PART A-
1. The most important objective, in my personal concern is to focus on minimizing the damage
caused by the terrorist attacks. The aim to reduce the vulnerability of attacks can be a little
longer process for the country because of the increase in terrorist groups from outside and
inside the country. But, pulling out strategies for rising back from the following attacks would
sound meaningful and progressive for the world.
2. Reducing the vulnerability to the terrorist attacks seems to be the most difficult objective for a
country to achieve. This is because of the rise in diverse terrorist groups. Terrorism is not just
present beyond the boundaries of United States but also within it. Hence, this objective would
make the country either too diplomatic because of its own selfless objectives or ruin the
humanity by backing the negative groups of terrorism.
3. Department of homeland security is created for saving the united states from the various
attacks that occur. It is responsible for all the mentioned objectives but, the most important
objective under the following department is prevention of terrorist attacks in the United States.
The organisation can think of strategies of how they can locate the terrorist groups and also find
out the various plans that are planned against the United States in terms of terrorism and
attacks (Thompson, McGill, & Wang, 2017).
PART B-
1. Electronic scanner has improved the security system as it helps to recognize the metal from the
luggage of people who are planning to fly in the airplanes. With the development of science and
technology, electronic scanners have reached to heights where smallest of metals can be
detected inside the baggage of the customers. If not the smallest of items, then a metal detector
can help the security system to identify the harmful materials like, the guns, knives etc. this
makes the job of a security personnel easier. It also aids in the dealing with huge quantity of
passengers.
2. Singularly, scanners cannot help in prevention of hijacking. The airport security system needs to
have a process of well defined steps to prevent the problems of hijacking. This requires the
presence of sniffer dogs, security check of the passengers and the baggage and deployment of
paramilitary and military forces. The scanners are an innovation of science and technology and
cannot guarantee 100% results in case of detection. There have been cases where the metal was
not detected because it was kept on the inside pockets.

3. Yes, the investment in the airport security measures is worth it because of the need in the
security system of the passengers and preventing the hijacking activities. Investments would
create an impact in getting the updated versions of science and technology in the airports to
work more efficiently. These investments would not go waste as the first and foremost duty of
an airport is secure the place for the passengers (Matta & Cantelli-Forti, 2019).
