INTRODUCTION
Reflective writing is written to describe the persons real or imaginary scene, passing
thought, interaction, memory showing the persons personal reflection on such things such as
their emotion, feeling etc. thus the purpose of the reflecting writing is that the writer notes the
details of the event or situation in a reflective meaning. In the study I am going to use Gibbs
reflection model for the reflective writing. In the study what I have experienced, and my
interpretation and evaluation has been explained with the help of the reflective model. Gibbs
model was created by Grahman Gibbs and sometimes the model is also known as experimental
learning model and iterative model. The model consists of 6 stages description, interpret,
evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan (Using Gibbs' Reflective Cycle, 2019). These
steps help an individual to think in a systematic way about the phases the individual has
experienced during carrying an activity (Hussein, 2018).
MAIN BODY
Description
Technology had major influence on lives of young generation as the individuals are getting
dependent and addictive to use of technological tools. It provides easy mode to search, plan or
direct activities. My reflective writing is about seminar which was held in the college relating to
the various problem arising due to the technologies which are creating the negative impact on
younger generation. During the seminar the guest lecturer asked us to carry a small survey by
forming a team which will aim at knowing the advantage and disadvantages of the technology
and what role does technology plays in an individual life. Then the group of 5 members were
made to conduct the survey. We have completed are survey successfully and has met the group
as well as individual target. During the survey we have faced various issues as the people are not
cooperative and there were many situations arises in a team where the member disagrees with
each other which created a stressful environment in a team. I was upset with the team members
but I have learned that how important is it to work in a team, and how to work with others. I have
gained much knowledge by being the part of the survey.

Feelings
I learned about the benefits of working in a team. The best part of working in a team was
support of team members which helped me in gaining understanding over my strength and
weakness (Fidalgo-Blanco and et.al., 2015). Working in a team is of great pleasure as all the
member support each other listen to each other view and it helps in solving the problem as there
are more the member more the number of solutions. Further, I have learned that working in a
team builds trust with in the teammates as everyone is rely on other. I had made a number of
mistakes while carrying the survey but I have learned many new things from my team members.
Apart from this, learning about technology and its negative influence on people was beneficial
for me because I realized that I am also getting dependent on technology because of which I
rarely. I feel that the seminar has proved quite useful for me. But I personally feel that
technology does not only cause negative impact it brings many positive results also.
Evaluation
I got the opportunity to work with my classmates in a team as I was new in the college this
is the best opportunity for me to know my batch-mates. At first, I was little nervous because I
have never done such an assignment before and also it was quite uncomfortable for me to work
with the persons whom I have met for the first time. The survey helped me in knowing the
importance of working in a team (Husebø and et.al., 2015). I evaluated that technology is all
about making life simpler and easy which is leading to negative influence of young generation as
the individuals are getting dependent. (Ghaferi, Dimick, 2016). At some circumstance I find it
that I should stop my team member from creating the stressful environment and understand each
other views so that we can meet our target earlier. Many times, some people of the group get
disappointed of me because I was more dedicated toward the work and I show my feelings
instantly most often the anger. I am short tempered which sometimes created a misunderstanding
between me and the other team members. By suffering through all this I find it difficult to carry
the task but as I member and according to my belief I find it wrong to leave the team as it will
hamper the overall performance of the team.
Through the survey I have found that technology creates a huge impact on the young
generation. It creates both positive as well as negative effect on employees.

Analysis
I have made the effort to convince the people by giving extra explanation and providing
them other related information such as how the technology is creating bad impact on their lives
and their children life. Why should the technology should be used in the limited manner and
according to the necessity I have explained such type of question in order to make people aware
and to make them realise what type of survey we are doing. My team members also cooperated
me they like the way I was addressing the people and encourages me in doing so and many of
them also applies the same strategy.
According to Miftachul Huda and et.al., 2017 technology has the potential to create
negative as well as positive effect on young generation. Positive result are increse in empathy
and diversity acceptance etc., but if consider the negative side the technology manifest risky
sexual behavior, aggressive behaviour and substance abuse.
Conclusion
A benefit of being a part of the survey is that it builds a more confidence in me. Now I might be
more comfortable in asking questions to the strangers. The most difficult task for me during the
survey is interacting with the people. The best part of during the whole survey is to work in a
team as during the survey many situations occurs where the people does not respond nicely or
use the improper tone but the team members supported me at that time. I find it good to belong to
a team. One of my weaknesses that is interacting with people has turned out in a positive way
now I can more openly talk with the strangers.
I have learned that technology impact not only people but it also affect society and
environment. It creates a huge negative impact on the youngsters cause adverse impact on their
health. The excessive use of technology can result in depression, cyber bullying and can cause
serioucs threat to teen health.
Action plan
The knowledge which I have gained regarding technology will help me in future also.
Technology influences the quality of life. It also helps in changing social political as well as
economic condition of society as well as individual.
By being a part of survey I came to know that I need to work on my anger and develop
the habit of listening to others. I need to develop my communication skills as it took me time in

convincing the people. And in order to find other areas of improvement I will use the
interpersonal skills self-assessment.
In order to work on my weaknesses, I have decided to adopt various exercises which will help
me in controlling my anger such as count down trick, taking a deep breathe, stop talking to
people. And in order to improve my communication skill I will first work on my communicating
the right message to the people non verbally means through body posture, eye contact, facial
expression etc.
CONCLUSION
The study helps me in understanding the use of Gibbs model. By applying the model I have
came to know about the importance and benefits of working in a team. Working in a team has
bring many changes in me now I am more confident and find it easy to interact with the people.
The study helps me in analysing what are my weaknesses and what steps I can take to improve
them. With the help of the study I came to know that what are the mistakes we have done; how
can we have done it differently. What things should be kept in mind in future if facing the same
situation. The study helps in again re looking on the experience we have gained. The Gibbs
model which has been used in the study helps in thinking in a systematic manner. The model
helps in working on the area of weakness rather than repeating the things in the way it has been
done earlier.
