INTRODUCTION
The telecommunications industry is a growing industry which has enormous potential to succeed in
the coming years. The research covers the topic of Telco which is a subsidiary of the Tata Group and
works in the networking solutions and challenges in the field. Telco Systems was formed in the year
1972 and has been growing rapidly to create sustainable systems and high-performance telecom
network to the users. The research covers various aspects of policies, procedures and the aspects of
project management which are crucial in context to Telco Systems and solutions. The safety
management procedures to be followed at the workplace and the importance of the
implementation o Work Health and Safety (WHS) standards are also discussed. The steps are taken
to control and minimize the hazards by taking input from the relevant legislation and regulations in
this regard form the crux of the research (Huemann, 2010).

Q. 1- IDENTIFY THE VARIOUS POLICIES AND PROCEDURES IN
ORGANIZATIONAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT.
A. 1- Organizational Project Management (OPM) is a process that aligns the framework required to
manage the portfolio practices in sync with the organization's strategy and guidelines. The
importance of OPM can be felt in the manner that it helps in the integration of the organization with
its various stakeholders and the persons associated with the firm and its project management
activities'. The OPM maintains the delivery of the project in a timely manner and also gives value to
the organization. The OPM is also responsible for providing continuous development opportunities
and maintains the consistency of the results. OPM can be helpful to all those organizations where
the company is striving to meet its strategic objectives and keeping its standard put (PMI, 2018).
The policies and procedures of OPM are as follows-
 The areas for change have to be identified that are in need of bringing the change. The way
the changes are going to reflect on the project and the processes in practice is also to be
identified.
 The plans for the change are to envision and to see what are the scope, possibility and
success rate of the change in the project. The teams working on the project and the teams
should also not feel intimidated by the onset of the change.
 After studying the nature of the change, it has to be implemented in an orderly state. The
planning process and systems have to be designed to implement the OPM in the project
(Daga, 2014).

Q. 2- HOW SHOULD YOU CRITICALLY ANALYSE THE POLICIES AND
PROCEDURES RELATED TO PROJECT MANAGEMENT?
Project management can be understood as a method to initiate, plan, execute, control and close the
work undertaken as a project done under a specified time and fulfilling the set criteria. Project
management involves achieving the project goals within the constraints of the resources and time.
Project management uses all the skills, tools, techniques and competencies that can be helpful in
realizing the project goals and objectives (Meredith and Mantel Jr, 2011).
The project planning process is categorized into five stages, namely-
1. Initiating- This step involves initiating the project by understanding the requirement of the
project and what outcomes can be expected. How it can benefit the company is also
considered. The initiating process is vital as it plans the cost, time and resources that are
going to be involved in the completion of the project.
2. Planning- This step includes the planning process for the project. The project is taken with a
practical approach and the plans for the details of the project like required resources,
operations to carry on and their suitability with the company are considered.
3. Executing- the plans made are executed in this step. The plans are taken into action and the
tasks are executed which yield results.
4. Monitoring and Controlling- this step controls and monitors the project to keep it steadfast
on the goal
5. Closing- When the project is complete and it has obtained the required results then the
project is closed (PMI, 2019).

Q. 3- BRIEFLY EXPLAIN THE SAFETY MANAGEMENT PROCESSES AND
PROCEDURES FOR THE FOLLOWING IN A WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT:
a. Conformance of PPE to industry and WHS standards- For the implementation of PPE and
WHS policies at the workplace, it is important to understand the rules and regulations that
govern PPE and WHS. PPE is Personal Protective Equipment which is mandatory for the
employees working in fields which give direct exposure to hazard. Work Health and safety is
also a crucial element for companies conducting work in dangerous fields that may affect the
health and safety of the employees and workers (Krajewski et al., 2013).
b. The minimization, control or elimination of hazards that may exist during work activities-
The companies that have operations involving any kinds of hazards should have the proper
conditions, resources and protective equipment to deal with them. The hazards can be
minimized by limiting the time of exposure, isolating it from collective setting and staying
protected by using appropriate gears.

RELEVANT LEGISLATION, CODES, REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS ON THE
MANAGEMENT OF A COMMUNICATIONS PROJECT BEFORE COMMENCING
ANY MANAGEMENT
The application of laws and legislation is important in project management and for communications
management as well. The laws pertain that everyone on board would have true information about
the company's state and full information of the future endeavours so that they can plan and prepare
to work with the team in leading towards change (Mir and Pinnington, 2014).

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT TO IMPLEMENTATION:
a. Commissioning procedures- It is that phase in which the planning and operation of activities
is discussed which can include satisfactory adjustments in the project or plant
b. Industrial issues- The industrial issues can have an impact on project development as the
industrial issues affect similar industries in an equal way
c. Roles and responsibilities- the roles and responsibilities of the persons handling the project
management have to lead the project into completion and carry on with the developmental
work
d. Skills audit- the skills audit of the persons working in the project shows their skills,
capabilities and competencies in carrying out the tasks (Psychogios et al., 2012)

AN EVALUATION ON THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS, INCLUDING

The impact of the telecommunication system on the project includes various systems and guidelines.
The persons involved in the project should communicate effectively and should be aware of the
activities going on in different departments. The networking among the individuals and systems is
critical for project management. The telecom is vital as it connects everyone together in the project.

Q. 7- WHAT IS THE ROLE THAT SITE ENGINEERING HAS ON THE
DEVELOPMENT OF A PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN?
A. 7- The site engineer follows the role of advising and monitoring of the planning, coordination and
the supervision of the site where he is assigned the work. The site engineering advice can come
handy in the planning and development of the plan. The site engineer is deployed to solve the
technical issues at the site, guiding the junior engineers about how to carry out the process and also
to manage and prepare the reports detailing the data and everyday activities of the project. The site
engineer can be referred to as the civil engineer or the mechanical engineer who design, build and
maintain the mechanical components of the project (Smith, 2017).

TASK 1- STATE THE MAIN OBJECTIVES AND SUCCESS CRITERIA FOR THE
PROJECT IN THE SCENARIO.
The main objectives that govern the success criteria for the project described in the scenario of Telco
are to develop excellent Project Managers or PMs as they are responsible for managing and
controlling the work execution of the project. The company Telco has a firm belief that the Project
Managers are the ones who can take the company forward by brainstorming the ideas. The goals of
Telco are to provide value to the customer and not only a well-defined product. Telco believes that
managing the consumers and giving them an excellent product is a key to success and the driving
force for Telco (Velasquez and Hester, 2013).

TASK 2- DEVELOP PROJECT PROPOSAL, INCLUDING SPECIFIC PROJECT
MANAGEMENT PROCESSES FROM SPECIFICATIONS AND /OR CONTRACTS?
Aim of the Project- The project’s aim is to understand the project management process at
stakeholder and utilising the Project Manager’s competence in leading the project to success.
Rationale- the project entails the topic considering the project planning in context to Telco. The
project management model is studied which gives a sequential direction to the carrying out of the
project. The role of the customer is also widely discussed which opens channels for the way in
reaching consumer satisfaction through the delivery of quality products and services.
Project management Processes- The project management processes include the steps that are taken
for completing the project on time. The project management process for Telco is carried out which
covers the various steps of the planning group, integration, quality, procurement, communications
and lastly the control of the process group (Bigliardi et al., 2012).
