INTRODUCTION
Globalization has created a huge competition, challenges as well as opportunities for
business organizations across the world. It has created a financial as well as the economic
shift from the developing to emerging nations by promoting global economic-
interdependency and sense of cultural awareness (Cavusgil, et al., 2014). The multinational
organizations like Tesco have great growth opportunities in the international market and the
internal and external business and culture of the company is greatly affected due to
globalization. This project will support the company in identifying and analyzing the cultural
impact of the increasing level of labour migration on human resource management within
the Tesco Company. The different aspects of project planning and implementation will be
applied in this project to make sure that the project would successfully meet its objectives.

ACTIVITY 1: RESEARCH PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN
PROJECT BACKGROUND
Tesco is a well-known supermarket retailer based in the UK. The company operates its retail
outlets across the different locations of the world. It is a multinational groceries and general
product store founded by Jack Cohen. The company offers cheap and affordable products to
its customers. Currently, it has 6,569 shops across different locations of the world with
around 460,000 employees. Employees are the key assets of the Tesco as they are in direct
connection with the customers (Tesco, 2019) Being a multinational organization, the
workforce at the Tesco is consisting of employees with different cultural, religious and
economic background that affects human resource management at the organization and
affects the human resource strategies and policies at the company. Globalization has also
facilitated labour migration due to the workforce at Tesco has become very dynamic. Thus,
this research project will provide a proper understanding of the cultural impact of increasing
level of labour migration on the human resource management function at the organization.
PROJECT AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
This research project is set to identify and analyze the cultural impact of increasing level of
labour migration on the human resource management and strategies of Tesco Company. It
will support in identifying the impact of globalization on the human resource management
of the multinational business organizations like Tesco. In order to achieve its stated aim, the
following objectives have been formulated;
To understand the impact of globalization on the organizational culture of the
multinational business organization
To analyze the level of international labour migration within the Tesco

TIMEFRAME
Time management is an important factor for completing any business project successfully as
the in the absence of proper time management plan the project make not completed on
right time and may lose its relevance to the company (Kerzner and Kerzner, 2017). Thus, a

of the project (Meredith and Mantel Jr, 2011).

project activities effectively. In this project, the information among the project manager and
team members would be exchanged through the relevant sources like e-mail, Fax, calls and

Risks are always present in every kind of project. Some risks are certain and some are
uncertain. The certain risks like lack of time and funds can be mitigated through a risk
management plan (Hillson, 2017). This project is exposed to the technological risks and risk
of lack of time and funds that can be handled through proper planning.
RESOURCES
The key resources required in this project are financial resources, human resources, and
materials. The financial resources are estimated through a project budget and a team of 10-
12 members is required to perform all the essential activities of this project.

ACTIVITY 2: CARRY OUT RESEARCH AND EVALUATE
Business research supports having a clear understanding of the conceptual as well as
practical knowledge about the research topic. A mixed research approach is used in this
project by involving both qualitative and quantitative research methods. A method of the
literature review is used for qualitative data collection and a method of questionnaire
survey is used for collecting quantitative data (Saunders and Lewis, 2012). The applied
research method has supported in meeting the set research objectives and formulating
meaningful outcomes to the research project.
QUALITATIVE RESEARCH
The literature review is been performed for analysing the organizational culture and current
level of international labour migration within the Tesco. The qualitative data will be
collected through accessing relevant literature sources like books, journals, online blogs and
company annual reports (Costley, et al., 2010). This would provide significant information
about the impact of globalization on the organizational culture of Tesco and other
multinational business organization.
Naor et al (2010) have conducted a study which helps in understanding the globalization of
operations and their impact on the organizational culture are significant level. It has been
evident that the national and organizational culture possesses huge importance in the
functioning of the organization. The globalization possesses a huge role in shrinking the

organizations that they conduct their operations by considering the cultural aspects
effectively so that they could gain competitive advantage. The study has been helpful in
understanding the role of management in handling the cultural impact and assisting the
organization in gaining competitive advantage.
According to Islam et al (2011), the globalization assists in maintaining organizational culture
and knowledge sharing at a significant level. The study has been helpful in understanding
the relationship between the organizational cultures along with knowledge sharing. The
cultural assimilation due to globalization has resulted in diversity in the workplace. The

QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH
Quantitative data is collected through the survey questionnaire. The survey questionnaire is
performed by sending a questionnaire to the employees of Tesco for identifying the level of
international migration and its impact on the organizational culture of the company. A set of
7-8 questions closed-ended questions is prepared to collect the information (Flick, 2015).
The respondents were randomly selected and the survey form will be sent to them through
e-mail with a sample population of 50.

EVALUATION OF THE ACCURACY AND RELIABILITY OF THE APPLIED RESEARCH METHODS
The research methods which have been utilized in the project are helpful in attaining the
required knowledge for the project. The qualitative and quantitative research methods have
been utilized in the research method with the help of a literature review and survey so that
the primary and secondary data could be collected effectively. The literature review process
has been helpful in attaining secondary data through the peer review of similar studies.
Further, the survey helps in attaining the primary data through the collection of responses
from the respondents. The information which has been attained from the application of
research methods has been significant and assists in meeting the aim and objectives
effectively.
