INTRODUCTION
The term business function may be define as the activities which are done by the
employees of the organisation to attain the goals of the business(Chatterjee, Ying and
Vishwanath, 2020) . These function play a very important role not only in achieving the
successful position in the competitive market but also help in developing a good image in the
heart and mind of the consumer. The following report is going to discussed on the different
functions of the TESCO plc. The company is the most popular brand of UK founded by Jack
Cohen in 1919 and the headquarter of the TESCO plc is located in England. Afterwords this
report covers the importance of all the different business functions.
MAIN BODY
Marketing department plays a very important role in the success of the business. The main
function of the marketing department is to identify the need and demand of the customer and
promote the business. They also responsible for identifying the market trends and make a
research report according to this. In relation to the TESCO, marketing mix techniques and digital
marketing tactics are used the manager of the manager of the marketing department in order to
increase the sale and make relation with hem.
Finance department, the employees of the financial department is responsible for generating the
different sources of fund for the company. They are also responsible for making the financial
report of the business and managing the account of the business. In relation to the TESCO, the
financial department of the company deals in making the report and budget for the company.
This area is also responsible for the managing the accounts of company and raise long and short
term fund from the market.
Production department, is that part of the company whose main role is to convert the raw
material into the finished goods(Dai and Wang, 2019) . The employees of the company is also
responsible for managing the quality and designing of the different goods and services of the
company. In relation the TESCO plc, the manager of the company is required to maintain the
quality of the goods and services of the company according to the need and demand of the end
consumer.
Human Resource Department, the main responsibility of this department is to recruit the
employees for the organisation. They hire the employees according to the skill needed in each

and every department of the business. In context to the TESCO plc, the manager of the company
is responsible for recruiting the skilled workforce for the company.
Different business functions has its own role and responsibilities within the organisation.
The human resource department of the company fulfil the need of staff for the different
department of the business. The marketing department of the company analysis the market so
that production department make and design the products according to the need(Li and Liu,
2020). The ineffective working of any one department reflects on the success of the business.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that different functional areas have to work together to
attain the objective of the business. This not only help them in sustain in the competitive market
but also help them in achieving the generating more and more profit. This report also concluded
the importance of each role while working together in relation to the TESCO plc.
