INTRODUCTION
Employability skills is a bundle of achievements, knowledge, attributes and
understanding that make a person more eligible to gain employment and to be successful in their
selected career (Asonitou, 2015). TESCO is an online service provider of United Kingdom.
Report will describe work problems and solutions. Next step will explain the role of people in a
team and lastly, it will discuss strategy of problem solving.
LO 2.1 Work problem
TESCO is an online grocery, banking and mobile phone services provider of United
Kingdom. TESCO has large number of employees and they have their own problems.
Some issues of employees and solutions are mentioned below-
Unpaid Overtime- Because of work load, TESCO employees have to extend their work time,
where they work for 9 hours, or sometimes due to work pressure they even extend theirn
working time up to 12 hours. Management do not pay them for their overtime. Solution of this
unpaid overtime, employees can complain and demand to change their unfair management.
Management- TESCO management is another problem. They do not provide facilities according
to employees’ skills and their behaviour towards them is not good. Solution of worker's problems
is that they can complain against management to company’s CEO and demand for appropriate
facilities (Benson, Morgan and Filippaios, 2014). Top management need to take employees
problem seriously and should take some strict actions or provide the newest technical facilities.
Company environment- Company environment is also a challenge for workers. They can't
perform according to their capabilities. TESCO employees try to create a healthy working
environment with the help of management because this is not a single person’s task. Solutions to
any problem is the result of mutual understanding of management and employees.
Solution :
Unpaid over time : Tesco tell each and every employees that the company is committed
to paying its workers properly, and internal staff who feel they have not been paid for
hours worked should talk to their personnel manager about over time.

Management : There are many factors will help to solve problem related to management
are time and attendance, business forecasting, work force demand planning and staff self
services etc. All such kind of factors play most important role in internal management.
Company environment : Environment policies play a most important role inside
organisation. With the help of innovation to be improve current as well as future
performance of internal environment.
LO 3.1 People role in a team to achieve organization goals
Team workers are those people who ensure team bonding. TESCO team is a group of
people who work to accomplish goals. Without them, team can't be function. They make efforts
to achieve goals and objectives. Team generally have members with specific skills and generate
opportunities through efforts, which are necessary to team people to increase their strengths and
reduce weaknesses. People work for their team to achieve targets and make profits. They are an
important part of any organization (Collet, Hine and du Plessis, 2015). They work together to
accomplish company’s or team goals. They have one common goal and must make efforts to
achieve them. A Team leader divides work among them according to their skills. If they work
against each other, then team never meet the objectives. They must have a mutual understanding
to work as a team. Use of skills, knowledge and focus needs to be made in order to make sure
that the set goals can be achieved in effective manner. Work with understanding make their
work easy and achievable. It is necessary to accomplish goals when people work as a team
without any conflicts. On the other hand, Belbin’s framework play a most important role for
improving team performance inside organisation. This way that wherever grouping are involved
within an arrangement, Belbin can give the communication to ensure that individuals and group
communicate and work jointly with greater perceptive.
3.3 Alternative ways to complete task and goal
Team divide their tasks according to time period. They arrange their goals both on long
and short term basis. Teams formed can be divided in to two parts, one for long term and second
for short term.
Long term goal- Long term team member prepares plan and allocate work among members.
Roles and responsibilities are divided among members according to skills and utilize optimum

resources of an organization to accomplish goals (Alternative Ways to Get Things Done, 2016).
Division of work gives direction to them on how can they perform their work. Team leader of
TESCO guides them when they face any problem. Project head should be appoint who can
provide responsibilities to handle the project and team in efficient manner.
Short term goal- These team members make a short term plan for their goals and follow guide
line. Tesco short term team perform their work efficiently because this plan does not take time.
Leaders should have proper understanding about the skilled that each member possess and
should divided the roles accordingly. As per the roles and responsibilities divided each member
should perform with their full efficiency (Jackling and Natoli, 2015). Targets should be specified
to each member so that they are able to set up path through which it can be attained. Short and
long term work division reduces the work pressure and employees try to perform with their full
capability. There are different ways must be selected for help to complete task are as follows :
Delegation : Delegation is help to any responsibility or authority to some other person to
carry out limited activities.
Job rotation : In this context, rotation of job will be help to improve level of working
habit. This is kind of techniques used by employees inside organisation, rotated
employees job throughout the environment.
Job enlargement : Job enlargement means the increase the scope of job, through
exceeding the different range of job. They are to be focus on increase responsibilities and
role in same level.
LO 4 4.2 Strategy for problem resolving
TESCO employees’ problem is unpaid overtime. They have to find out a proper solution
of this issue. Long work hours are an increasing feature of company. The growing prevalence of
long working hours is a problem, which makes negative impact on workers' health and mental
level (Messum and et.al., 2016). To reduce work load on TESCO, employees extend their
working hours, but company does not pay them for their overtime. To solve this issue,
management or employees come under one roof and make a strategy which is beneficial for both.
In order to solve this issue proper plan should be made in which amount of money for each hour
and workers should be paid according to the overtime done by them. This strategy should be

appropriate and applicable. Plan developed can become profitable not only for company but also
employees too. TESCO makes a strategy, which appreciate employees to do their work more
efficiently. They give their best during extra working hours. Pay for overtime is more profitable
for company because to earn more money, employees give their hundred percent in productivity
and it generates huge profit (Messum and et.al., 2016). Providing extra pay for overtime is
workers' right and company must follow employment law and provide money for their extra
efforts. Strategy can only be enforced effectively when employees are satisfied and company
gets benefited.
Problem solving cycle is play a most important part and help to solve different
problem inside work place.
Identify the problem : The first step is to be focus on identify the problem, which will
give negative impact on overall working environment. The main problem face by
organisation is over time working.
Explore problem strategies : There are to be focus on explore the strategy, think about
some different elements will help to solve problem inside work place.
Set goals : Goal setting is crucial to reach your strategic objectives. Goal setting is a
powerful process for thinking about ideal future, and for motivating turn vision of this
future into reality.
Look for alternative : There are some change must be made for alternative problem must
be solve with the help of different kind of solution to be provided.
Select the possible solution : Decide which of the available options will choose. In
addition, should be prepared to give reasons why and be able to show that this is the best
of all options available.
Implementation of particular solution : There are many factors, to be select best solution
for improving overall development of internal working environment.
Evaluation the result : There are some changes is made by possible solution and
determine if it is the best possible solution to the problem.

CONCLUSION
There are different type of issues that are a being faced within the organization. In all
these aspect, is important to make sure that proper interaction is taken place among workers so
that they perform their set of roles effectively. Employees should be monitored and the issues
faced by them needs to be analysed, accordingly steps should be taken in order to make
employees perform their roles with their full efficiency.
