INTRODUCTION
E-Commerce is considered as a technique which is used by organisations to enhance their
market share. In order to expand Tesco's marketing e-commerce platform is used which will help
it to enhance its profitability by attracting large number of customers. There are four team
members in the team who are playing different roles in the teams (Galegher, Kraut and Egido,
2014). These are Team supervisor, Team leader, Finance and resource manager and web
developer. I have played the role of team supervisor and I was mainly responsible to organise all
the activities in systematic manner and track performance of the organisation. This essay covers
various topics such as project, self and team performance evaluation.
MAIN BODY
Project evaluation
A task regarding developing a website for Tesco was assigned to my class and tutor
formulated different groups of four individuals. In my team there were four members who played
different roles. I was the team supervisor and I was analysing work of all the other individuals
who were working within the team. Other role were team leader, web developer, finance and
resource manager. Main responsibility of mine is to assess that all the other group members are
working properly or not. I was also liable to manage the team performance so that the goals of us
could be accomplished.
While completing the task I performed various activities such as guiding all the team
mates to perform their jobs properly, resolving all their issues and providing support to them so
that they can work effectively. When we were working on the project one of my team member
who was playing the role of web developer was little bit confused because of different options
available for website designing. At this stage I supervised him and all the other team members
helped to decide a specific design which could be used by us for the website (Galegher, Kraut
and Egido, 2014).
I formulated various decisions so that I can contribute in the good performance of team. I
asked all the group members to meet daily after the classes so that we can discuss about the
project. In order to develop the website we require proper funding for which I also made
decisions regarding allocation of resources because it was my main responsibility to assign
budget to all the team members so that they can perform their tasks. In order to analyse the

progress of whole project I was responsible to conduct frequent meetings for which I made
decision of meeting for at least 1 hour daily so that I can analyse that work is progressing or not.
All the decisions which were taken by me resulted positively because it helped us to
complete the project successfully. All the judgements which were passed by me facilitated all the
team members to fulfil requirements of their roles properly and contribute in the good
performance of whole group.
Self evaluation
My role in the group of four people was team supervisor and I tried to fulfil all their
requirements of my role so that the e-commerce project could be completed by us on time.
Different responsibilities of mine were assessing the work of all the group members, guiding all
of them to work effectively, formulate effective decisions, conduct frequent meeting to
determine progress of project etc. My experience of working as a supervisor was very good
because it was the first time when I was handling a team and supervising individuals to meet
their targets. This opportunity helped me to assess the way in which a team should be handled
calmly and supportively (Gluyas, 2015).
While working on the project I determined different strengths and weaknesses of mine.
Some of the positive aspects of my personality which were analysed by me during the project are
effective leadership skills, communication, team working etc. With the help of all these strengths
I performed all the tasks properly which was beneficial for completion of whole project. During
the project I communicated with all the individuals working on the project so that I can guide
them to work properly. Some of the weaknesses which were diagnosed by me while working on
the project are lack of ability to deal with conflicts, weak time management etc. These are some
of the negative aspects of my behaviour which affected my work during the project. When all of
us were confused about the design of website then a little conflict took place because all the
group members were frustrated. In this situation I was not able to remain calm but my strong
communication helped me to interact with all the individuals and deal with the situations
properly. I also diagnosed that my time management skills are also little bit weak which may
affect the successful completion of the project. It was dealt by me by formulating effective plans.
During the completion of the project the main lesson which was learnt by me was dealing
with all the issues calmly as it helps to reduce the burden from mind. When all the team
members were arguing about the design of website then I learnt this lesson that it is very

important to handle all the situations properly so that work could be completed properly. The
main area of improvement for me is to improve my time management skills. By improving them
I will be able to handle all the critical situations properly in upcoming period.
Team performance evaluation
The task related to e-commerce was assigned in the groups and there were four
individuals in my team. I was the team supervisor who was responsible to make sure that
appropriate efforts are made by each and every individual for enhancing performance. Naznin
Sultana was working as a leader who was responsible for development of strategies so that all the
desired goals of the organisation could be accomplished (Salmon, Stanton and Jenkins, 2017).
All the aims and objectives were presented by her in front of all the other team members. Basir
Ahmed was working as a web designer in the group and he was mainly responsible for deigning
the website which was the part of our e-commerce project. Mohosina Aktar was working as a
finance and resource manager and the main responsibility of her was to make sure that
appropriate funds are allocated to all the team members so that they can complete their tasks. All
of us performed very well as a team as all of us tried to meet the timeline which was decided by
us for the whole project.
The major strengths of the team were communication and timely interaction of all the
team members. All the individuals who were working for the project were responsible to make
sure that they are performing all their tasks properly. All of us interacted with each other before
taking a decision which helped us to work collaboratively and reach to the final judgement. With
the help of it, E-commerce project was completed on time with proper guidance of mine and
effective work of all the team members. Another strength of our team was support of team leader
and supervisor which helped all the other individuals to make sure that they try to complete the
whole project on time and meet the goals which are formed. Some of the key areas where team
faced issues were lack of conflict resolution skills (Valentine, Nembhard and Edmondson, 2015).
Due to this, some of the decisions were biased because the group members were not agreeing to
the decision of web design. There were various options available to us which was creating
confusion and it also resulted in conflicts.
The major key area of improve for the team was dealing with all the grievances properly
so that the issues which are affecting team performance could be ignored. In order to perform
such types of tasks for similar projects in future it is very important for all the team members to

make sure that they are dealing with conflicts properly. With the help of it, difficulties in future
could be dealt systematically (Weller, Boyd and Cumin, 2014).
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion it has been concluded that for all the individuals who are
handling a team or working as a supervisor it is very important to make sure that all the members
are performing appropriately. With the help of it, the project which is assigned to the team could
be completed properly. In order to make sure that all the tasks are performed effectively or not it
is essential for supervisors to evaluate himself, team and the project. The task related to e-
commerce was performed by me and my team by paying attention towards key elements. All of
us worked productively so that all the goals which were formed by us could be accomplished
successfully.
