Current study is based on telecommunication company that operates in UK and employed
5000 employees. The duties of telecom engineers are to ensure connection of telephone lines and
internet cables. Present report will discuss hazardous may arise from activities of telecom
engineers. Furthermore, it will provide potential controlling measures to reduce such risks. In
addition, risk assessment will be produced in order to ensure that company complies with law.

There are many risks that may arise from activities of telecom engineers. These are
explained as below:
Operational risk
This is considered as on of the main hazardous activity that may arise from activity of
telecom engineers. This includes failure to improve organizational agility, failure to understand
role. In such condition engineer can get ailed to perform their duties well (Osabutey and Okoro,
2015). By this way issues such as short circuit, line disturbance can be created. Operational risks
can cause harm to engineers of telecommunication firm and can affect operational efficiency of
the business to great extent.
Financial risk
Apart from operational risk, financial risk may also arise due to the activities of telecom
engineers. If engineers are unable to understand the problem in line connection then they may
use unwanted equipments due to which telephone lines may get destroyed. This can increase cost
of company and customer as well (Olson and Wu, 2015). Inability to extract values from
network assets is another issue that increase chances of financial risk.

impact of risk arise from activities of employees. Potential controlling measures are as following:
Use engineering controls: It is one of the best controlling measures in which management
of company can redesign operational process in order to make it more efficient. Use of
advance technologies, proximity guarding can help in minimizing operational risk. In this
respect Telecommunication firm can use standard equipments and can follow standard
procedures to minimize accidents at the working areas of engineers (Fan and et.al, 2016).
Implementation of administrative control measures: It is another solution to minimize or
control over risk that are arisen from activities of engineers. In this respect, company is
required to provide training to staff members and needs to create safe work practices for
them. This can support in reduce potential harm. By this way strategic risk can be
controlled to great extent.
Use of personal protective equipments: these equipments include gloves, glasses,
earmuffs, safety footwear, dust mask etc. while repairing telephonic line or any data line.
