INTRODUCTION
In today's time for every company it is essential to conduct business through e commerce
platform because through that they able to gain numbers of benefits like increase customer's
base, sales, profit and many more (Moyle and et. al., 2019). E commerce is considered as
electronic mediums through which a company can sell their product and services through online
medium. The organization selected for this presentation is TESCO which is operating in retail
industry and it is founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen. Its head office is located at England, United
Kingdom. This report is reflective report which showcases role and responsibilities of team
leader related to project of launching company website.
MAIN BODY
Project evaluation
It is important for an organisation to conduct their business on e-commerce platform as to
expand their business service. This will not only benefit them to gain more growth opportunities
but also allow them to ensure high profitability.
Proposed research aim and objectives for current plan of TESCO is specified as below:
Research aim:
To expand TESCO’s Marketing through an e-commerce platform
To enhance TESCO’s customers base and profitability through an e-commerce platform
Research Objectives:
To increase profitability of TESCO by 10% in next 6 months with e-commerce platform.
To enhance customer base of TESCO by 15% with effective marketing activities in 1
year.
In order to initiate business on E-commerce platform TESCO, manager undertakes advantage
of different websites and e-commerce platforms. In order to ensure success company manager
will develop effective planning so that significant decisions related allotting roles and
responsibilities towards individuals can be taken in effective manner. While doing so in
appropriate manner all the main stakeholders such as employees, investors, suppliers’ etc. will
going to be involved in whole process. In relation to this, manager make sure that proper and

effective resources to IT department such as strong networking measure has been provided as to
effectively ensure success of project. In order to ensure effectiveness of decisions TESCO higher
department authorities decided to conduct regular meetings. By undertaking all these measures
into account company manager effectively ensure accomplishment of project in time effective
manner. Further it has been evaluated that, entity by all these measures into account significantly
assure success of project in a well defined manner. Apart from these all the responsibilities has
been allotted to concern individuals as per according to their expertise, skills and capabilities.
Further it has been identified that TESCO have collaborated with market influencers and
experienced researchers in order to gain proper information and data related to online business
platform. This will benefit company to effectively conduct their business on e-commerce
platform whole ensuring high profitability and growth opportunities.
Self evaluation
In present project, which is based on launching e-commerce platform for Tesco, I have
worked within four groups of members. Here, I have played the role of team-member, who is
responsible for planning, execution and successfully completion of project. Along with this,
team-leader performs a number of roles and responsibilities, where any error could lead the
project towards failure. Such responsibilities include introducing entire members with each other
and developing collaboration among them, in order to make an effective team. This would enable
a leader to gain support of subordinates in accomplishment of each activity, as well as meeting
deadline in desired way. For this purpose, skills which are essential to handle leadership position,
includes a good communication; strong organizational knowledge and abilities; willingness to
delegate; powerful facilitator and more (Norcross and Lambert, 2019). Therefore, while working
on present project, I have measured my own abilities, to evaluate how much I able to perform a
leadership role. The main ability of mine that strengthen my leadership position in team is
negotiator and powerful facilitator. Here, strong negotiation skills make me able to negotiate
with other members on decisions which are taken for accomplishment of present project. I have
easily make negotiation with members and influenced them to give support in resolving team
conflicts, so that positive environment can be maintained for project completion. Similarly, being
a powerful facilitator, I have helped other members that are supervisors, web designers and
financial managers, in understanding their part of role and gain their support in making an action
plan, to meet entire goals efficiently. Furthermore, another main skill that enables me to make

plan and objectives systematically of given project, is ICT knowledge. Through this ability, I
have performed each and every activity such as setting goals and objectives; making action
plans; and so on, in efficient and more systematically.
But due to less of self-confidence I have faced a number of issues as well, because
remaining three members with whom I have worked on project, are on well-position. So, making
interaction with them somewhere, arise problems at initial stage (Nulden and Scheepers, 2020).
But with cooperation of team-supervisor, I have developed my confidence and contributed my
best efforts with delegation, to meet project deadline. In this regard, I have analysed that working
on this project has driven a great experience in my life. It has provided me opportunity to work
with high-skilled and experienced members, whose cooperation enables me to prove my
leadership qualities effectively. But still there are some areas, where I need to work on, such as
management skills which is essential for every leader to possess, to manage time and resources
systematically for completion of each activity. For this purpose, I would take some management
classes before taking next project and will work under guidance of my seniors also, to analyse
how influential skills makes a leader able, to gain commitment of team-members for meeting
common goals. Working on this project, has also give me a chance to understand how launching
business on e-commerce proves beneficial, as well as creates challenges for a firm, so that proper
strategies can be made in advance.
Team performance evaluation
In current project we are working as a team leader of project related to launching of e
commerce site or platform for Tesco. In this project we are worked in four team members in
whom my responsibility is to conduct planning, executing and monitoring succession of project.
According to me we all perform our work in effective manner because we understand our role
and responsibilities properly. In team we played various essential roles such as from use I
develop strategies for my team members so that we launch e commerce site properly as well as
we also provide training to other members of team as that will help them in performing work in
effective manner. Moreover we are also communicate with team members for understand their
issues, view point and feedback, then accordingly we develop strategies or action plan. Overall
we are very happy with our performance in this project because we able to understand our
strengths as well as weaknesses in effective manner.

While conducting work with team we able to analyse different strengths of team through
which we attain out desire goal and objectives. Strengths of team can be determined through all
team members’ team supervisors, web designer, finance and resource manager and I, we all are
cooperative in nature. Due to this we effectively communicate with each other as well as that
also help us in avoiding situations which may arise conflict while working in team. Along with
this, we all team members are always ready to take risk which provides us opportunities to adopt
creativity and innovation at each level of project (Ullmann, 2019). It is also considered as one of
the main factor of successful accomplishment of project in team. We all team members
understand our role and responsibilities which help us in performing allotted work in effective
way as well as in allotted time duration. According to me these are strengths of my team which
help us in accomplishing whole project successfully and effectively.
During conducting project team we analyse that there are some factors according to
which we all team members need to conduct improvement practices because that will help us in
conducting work effectively in future. We all team members are poor in time management work
which affect our working target because we not able to accomplish work properly according to
the allotted time duration. Along with this, in a team there are some members including me who
are has lack of self confidence which affect our performance when we have to showcase whole
plan in front of others or senior (Webb and et. al., 2019). So areas for the team improvement are
related to time management and confidence because both the aspect impact on the performance
of all team members badly as well as it also impact on the desire outcome.
CONCLUSION
By above discussed point it can be summarise that for making team project successful
efforts of all team members are necessary because all play their role and responsibility in proper
manner. Moreover after accomplishment of project, members of team need to conduct evaluation
of their work and team members because through it they able understand or know about their
strengths as well as weakness. This will also help them in developing decision for the polishing
strengths and overcoming weakness in effective manner as that will help in developing effective
future. Individual also need to analyse project work too because that will help in evaluating
whether they accomplish work properly or not.
