INTRODUCTION
Organisation culture is all about the value, believes and code of conduct which are
followed by the company. It is something which is required to be followed by the employees of
the company in order to work with the organisation. In this present report TESCO has been
chosen for assessment. TESCO is a British multinational groceries company which has its
headquarter in England. Establishment is a public limited company which got established in the
year 1919. This report will majorly focus on Various approaches to management styles within
TESCO. In addition to this, concept of organizational behaviour will be explained in detail.
Furthermore, relationship between motivation, organizational behaviour and impacts on
performance in the TESCO will be analysed in brief.
TASK 1
P.4 Different approaches to management styles within TESCO
Classical approach: This theory says that every worker of the company focuses on their
physical and economic needs for improvement in public services of Tesco. They do not majorly
concentrates on the job satisfaction from their work instead of that employees are more oriented
towards profits of the company. This have structured the fact that this will increase the
productivity of the organisation. Therefore, public service must be improve with effective
consideration in business.
Bureaucratic theory: This theory is given by Max Weber, here it has been said by the
author that in order to establish an organisation, Bureaucracy is the best way for that. So Tesco
should follow the hierarchy system (Crane, 2017). This theory helps the organisation in running
more smoothly and it will be easy to know and understand the legal relationship rules. For
instance, implementation of hierarchy system in the Tesco with providing different instructions
and information for public services.
Administrative management theory: It is an important theory of management which
says that there should be a formal organisational structure to run and operate a company
effectively. Which means that there should be a clear division of labour and power of the
employees must be delegated properly. It is necessary to do the same as per administrative theory
of management. For instance, Tesco provide communication among staff members for delegate

TESCO, this is being followed by the organisation where the manager has major concentration
on betterment of the working conditions and standardizing the tools. In order to implement this
management theory in business, it is essential to focus on cause and effect relationship. This is
because, it contains increasing productivity and efficiency at workplace to concentrate on
working conditions and standardizing.
Management styles
There are different styles of management which are used by manager of TESCO to
manage the company, some of them are described in the detail below:
Autocratic management style: It is a type of management style where the manager takes the
decision unilaterally. Here the consent or acceptance from the juniors and subordinates has not
been asked. Manager takes all the decision which they feel is right for the organisation and helps
in achieving the goals of the company. Within Tesco, if manager adopt this style, they need to
take decisions with themselves without any involvement of staff members. As a result, they can
work to motivate their staff members with using effective management style.
Consultative style: In this management style employee consent is taken seriously and thus it
leads to better relationship between management and employees of the organisation. TESCO
follows this management style to run its management system and business (Pantouvakis and
Bouranta, 2017). This is the reason the company has been able to maintain good relationship
with its employees. This kind of management style implemented with mutual understanding of
employees and managers. As a result, it contains more effectiveness to run better work and
develop relationship.
Democratic management style: In this management style the manager ensures to involve the
subordinates in the process of decision making. This will help the organisation in taking the
projects more effectively as the management and employee both are entirely involved for the
same (Gagné, 2018). Both work together to create a vision and focuses on achieving the goals for
