 Telestra is a company that is lisenced to provide wireless

 Exetel is assisting Telestra in selection and implementation of new field
service system.
 The goal of this new field service system is to provide the technicians
with the wireless access to the vast electronic library of the
organization
 This will eliminate the need of carrying all the diagrams, manuals, large
books and drawings to the field

 Cellular handsets are the
telecommunication devices that
provides an wireless access to the
data stored in its memory (Patel,
Chauhan & Kapadiya, 2012)
 Cellular handsets can be easily
carried to any place as it is quite
handy
 All modern cellar handsets make use
of 3G/4G/5G technology for providing
a wireless access (Osseiran et al.,
2014) .

Advantages
 Cellular handsets are preloaded with
all the essential functions such as
Microsoft, word excel , access and
therefore it world be easier for the
technicians to upload data from the
field
 Since it is very small in size, it would
not be difficult for the technicians to
carry.

Notebooks with wireless cards
 Wireless cards helps in connecting
with a digital device wirelessly.
 Notebooks equipped with wireless
cards are capable of displaying the
data stored in the wireless cards.
 However, it is one of the most
significant constraints as well since
the wireless cards are needed to be
connected with a digital device for
displaying the information stored in
it.

Advantages
 It is very easy to set up a wireless
card as no such technical knowledge
is required for the same
 Data transfer speed is faster than
cellular handsets
 There are lesser security issues
associated with the use of wireless
cards

 Cellular handsets are easier to carry
and use due to its size.
 Update of the reports directly from
field will be provided by both cellular
data and notebooks, however,
notebooks will be difficult to carry on
the top of a tower or inside a tunnel.
 Therefore, it is recommended for
Telestra to use cellular handsets
equipped with 3G/4G/5G technology
(Kumar, Kim & Helmy, 2013).

Conclusion
 After analyzing both cellular handsets and wireless cards, it is
recommended for Telestra to make use of cellular handsets for
providing the technicians with an wireless access to the internal
network of the company.
 This is because, it is not only easier to carry for also a cost effective
alternative in comparison to notebooks equipped with wireless cards.
 However, the use of wireless cards could have been more secure and
faster.
