essential tool which is used to assist employees and helping them in creation of a positive
working environment for them. Tesco, Kingston Branch is the chosen organisation for this
report. It is a British multinational retail store and its headquarters are located in England,
United kingdom. There are various topics discussed which are related with aim & objective of
research with regards to diversity & equality practises. Gantt chart, WBS are also explained in
a detail manner which is being adopted by the researcher to get positive outcomes from this
research.

4. Literature review
Concept of Equality & diversity at workplace
According to view of Angel Sharma (2016) practises related to Diversity & equality
have become a integral part of all organisation. It is important for every company to provide
equal opportunity to all the staff members as it affect positively on the performance of
employees and build good brand image in market. It also assist companies to retain their
employees for longer time frame and achieve objectives in an effective manner.
To analyse the workplace diversity for permitting all kinds of employees from various caste,
creed and race.
According to Jansen, ottem & Van der Zee, (2105) one of the biggest challenges that
companies faces nowadays is workplace discrimination. It affect on the ability of an
organisation to gain competitive edge from its rivals. In order to decline the level of workplace
discrimination, companies conduct improvement and training program in order to instruct
employees as well as higher authorities to treat workers in a good and equivalent way.
Challenges employees are facing due to workplace discrimination and cultural diversity
According to Ozeren, (2014) Workplace discrimination affect on the growth as well as
development of an organisation. The different challenges that companies face due to
workplace discrimination & cultural diversity are decline in profitability level, increase in
absenteeism rate, development of negative attitude and may more. All these affect negatively
on the performance of an organisation due to which their objectives is not achieved within
given time period.

5. Gantt chart & WBS
WBS is a process which is used by researcher so that they can reduce the
complications which is used for braking down of the task into smaller parts and then
attainment of objectives in a more effective manner.
Gantt-chart:
It is a graphical representation being adopted by researcher so that segment can be
done based on various activities. This is very helpful in investigator in attainment of objectives
in a appropriate manner. This is a graphical representation which has information both in
horizontal axis and vertical axis. It is method which is used by researcher so that overall of

For completion of research in an appropriate manner it is very important for researcher
that they have to adopt some techniques which can help them in completion of researcher in
collection of information in a better way.
Primary research: It can be said that this is a made of collecting information from a
completely new source. There are various methods included in this which includes interview,
observation, survey and many others. This is a method which can be used in collecting
information which is authentic and reliable as this is the first hand information which I
collected by the investigator.
Secondary research: This is also a method of collecting information by researcher

have been chosen . This questions is sent to the staff members TESCO who is working in
Kingston Branch via Email. In case of secondary books, journals and article are considered for
collection of information.
Qualitative research: In this investigation method researcher collects non numeric
information that requirement of investigation can be fulfilled. This includes observation,
group discussions and many such related methods.
Quantitative research: this is a systematic method in which information is collected
and numeric and statistical data is collected. This includes information which is collected from
various online polls, sampling, survey through online mediums and so on.
In this research qualitative method will be used by researcher so that information can
be collected and outcomes can be developed.
