EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
TENCEL is a new fibre which is very smooth, soft and light in weight. People purchase this fibre
because it is easy to wash as well as it is perfect for wearing specially in summer and spring. It
ois made from wood pulp and by using the machinery, pulp is changed into smooth fibre which
is named as TENCEL. It developed from a small silk weaving business in England in 1816. TENCEL
is courtaulds brand name for a fibre known as lyocell. Courtaulds also makes polymer products
such as tooth paste tubes, medical applicators etcetera. It is biodegradable and has no bad
effect on environment or does not pollute the environment. TENCEL is available at reasonable
cost to the customers and its demand in the market is very high.
Moreover, TENCEL touch feels like extraordinarily softer and smoother and by this reason this is
used in many fashion industries. TENCEL will also come in future with affordable prices which is
easily purchased by every customer. TENCEL will be introduced in new market like hospital
gowns for patients and child clothing because of its softness.
INTRODUCTION
TENCEL is the first man-made fibre that played an important role in the textile and non-woven industry
and it is highly used by manufacturers. Products of this fibre are not just developed to fulfill a single
need. After cotton TENCEL is the first fibre that has been used to create Denim. It provides tangible
advantages for both spinners and weavers by the way of garment manufacturers, designers and
customers. TENCEL is also used to make fabrics which are new for fashion industry and used by fashion
designers for making new dresses of this fibre. TENCEL garments have long durability even after washing
and wearing it many times. It is capable of satisfying all field requirements. Overall, it is a unique fibre
that can be used in various field to fulfill the needs of manufacturer, supplier and customer.

TENCEL is very innovative product created by courtaulds,is the consequences of search for high
performance cellulosic fibre that is produced in environmental favourable process. TENCEL is an
innovative product not only because because it is produced by man-made fibre but also
because of its uses. It is used to form different types of clothing, conveyor belts, mats etcetera.
It is a mixture of technology and perception.
ADVANTAGES OF TENCEL
Its touch and feel is so soft on the skin and do not cause any infection and irritation on
the skin and it is comfortable to wear.
TENCEL is light weight fibre and it is perfect to wearing in winter as well as in summers.
Moreover, it is washable and long running clothes. It can be washed in machine and no
need to wash manually.
This fibre is environmental friendly and it is breathable and has a high moisture
absorption threshold.
Lyocell is made from very small fibres, which in turn makes it very soft.
It is a crease resistant.
DRAWBACK OF TENCEL
TENCEL is expensive than cotton but cheaper than silk.
TENCEL will shrink after its first wash but retain its shape after that.

USES OF TENCEL
It is used to make face sheets, as TENCEL skin is smooth and its fibre structure can increase
absorption of nutrition and moisture. It is soft and easy to wear so it can be used for infants at
very early stage, as it can be used to make their beds and soft toys for babies. TENCEL will be
used in hospitals as it can be a great market for this product and it can be used as a best fibre
for hospital gowns. It can be used for patients, as it is soft and not allergic to the skin.
TEAM MANAGEMENT
To manage a team who is working on finding new uses of TENCEL. I will divide my team into
four departments such as research and development department, planning department,
production department, marketing department. Research and development department play a
vital role in finding the market for TENCEL in textile and fashion industry or in many other fields.
Planning department is appointed to plan and design the clothes according to the trend and
according to the research of research department. Production department will produce the
products according to the guidelines provided by planning department. The last department is
marketing department, this department members are assigned to sale the final product to the
customers.

CONCLUSION
On the basis TENCEL case study, it can be said that this is one of the unique fibre and it can be
used in many fields by the use of machinery, technology and innovation. TENCEL is expensive as
compared to cotton but people like to purchase this fibre because it is very soft and smooth
and can not harm the skin of human being. Clothes of this fibre is easy wear and washed by
machinery and no need to wash manually.
