conducted with the relevant target population in order to collect data. The data will be further
observed and analysed in order to provide clear conclusion and recommendations to the case
organisation.

Scope
In order to conduct this project, it is highly important to target the relevant population those
have accurate knowledge about the research questions. This would ensure high scope of the
study, as in this manner, it will be possible to obtain error free research outcome.
Time
Time management is the key aspect that influences the success of the project. This project
will be completed within 1 month.
Quality
Quality of the project will be assured with the help of reliability and validity tools, which will
ensure that the questionnaire has been developed considering the research aim and objectives.
Moreover, the respondents will be encouraged to respond to the questions, so that the
response rate can be maximised. Flow chart and control chart will be applied in order to
ensure quality of the project.
Communication
The study will be communicated with the help of a professional report structure. This will
help to clearly represent the data collection and analysis including cohesive conclusion and
recommendations. Following the communication matrix:
Audience Information Communication media
Management of Tesco Approval for research Formal letter
Respondents of the survey Gathering information Online questionnaire
Respondents of interview Gathering information Face-to-face communication
Risk
In primary research, the risk of getting random data from the respondents is high, which has
diverse impact on the overall outcome of the study. This risk will be managed by increasing
the response rate. This would help to reduce the risk of receiving random data.
Resources
Following are the resources required for this study:
ï‚· Secondary data

ï‚· Cost and time
ï‚· Survey and interview questionnaires
Apart from the above-mentioned resources, human participation and relevant materials will
be required for this study. The human participation is needed for the quantitative and
qualitative data collection.

P4 Carry out small-scale research by applying qualitative and quantitative research
methods appropriate for meeting project aims and objectives.
Introduction
In this section, data has been collected with the help of appropriate methodologies. The
selection of methodology has been done in this section. In order to collect the primary data,
survey and interview has been conducted with the employees of Tesco supermarket Australia
in order to understand the issues they are facing regarding job and wages, income inequality
and culture. On the other hand, the positive impact of Tesco will be investigated with the help
of interview with the managers of Tesco, Australia.
Document Page
Brief explanation of two methods
There are two techniques that can be implemented in order to collect qualitative data such as
interviewing and interactive method. In case of interviewing method, a set of questions are
prepared and distributed among the targeted population (Kumar, 2019). The other method is
interactive method in which data can be collected by communicating the selected population.
In this research interview method has been selected for qualitative data collection. In order to
conduct the interview, 2 managers of Tesco, Australia has been selected and provided with 3
questions concerning the benefits that the country is enjoying due to globalisation. In other
words, the opportunities that Tesco, UK is creating in Australian market will be investigated
through this process.
There are two techniques of quantitative data collection method such as questionnaire survey
and structure observation (Silverman, 2016). In case of questionnaire survey, a set of question
is developed and provided to the respondents. The questions are close-ended and provided
with relevant options; the respondents are encouraged to provide their view by answering the
questions. In order to conduct the survey, 20 employees have been selected and provided with
6 survey questions.
Advantages and disadvantages
These two selected methodologies have certain advantages and disadvantages; for example,
surveying a targeted population increases the risk of getting random data. On the other hand,
data gathered from the interview can be bias that affects the research outcome. When it
comes to the advantages, interviewing the respondents would help the researcher to gather
quality information. On the other hand, survey would help the researcher to gather
information within a short time period (Potter et al., 2017).
In this section, two techniques of survey and interview are discussed and one technique from
each method has been selected. The selected techniques are survey and interview with the
selected respondents. 20 employees of Tesco, Australia are selected in order to gather
information regarding the challenges faced due to globalisation and on the other hand, 2
managers are interviewed in order to identify know the opportunities that Tesco, UK is
creating in Australian market.

LO3 Present the project and communicate appropriate recommendations based on
meaningful conclusions drawn from the evidence findings and/or analysis.
P5 Analyse research and data using appropriate tools and techniques. (1400)
Introduction
In this section several data analysis techniques will be discussed and implemented in order to
analyse the data. Moreover, the data gathered will be presented in this section using chart,
graphs and tables. Moreover, the response gathered through the qualitative data collection
method will be done in this section.
Discussing two methods of qualitative data analysis
In order to analyse the qualitative data, there are two techniques such as content analysis and
thematic analysis. In this study, thematic analysis technique has been selected through which
the response of the managers will be analysed (Brannen, 2017). On the other hand, content
analysis refers to the process in this data are gathered from the secondary sources and further
analysed with the help of observation tool. In this research, responses from the managers has
been analysed with the help of thematic analysis technique in which the researcher will
observe the statement of the managers. Following are the qualitative data collection and
analysis.
Q1: According to you, what are opportunities that Tesco is creating in Australian market?
Manager 1: As per the statement of manager 1, it can be safely said that the entry of Tesco in
the Australian market will prove to be boon for the country. According to him the multi-
national company will help country in various aspects such as employment, growth in GDP,
work culture etc. Whenever any multi-national company expands in some other country it
looks for work-force based out of host country as it is much cheaper than taking employees
from their own countries. This means job generation in the host country. The company also
bring along their culture to the host country. They also adapt the various culture of host
country and implement them in the process in order to have a smooth transition of the
expansion.
Manager 2: The 2nd manager also agrees with the 1st manager. As per his statements it is clear
that the multi-national company like Tesco can only add to the growing economical position

of Australia in the world. It is quite clear that the expansion can bring only positive change
for the host country.
Q2: What is your viewpoint regarding the fact that market globalisation reduces the
marketing cost and increase the opportunity of smooth volatile income streams?
Manager 1: According to the 1st manager globalization should be welcomed with open arms.
As stated by him, globalization not only impacts positively both the countries financially but
also it can improve political and social standing of both the countries. As a result of
globalization, it can be seen that many minor conflicts can be resolved as both countries see
their benefits in the process. These expansions or globalisation bring with them financial aid
for the host countries. A lot of local citizens gets job opportunities and naturally it directly
impacts the income streams.
Manager 2: However, 2nd manager expressed different point of view. According to him
globalization sometime impacts negatively the social culture. It also happens that the youth
gets exploited by these multi-national companies as they tend to higher local youth in lower
pay scale and all the important positions they fill with their own people.
Discussing two methods of quantitative data analysis
There are several types of analytical techniques in quantitative data collection such as
frequency calculation in which mean, median, mode and standard deviation are calculated.
Thereafter, the data can be analysed with the help of statistical tools in order to obtain
expected result (Bryman, 2017). In this study, the researcher has obtained the value of mean,
median, mode and standard deviation in order to analyse the quantitative data. In order to
obtain error free research result, the researcher has developed the survey questions
considering the developed objectives. The questions are then evaluated and then verified with
the help of reliability and validity test. Following is the quantitative data collection and
analysis:
Q1: How far do you agree that working in a multinational company like Tesco gives you the
opportunity to be accustomed with a culturally diversified workforce?
Options Responses Response in percent Total respondents

Analysis: As per the above picture we can conclude that the most of the respondent agree that
working in a multi-national company like Tesco helps them to adapt mixed cultures of
various countries. So, it can be safely stated that the employees are aware of the fact that
working in Tesco will mean to be working with people who will be having different cultural
background than them
Q2: How far are you satisfied with the pay scale that Tesco is offering to you?
