Presentation
AI Summary
This presentation delves into the intricacies of the tennis serve, exploring the principles of skill acquisition and motor learning to enhance performance. It begins by outlining the importance of these concepts in mastering the serve, defining the serve as a complex skill involving closed, discrete, gross, and fine motor skills, and breaking it down into four subroutines. The presentation then analyzes the current stage of learning, supported by video evidence, and identifies task constraints and rate limiters in the serve technique, including technical flaws. It incorporates physical performance evaluation and movement strategies, with supporting evidence from video analysis of serve, forehand, backhand, and other tennis strokes. The analysis includes factors like ball toss, weight transfer, and timing, with emphasis on practice methods, feedback, and their impact on skill improvement, drawing examples from Roger Federer's serving technique. The presentation concludes with an evaluation of the effectiveness of different practice types and the progress made, with a focus on how the strategies and feedback have helped in refining serving skills, supported by data from serve accuracy tests.

The presentation would discuss about Tennis serve along with brief explanation and
visual explanation. Skill acquisition is required for tennis serve (Mackenzie, 2020). Skill
acquisition would help better serving that the opponent might fell difficult to serve back. Motor
skill is necessary to maintain a wide motor catalogue. It creates an adjustment with the motor
plans which would help a player to find a technique to serve well in the field
Tennis serve is a shot when a player hits the ball with a racquet in a way that it falls into
the diagonally opposite service box without hitting the net. The subroutines are practiced
entirety. It is performed over 3 weeks with each training done per week. The serving order for
tennis order includes- the stance, the Grip, the hitting such as loose drop, Swing and Pronation,
backswing as well as toss, serve in two part, the power move and follow through. The four
subroutines include; gross motor skill where large muscle groups are used in order to develop
that skill; closed motor skill defines the ability to gain almost full control over your movement;
discrete and serial- serve that includes a start and finishes making it a distinct skill. It is vital to
device the correct actions at correct time with the appropriate system permitting to make an
effective performance (Office of Sport, 2020) and continuous skill, which is defined as a skill
which last for many minutes and is carried out in a way that there is no identifiable start or end.
The stage that I am learning now is setting up for attack. The attack shots take the game
to the challenger and put then under pressure. Few factors that delayed my progress are timing,
techniques and weather. Ultimate enhancement and efficacy, can be adapted by concentrating on
skill per session. I am competently and reliably able to set up my shots accomplishing the
outcomes. I move round the court competently as well as meritoriously with speed to implement
winning forehands. I also have a correct body movement required for execution of the effective
topspin forehand passing line shot down. I would like take the example of Roger Federer who

rules the field while attacking. Aggressive but intellectual and in control while attack. Hit more
unforced errors than the opponent Aggressive style is an armament forcing the game action.
The analysis and synthesis of Tennis service have few common factors. Such as common
errors for serve that let down to recognise a bad toss, racquet head speed and swing path and
unpredictable ball toss. Technical error occurs in Discrete sub-routines. As it includes correct
measurement and plan in serving. However, I am skilful in addition to constantly developing of a
shot that leads to outcome execution. The primary is obtained from the video uploaded in the
presentation about Roger Federer. Few other things that plays role are ball toss, which includes
kick serve, place the toss inside the court roughly 6-12 inches out in front of me. The weight
transfers where there is stepping into your shots by transferring your body motion towards hitting
the ball in addition supplying power to it (Roeter and Kovacs 2019). Incorrect timing in tennis
causing the moment the ball and the racquet hit each other without any miss as well as proper
balance is required to serves the opponent with a proper hit.
The movement Strategy, types of practice as well as feedback are important as it helps to
improve the skills and more practice means more perfections. It adds more improvement in the
skills of tennis. Feedback, improves the effectiveness of my serve to improve the rate limiter. It
also helps to explore the points of the skill by working and getting feedback for improvement.
The best method of learning is whole or partial learning. It had helped me in improving my skill
slowly. It helps me to keep a track of my previous performance and then helps in the future
performances.
The two tennis drill that have helped me are ball toss groundstroke and serve toss
accuracy. The way I followed the drill are by observing the videos of tennis players, watched
numerous tennis games and practiced a lot.I have observed Roger Federer Serving skill.

Momentum used by him creates collision between the ball and the racquet. The racquet and the
ball collide with a particular speed and serves the opponent with double force.
To evaluate and justify the effectiveness of types of practice few things need to be taken
under consideration such as the whole and part learning method have helped in faster
improvement of my skill. Now, I am capable of serving better and I can cover the whole ground
without getting tired often. The feedback made me strong and helped me to clarify my mistake in
the next practice match. I took the feedback positively and managed to be better in the next
game. The modified way of practice helped to understand that I need more force and energy in
serving the ball so that it maintains greater momentum and hit the racquet of the opponent.
Quality of service improved. In week one, the serve accuracy test was 6 out of 10, and by week 3
my score was 8 out of 10. So it is clear that my serving skill improved. A proper learning skill
and strategy helped tennis player in developing and improving their skills. The proper learning
strategy is required so that mistakes can be improved and proper development can be done in the
tennis practice field.
It can be concluded from the presentation that motor learning is the significant to
accomplishment when educating a new skill, like tennis serve. It allows in exploring the phases
of the skill by practicing and getting feedback to improve. Practices, and feedback, have
subsidized to refine the usefulness towards my serving to overwhelmed my rate limiter.
