INTRODUCTION
Tesco is a UK based company which is considered as one of the largest retail company
established in 1919. This concern is mainly related to retailing business which includes dealing
in food products, cloth products and home essentials. It is best known for the quality and services
being offered to the general public which helps the organisation to achieve higher customer
satisfaction. Apart from this, this organisation involves a healthy culture where values and ethics
are of great importance as well as the superiors take much care about motivating the subordinates
whenever required for higher excellence.
As per the culture description it is having high rate of positive working factor which help to form
a better and effective decision making. The different kind of people is having various kind of
perception that presumes from background which driven about individual where they came from
such as behaviour, attitudes, religion, caste, age, language and social background. All these plays
an important role towards mapping high rate of change in business attributes. In this report there
is discussion between about culture and its importance which is highly driven perfectly through
mapping all circumstances. Factor of motivation and its one of theories role in culture is better
describe in effective manner. These below aspect ar high consider towards culture topic

Culture is a collection of beliefs, behaviour and attitudes shared among the different group of
people which exist in the organisation for functioning of the task being involved in the business.
For example, different people have their different way of outfits as per their religion which

various parts of a country which brings diversity to the organisation.

There are various kinds of culture which is being incorporated in an organisation. Below are
some of the categories explained as follow :
Power culture
In the entities in which the power culture has been followed, the authority to take decision lies
highly with those candidates who posses the concerned power to influence the different
departments of an organisation.
Role culture
In this culture, rules are being emphasized within an organisation which regulates the culture
being followed. The assignment of power is highly dependent on the roles and responsibility of
an employees that is higher the responsibility, higher the power.
Task culture
According to this culture is describes about major involvement through which individual
whenever specific task has proceeds to only task matter regulation in which individual
person qualities and enough contribution matters towards high accomplishment of goals.
In Tesco there is heavy task environment is proceeds for attainment of goals in effective
manner.

Handy theory of culture
This model was developed by the Charles Handy who was born in Ireland in 1932 and was an
well known philosopher. He defines that there 4 varieties of culture which exist in the
organisation. These are explained as follow :
a. Power culture – In this, powers are lies in the hands of few employees. In this employees are
being judged on the basis of what they achieved rather than how they did it which creates a
biasness among the employees. Sometimes decisions taken by power holders doesnt benefit the
organisation on a long run because of quick decision making operations (Gautam and Basnet,
2020) .
b. Task culture – This culture is largely based on the tasks being assigned. All the power and
authority is being allotted on basis of people with required abilities to perform task.
c. Person culture – It is type of culture that reflect about individual person influence that forms
better work culture in appropriate manner that better undertakes organisation work process in

systematic manner. As per perspective of Tesco, they design person culture when high authority
regulates better and positive working environment through proper managerial aspects.
d. Role culture By approaching this culture which shows organisation growth and development
in infrastructure by individual people working roles where their contribution creates major scope
of development that enhance better proficiency of work. In perspective of Tesco company need
to measure better working attainment that get to proceed to follow better approaching of work in
effective way to attain company goals and objective successful manner.

Communication involves a process in which various information about ideas or concept has been
exchanged between two or more persons for the purpose of understanding information in a
common way. In the context of Tesco, communication plays a major role in circulating various
essential information among the different departments of an organisation. Below are the some
types of communication :
Verbal Communication – In this information is shared orally in the form of words
spoken by the individuals who are involved in the process. It is the most effective form of

Non-verbal communication – This type of communication is reflect the conversation is

Written communication - Through approaching of communication between people as

Visual communication – According to this communication type it formally scrutinize
through majorly working of communication process as approaching better plays of

communication for better working presentation for better longer period of time.
