RESEARCH METHODS
Research methods are known as procedures and methods for accumulating piece of
information in relation to the study of investigation. The main motive of selecting methodologies
is supporting researcher in accumulating valid piece of information. In the present investigation,
different types of methodologies are used such as research approach, research philosophy,
research strategy, research choice etc. The two very significant methodologies are: qualitative
and quantitative.
1. Research Design
Research design defines the framework of research techniques and methods that are
selected by a researcher. The design that is selected by investigator allow them in utilising the
methods that are quite suitable for the study. Basically the design of the research could be
quantitative, qualitative or mixed. The design has several methods like correlation studies,
survey, experimental studies etc. It also includes different elements like research approach,
philosophy, strategy etc.
Research Philosophy: Research philosophy is described as the method that facilitates in
collection and analysis of data. With the assistance of research philosophy, investigator could
easily use, evaluate and gather data. The research philosophy is classified into three main types
that are: epistemology, axiology and ontology. Investigator has dependent upon epistemology
philosophy because it provides three more important sub-parts that are: positivism, interpretivism
and realism. In the current investigation, researcher has chosen positivism philosophy because it
assists in evaluating numerical data in shorter period of time (Daniel, 2018). On the other hand,
the other methodologies are not used because they do not focus on evaluating numeric data.
Research Approach: Research approach is referred as the methodology that helps in
evaluating gathered data through effective and efficient way. The approaches are very significant
for researcher because it helps in identifying the relevancy and reliability of information. The
approaches are divided into two main types such as inductive and deductive approach.
Investigator has chosen deductive approach because it assists in evaluating numerical
information in short time duration. The deductive approach is practical in nature and considers
statistical data for attaining aim and objectives. On the other hand, inductive approach is not

selected by investigator because it focuses on evaluating non-numeric data and takes longer time
duration (Mackey and Bryfonski, 2018).
Research Strategy: Research strategy is known as one of the major types of research
methodology because it aims at collecting reliable and valid data. There are many kinds of
research strategy that include: survey, case study, action research, grounded theory, experimental
research, systematic literature review etc. Investigator has chosen survey and systematic
literature review as main strategies. Investigator will choose survey strategy because it facilitates
in accumulating numeric piece of information and primary piece of information. Survey is the
great method for gathering data directly from the source and under this researcher will choose
questionnaire method. Systematic literature review is also great method for collecting secondary
data because in this already published information will be used for attaining defined aim and
objectives.
Research Choice: Research choice is referred as the procedure of gathering piece of
information in relation to the subject. The research choice is mainly classified into three main
types that are: mono method, multi-method and multi-mixed method. Researcher will select
mono research choice because it provides chance of selecting either quantitative or qualitative
method. Under mono research method, researcher will choose quantitative choice because it
majorly focuses on numerical information. Quantitative method is very helpful because it
facilitates in accumulating numerical and statistical data in shorter time period. It will focus on
accumulation numerical facts and figures to attain aim and objectives in the given short period of
time (Thomson and McLeod, 2015).
Time Horizon: Time is known as one of the important elements while doing research
because it will inform about the needed time duration to attain aim and objectives. The
methodology of time horizon is divided into two main types that are: cross-sectional and
longitudinal time horizon. Investigator will choose cross-sectional time horizon because it helps
in attaining aim and objectives in real time situation. On the other hand, investigator will not
choose longitudinal time horizon because it does not depend upon real time situation or
condition. Hence, with the help of cross-sectional researcher aims at achieving defined objectives
in shorter time period.

2. Data Collection and analysis
Data Collection: Data collection is referred as the procedure through which investigator
aims at collecting appropriate data. The data collection is classified into two main types that are:
primary and secondary data collection. Researcher will select primary as well as secondary data
collection as per the requirement of research. Primary data collection will be used in the present
research because it helps in taking out first-hand information in shorter time period through
instrument known as questionnaire. Secondary data collection will also be used in the current
research because it helps in using published data from the sources like books, articles, journals,
newspapers etc. The current investigator will also conduct questionnaire for collecting primary
data and for this 45 managers will be chosen as respondents (Van den Brink and et. al., 2016).
The respondents will be selected randomly without any specific criteria.
Data Analysis: Data analysis is known as the methodology that majorly concerned about
the evaluation and examination of gathered whether it is reliable or not to attain aim and
objectives. The present research will depend upon quantitative data so researcher will take help
of frequency distribution analysis to find reliability and accuracy of data.
Time framework: For scheduling activities with proper time period researcher will take
help of Gantt chart. It is very useful chart because it has two bars in which one has activities and
tasks and the other one has proper time interval.
Document Page
Ethics, validity and reliability: For conducting research, investigator has focused towards
conducting research in ethical manner. So researcher has followed principle of confidentiality,
not harming respondents etc. Researcher will also focus towards doing research in valid and
reliable manner by gathering information from effective sources.
Limitations of the research: While conducting research, researcher has to face some
limitations related to time, communication and cost.
