Comparison of different roles and characters of manager and leader
In order to organise business effectively, it is important to understand the concept of
management and leadership. The comparison of roles and characteristics of leaders and
managers of Tesco group has been done in this section.

Managers of Tesco are responsible for managing the multi-tasking activities of the
organization. It is done for accomplishing the objectives based on the availability of resources
and working operations. Management team of Tesco are responsible for planning and
organizing the business for enhancing the sales figures. On the other hand, leadership is the
real-life approach which is used for encompassing the ability of the organization. As
mentioned by Willis et al. (2017), leadership aids in motivating the staff members in order to
achieve the goals of the organization and smoothening the functions of the organizations.
Leaders of Tesco are responsible for providing lessons of time utilisation and controlling the
workplace for monitoring the performance of the staffs.

Tesco is found to develop leadership qualities among the employees starting from
administrators and all customer assistants. They believe that every employee should be
provided equal opportunities along with respect. Managers of the Tesco group are responsible
for organizing the human as well as physical resources for achieving the business objectives.
On the contrary, leadership is about motivating and inspiring people to develop strong teams.

where managers communicate the approaches effectively to their members before allocating
tasks. Hence, it can be said that task allocation are the functions of management.
On the other hand, style of leadership is based on the task dependency. Leaders of Tesco are
found to empower their team members so that they can understand the process of achieving
the objectives. These way team leaders are able to motivate their team members and draw the
expertise members from the entire team. Tesco is found to engaged for looking on the
managers that are having characters of positivity, genuineness and confident. The main
