principles and practices of project management are vital and associated with right path that
guides and instruct the project manager towards achieving the objectives. Business projects are a
set of total goals which divided in various forms to focus on each function and activities of
company. Project management is a crucial process for organisation which set goals, timelines,
deadlines and project deliveries (Gbadamosi, 2019). It helps in maintaining control and
supervision of project tasks so that, there will be no issues and uncertainties that will impact on
the organisation profitability. This report is going to focus on appropriate research approach and
methods which will helps in collecting relevant data through literature sources. The company
chosen for this report is Tesco, it was established in 1919 in London, UK. The company is one of
the largest supermarket across the UK that capture wide area. Therefore, the research will focus
on one of the most important issue in company about quality management due to the impact of
Covid-19.

The company has diversified operation in other banking, telecom and financial services. The

customer satisfaction (Salama, 2018). Due to the impact of Covid-19, retail industry got decline
the past recent years due to the issue in change of customer preferences, market trends and more
focused on health and quality which impact on the rise in cost of company operations.

management vis all about assuring delivering of right goods and services to the customer.
Quality is the major requirement of every customer while looking to satisfy their demands. The
customer does not compromise in the quality even to pay a higher price for that. Therefore,
quality management is an important concept for the organisation which tends to focus on the
overall operations of the production process. The manger analyse any mistakes, problems and
insufficiency in the production which results in poor quality of products. Therefore, the concept
of total quality management is the priority area for Tesco as it supports with various principles
such as customer focus, leadership, people involvement, process approach and continuous
improvement. These are the essential factors in order to manage quality in production for Tesco.
The company is facing issues due to change in the customer preferences and trends (Klimecka-
Tatar, and Ingaldi, 2021). It affects on the quality of organisation as the products needs to be
highly beneficial for health and immunity but the use of pesticides and other flavoured
ingredients might give good taste but not be beneficial for health. By focusing on customer
satisfaction, the Tesco will be able to generate more revenue and regain its market share. Hence,
it shows that quality management is vital to keep control on the overall activities and tasks in
order to maintain a desired level of excellent output. It avoids any defects and change in the
overall production which assure the need for change in the organisation. It is important to

that are required to ascertain focus on the operation and overall process of the production.,
planning, organising and controlling the formation of product and service. These techniques are
brainstorming, six sigma and lean production methodology and continuous improvement plan.
The technique of six sigma is most effective approach in order to eliminate any mistakes and
defects from the production process. This techniques includes DMAIC procedure which involves
Define, measure, analyse, improve and control. The stage of define shows that, the manager
needs define the overall problems which they have found in the process. Defining problems will
lead to analyse its solution by finding the root cause and eliminate those defects from the

world and the positivism research philosophy works according to factual basis. The data is
collected and then research is done in objective manner. There is need of Interpretivism
research philosophy to complete the research in proper manner.
Research approach: This is used to evaluate the data in proper manner. The topic of
research is decided and then it is important to collect information related to the topic. There
are two types of research that are inductive and deductive research. The use of inductive
research is done when the research is based on theories and that help to analyses the
information. In deductive research scientific ways are used to analyze the data. Inductive
resaerch is used in this case because qualitative data is taken into considered.
Research Design: It can be defined as right framework that assist in gaining
suitability of data. The use of exploratory research will help the researcher to achieve the
