Organisation perform their role by collaborating among different resources to achieve their goals
in a stipulated time period. Equality and diversity impacts on company operations and functions
as it generate different issue among workforce. This report is conducted from perspective of
Tesco which is one of the largest UK retail organisation (Bernroider, Wong and Lai, 2014). This
firm performs its operations at different geographical areas, by giving employment to people on
large basis. To analyse issues occur in managing equality and diversity at its workplace, a study
is carried out by highlights on objective and aim of organisation which is related with equal and
diverse workforce of business. Small-scale research will also be included in this report that is
useful to understand qualitative and quantitative research methods.
TASK 1
Aim and Objective
Equality and diversity in an organisation ensure that all individuals or workforce has an
equal or similar access to perform their role among different departments. Tesco was established
in the year 1919 by Jack Cohen which was started the business of groceries from the stall that is
based in East End of London. Currently, their are more than 450,000 employee's are engaged in
company operations which helps to operate more than 6,800 stores at various geographical
locations. Tesco perform and manage their work at a broad level which is used to engage
individual from different background culture, background and value for a similar project. It
refers that all employees of Tesco are focused to achieve company goals and objectives but due
to difference in their culture it becomes complex for management to manage proper coordination
among them and the reason for gap among workforces is change in language that formulate

diverse and equality workforce which is essential to overcome is related with difference in
culture among workers, that highly impact on entire operations of respective firm.
