Learning from case study
I was able to learn with the help of the case study that Telstra which is a provider of
the mobile phones along with broadband internet focuses on strategies that help in protecting
the community. The knowledge was gathered through the case study that getting involved
with the local communities can help an organization in surviving within the competitive
environment. The fostering of the inclusive communities can help in empowering the
company that can help it in surviving within the digital world. Telstra makes use of
technologies that can help it in addressing the environmental challenges (Telstra.com.au.,
2019). Telstra made an annual income of $ 25.7 billion in the year 2016 and the taxable
income of Telstra was $ 6 billion. The company paid $ 1.7 in terms of taxes and it was the
biggest tax bill in reference to any ICT company. Telstra has provided a boost to the R & D
in Australia as it supports the projects of various universities along with the research
institutions that can prove to be relevant for the business of Australia. Telstra considers the
environmentally focussed projects that proves to be beneficial for the community in
Australia. I learnt that business plays a crucial role that can help in addressing the issue of
climate change in the present age. I was able to acquire the knowledge that the company is
committed to environment and they take necessary precautions so that the impact of the
company on the community along with the environment is minimised across that of the value
chain. The community programs undertaken by the company helps in serving the community
of Australia. I learnt that the company works in partnership with various community agencies
like The Salvation Army, Anglicare Australia, The Smith Family and St Vincent de Paul. The
company has the Access for everyone program helps in providing services to the people who
are in some kind of financial difficulty (Chioatto, 2017).

affected by storms, tropical cyclones along with floods. I got the information that the
company makes payphones free so that they can be used within the disaster affected areas

along with access to the broadband within the evacuation centres.
