INTRODUCTION
Pregnancy in early teenager is a global issue which is being faced nowadays in the
different countries of the world (Boyce and et.al., 2018). This is prevalent mostly in the
developing countries where the marriage age of girls is much lower as compared to the western
countries. Conceiving at such an early age can create physical and mental issues for most of the
girls. Due to absence of proper nourishment and care many teenage mothers die. Thus this
problem needs a proper solution by increasing the awareness among the people so that the health
and safety of both mother and child can be maintained. In this essay, there will be detailed
discussion on the various types of ways in which teaching on this topic will be provided to the
different types of students in the class.

Teenage pregnancy is a common issue which is faced nowadays in the adolescents in
developing countries (Bravo and et.al., 2016). Pregnancy at such an early age creates quite an
impact on the teenage mothers. The effect of getting pregnant at such a young age is explained as
follows-
Physical health issues- The teenage mothers do not have sufficient physical health which
is needed to handle the pregnancy at a young age. Thus in this way this creates an impact on their
physical health which is seen in the form of tiredness, mood disorders etc. The body of most of
the teenage girls is not suitable enough to conceive which puts an impact on their overall health.
Mental health issues- The teenage mothers who do not have the physical capacity to
conceive a child are not ready for it face different types of mental health issues. This is due to the
reason that early pregnancy can cause emotional issues for most of the teen mothers. Therefore
this can thus impact the mental health of these mothers.
There are different disadvantages which are associated with early pregnancy in teenagers.
Some of these disadvantages are explained as follows-
Loss of Education- Due to conceiving at a young age many teenage mothers have to lose
their access to Education. Thus this creates an impact on the young mothers as they lose their

countries girls are married off at a very young age and after marriage they conceive at a young
age and due to this reason they have to leave their education in between.
Medical Issues- Getting pregnant at a young age can lead towards creation of different
types of medical issues for young teenage mothers (Diaz and Fiel, 2016). Their body may not be
suitable enough for conceiving which can thus impact the health. Also health problems like
Anaemia is common in the teenage mothers. This is so because they have low availability of

good care of young pregnant mothers. Thus medical complications are created which impacts the
health of teenage mothers.

young age the income level of their families is not sufficient enough to provide the proper
nourishment which is needed by them at their pregnancy stage (Hernandez, Rabia and Hazza,
2017). This creates an impact on them because because they face health complications at an early
age thereby affecting them both emotionally and mentally.
Lack of preparedness- Teenage pregnancies lead towards lack of preparedness on the part
of the young teenage mothers (Leftwich and Alves, 2017). The reason for this is that most of
these girls are not prepared to handle pregnancy at such a young age. Thus due to this reason an
impact on the mental health of these young mothers is created. This affects them a lot.
Lack of proper care- Teenage pregnancies most often lead towards lack of proper care.
This is so because the families of these young mothers are not able to provide the required
support which is needed by the young mothers. This therefore affects them and thus creates an
impact on the young teenage mothers getting pregnant at a young age. Also due to this lack of
care they often have to face health complications which can affect not just their own health but
also the health of the child.
Inadequate weight gain- A proper weight gain is quite essential for healthy pregnancy
and ensuring that both mother and child are safe at the time of delivery of the child. However in
the case of young teenage mothers there is inadequate weight gain which impacts their mental
and emotional health badly.
