INTRODUCTION
Leading and managing change is explained as the process of introducing the changes and
how effectively the change is implemented in the organisation so it doesn't affect the
performance of the organisation and it's employees. The change in the organisation is sometimes
considered as dangerous because it affects the performance of the organisation and if the
employees of the organisation is not comfortable with the organisation then it will impact the
organisation in negative way. This report is about how TESCO managers handle the change in
organisation and implement the changes in such way that tit doesn't affect organisation and it's
employees. The change in organisation is considered as the change in the strategies of the
organisation which can be in terms of operations, finance, human resource etc.
SECTION A
Research on change management demonstrates that a fundamental problem for managers is the
strong tendency that most people have to be suspicious of significant change when it is
first proposed. They also tend to be resistant to its introduction and sometimes to try to
prevent this.
Change in the strategies of the organisation sometimes makes a negative impact on the
organisation. Sometimes the employees of the organisation doesn't get comfortable with the
changes because then the employees have to develop new skills and they have to adapt new
policies. The change in the organisation refereed to as the change in the strategies and adapting
to new policies to make the end product of the organisation effective and efficient to boost the
revenues of the organisation. TESCO is changing their traditional marketing in the digital
marketing this type of change creates a dispute and conflict among the employees of TESCO.
Managers of TESCO have to make sure the proper training should be given to the employees to
adapt the new marketing practices and to make sure that change in strategies doesn't create a
communication gap in the TESCO. The managers also have to face the resistance of employees
in implementing new marketing practices because there is basic human tendency among humans
resist changes and it result in the low morale and confidence of the employees. The lack of
resources also affect the changes because if the organisation doesn't have the proper resources to

implement the changes then it will affect the performance of the employees and performance of
the organisation.

Changes in the organisation made by the managers is to enhance the organisation
performance and to achieve the desired goals and objectives effectively and efficiently. The
managers plays a crucial part in implementing these changes and they have to implement it
effectively so it doesn't affect organisation and it's employees. Managers of TESCO faced
several problems when implementing the new marketing practices the first and major problem
they faced is resist of changes from their employees and employees do resist the changes in the
organisation because they have to adapt to new policies and it also creates pressure in terms of
responsibility. Employees have to develop new skills according to the need of the organisation
which makes them uncomfortable and sometimes change in the organisation also creates job
insecurity because new skilled employees might be needed which will increase the competition
among employees. Managers of TESCO overcome these problems by giving right training to the
employees in order to make them comfortable with the new strategies and changes in the
organisation. They also makes sure that they boost the morale of their employees and to make
sure there is no communication gap among the managers and employees and employees can give
their feedback to the managers regarding any problems and give their suggestions to make any
changes in new strategies.

Strategy in relation to business performance relates to the long-term direction and scope of an
organisation. The ultimate purpose of strategy is to secure and sustain the competitive
advantage of an organisation, where the ‘rational’ and ‘emergent’ models of strategy are
the two dominant approaches to the process.

it doesn't have any pre-determined goals and objectives. Rational model is explained as the plan
or strategy which is formulated by determining the goals and objectives for the future and
focusing on the current market trends and it is an step by step process.

Emergent approach is described as the strategy which is made on focusing on the future

which is coming with the time and adjust with the new competitors. This type of approach
doesn't have a fixed pattern. This type of strategy emerges with the time. Managers of TESCO
uses this kind of approach or strategy because it helps them in managing their resources
effectively and efficiently also this strategy helps them in managing their goals and objective
with the time and helps in making the change in their strategy according to the changing trends
in the market. Emergent approach helps TESCO to prepare them for any competition in the
future and to compete with new competitors in the market and helps them in achieving the
competitive advantage over their competitors. By using emergent approach TESCO is one of the

This report concludes that the strategy formulation and implementation in effective way
is important for the organisation because it can affect the performance of the organisation and
also the performance of it's employees. TESCO makes sure that the approach they are using is
effective so it can make their process of implementation effective and helps them in achieving
the competitive advantage over their competitors. The change in the organisation can affect the
performance of the employees but these challenges can be overcome by effective communication
and training programmes.
