company's brand image also being affected
(Upadhyaya, 2020). This is more clear with the example of Burberry and Pret a Manger
whereby their business may got affected if the technological adaption is not well
implemented. This means that if the orders that is being received over online mode will not
be received due to technical error or issue then these organisations will not only being
affected in the form of loosing their customer's but this will have a direct impact over the
brand image also.
Conclusion
It is concluded from the above research that adapting to new technology has helped
the Burberry and Per A Manger to effectively and efficiently analyse its negative and positive
impacts for growth and development of the companies on large scale. Along with this, the
issues which were raised in adapting new technology were described as cyber security is
hampered, interpersonal interaction is lost in the process of communicating through the
new technological advancements. This also leads to one more negative impact to the
companies that it has raised costs while implementing these technological changes which
have been occurred and adopted by organizations on large scale. These issues affect the
companies growth and development. This is on the negative aspect that the company is able
to measure its ill effects which they have faced through this research. It has been analysed
that both the positive and negative factors impact the company's overall performance and
efficiency. Therefore, through this research it has been evaluated that the companies face
both positive and negative impacts which have been occurred while adapting new
technology along with its changes and advancements in the process of improving the older
processes to newer ones effectively and efficiently.

Learning from the module
I have worked on a lot of academic skills and learn new academic learning in the
process of learning. I have learnt to reference and the research process which include
process of doing research on the given topic and how to represent it in the presentations.
Referencing is the system of knowledge which provide the information we get from which
the writing is being done and the research or learning is to get. I have learned that there are
different sources which need referencing. Books, journals, newspaper, conference paper,
electronic sources. I have learned that these are things which need to be reference while
working in the research methodology or working on the research project. I have learned the
note taking skills and the time management skills as well as they are important for me to
have skilled as it will help in university. I learned problem solving skills as well as it will allow
me to handle the situation.
Why new learning is important
It is important for me to make sure that I learnt new skills and techniques from my
better development in the process of personal development. I learned new skills so that I
can gain a lot of knowledge and get a help in the university as it will give me better
confidence and allow me to take part and initiates in the process of development. Note
taking skills is important as it allows me to take notes when I heard new things and allow me
to understand whenever I want. It helps in increasing the efficiency of hearing and taking it
in notes. It is important for me to know that I can do referencing so that it is easy for me
when I will do the research project in the university I can be able to make sure that I can do
proper citation from where I have taken the resources and guidance and also promote in
the personal and professional growth in future.
Benefits and future implications
I have learned all these by the platform of online as I took a lot of sessions which
have helped me in understanding the importance of learning the skills in the personal
development to work better at the university level. It will help me in increasing the grades
and allow me to perform better at university to gain a better future goals. I learn the process
of referencing from the module I learn and the online session I took to initiate the learning
of different skills I like to learn. It is crucial and I took online counselling in the process of
learning to increase the development of personal and professional growth in the academic
learning of me. I tried a lot of online and friends sessions to increase the skills which can
further help me in development of knowledge and skills to increase the process of working
in the learning of academic.
