Telstra is considered as one of the leading communications and technology
corporation. The company has measured the 17 SGDs and 169 objectives alongside its value
chain. The company also considers the influence, degree of effect, implication of strategy and
vision along with its ability of driving an impact (Telstra Exchange, 2019). The obligation
towards sustainability forms the part based on which the corporation stands for.
Sustainability development goal of Telstra:
The sustainability goals of Telstra are introduced into the communal and ecological
conservation in the core of the company’s business group to produce value for its
stakeholders and corporation (Beashel, 2019). Telstra commonly stresses on the below two
areas:
Involving its people: Telstra has faith in its employees, as the company believes that its
workforces can form a big change by engaging with the public and understanding their issues
that matters. It is not only considered as the right thing to do but also it is viewed as the
portion of company’s responsibility.
Environmental leadership: Telstra is very much strongminded to reduce its environmental
impact and also assists its customers in reducing their as well. Telstra has faith in the
communication technology and the corporation have faith that it can develop a healthier way
of creating a new ecological solution which are really motivated.
Contributing towards sustainable development goals:
Telstra have faith in creating a vivid correlated future for everybody and the
company’s sustainable goal is to help the persons in flourishing in the digital world. It
comprises of the creativities and objectives to discourse the effect as well as opportunities in

attaining the gender fairness and have applied a wide range of plans, programs and meeting

is a participant of its “UN Women’s Empowerment Principles”. The company is committed
towards creating a workplace where all its people can flourish. The approach of Telstra is to
emphasize on living its values, sustainable participation and forming competence. The
company is dedicated to create a varied and comprehensive labour force which imitates its
customers and nations in which it operates.
The sustainability strategy of Telstra mainly involves developing expertise in using
technology based solutions to help in addressing the main social challenges and
opportunities. The company has formed the strategy of encouraging a strong, comprehensive
societies which is authorized to flourish the digital world (Teh & Corbitt, 2015). Telstra aims
to make use of technology in addressing its ecological tests and helping its suppliers,
customers and communities to do the same.
Sustainable Governance:
The board of Telstra is considered accountable for supervising and monitoring the
efficiency of its sustainable policies and strategy. The sustainable office of Telstra is
accountable for embedding the sustainability values across the company in administering the
risks and opportunities associated to its present and rising sustainability issues and working
with the business for delivering a social and environmental programs for its clients and
societies (Worthington, 2017). Telstra has made its commitment to achieve excellence in
corporate governance, transparency and responsibility. Telstra governance framework
comprises of playing a vital role in helping the business to structure and form business
objectives to manage the risk faced by the business.
