Telehealth Project:
The Telehealth project is the remote healthcare services which were introduced to
deliver high quality healthcare services in the rural areas (Dorsey & Topol, 2016). In rural
areas, the main problem is the communication problem among healthcare professionals. This
communication problem will be solved by the Telehealth services as this uses the information
system for the communications. The information system is a type of organized system which
is used for organization, communication and collection of information. Thus this information
system plays a big role in the project of the Telehealth.
Problems in the Project:
The project of the Telehealth is facing various types of problems. One of the main
problems of implementing the Telehealth is the broadband issue (Lee et al., 2015). In the
project of Telehealth communication among healthcare professionals is an essential thing.
For successful Telehealth project, the country needs to install adequate and affordable
broadband service to effective exchange the health-related information. In this case, the
project faces big problems as particularly in the rural areas this type of service may not be
available. Without a proper broadband connection, it becomes very much problematic to
effectively communicate.
Another problem for the Telehealth project is that physician engagement problem.
Though many physicians uses consumer electronics in their daily life, they might refuse to
implement new technologies in their professional practice area. There might be various type
of reasons behind the refusal of the physicians or the doctors.
Also, another potential problem is the mismanagement of the patient. In such type of
cases, it is possible that due to some technical errors the local physician missed some part of a
complete instruction (Hydari, Telang & Marella, 2015). Missing of instruction can cause

various type of problems which includes the mismanagement of the patient. Thus the health
condition of the patients can degrade.
Project Capabilities:
This project is capable of delivering various crucial information related to the patient.
In the technological aspect, the aim of the project is to deliver proprietary devices in the
system of the telehealth (Parmanto et al., 2013). The project of the Telehealth should be
capable of three roles. These roles are the, providing various health-related information to the
patient, receiving the data in manual mode or in automatic mode and sending questionnaires,
results and responses to another end of the Telehealth system.
With the above contribution in the technological field, this project is also capable of
increasing the efforts of the health-related promotions. The promotion of the health has
become popular widely in the underdeveloped countries in where very much fewer resources
are available. In the case of the developed countries, the health promotions by using the
Telehealth services is also successful. By promoting the health, the Telehealth project is
capable of creating health-related awareness among the peoples of the rural areas. Also, the
project is capable of benefit the total health systems theoretically. The main contribution of
the Telehealth in the healthcare system is that it will reduce the cost of the health-related
service by using the monitoring system. The main reason behind reducing the cost is the
elimination of the travelling cost.
Project Benefit:
The Telehealth project has various types of benefit in the healthcare sector of the rural
areas. The benefit provided by the Telehealth project is mainly divided into two parts. First is
the patient benefit and the second one is the providers benefit. While considering the benefit
of the patients, the first benefit is the reduction in the treatment cost. The cost reduced

because the travel cost of the rural area patients eliminated. Also, the cost of affording a big
city for the treatment purpose is reduced. In the emergency situations the Telehealth services
can be very much effective (Jang-Jaccard et al., 2014). The patient can get instant help from
the highly qualified doctors without wasting too much of time.
In the case of the providers benefit, the skills of the local physicians of the rural areas
will highly increase. The skill sets of the local physicians will increase due to the treating the
patients and under the advisory of the highly qualified doctors (Bagayoko et al., 2014). Also,
the providers of the Telehealth service will be able to serve more peoples in a short period of
time. Also, this service will contribute to the rural area development of the country.
There are some other benefits provided by the Telehealth project which are the more
specialty healthcare system in the local areas, increased availability of the healthcare system,
reduced pressure of the emergency transport cases and increased control of the of the
healthcare ministry department in the rural areas of the country.
