INTRODUCTION
Communication is important process that helps in exchange of crucial information
between employees that are working in organisation so that overall objectives can be achieved.
Due to digital transformation most of the company are using social media and other technology
for effective communication in workplace so that different task can be completed within limited
time frame. Purpose of report is to explain importance of communication through digital
technology in growth and success of enterprise. This report is about Tesco that is multinational
company operates in retail industry to provide best customers experienced so that their needs can
be fulfilled. Different types of communication strategies that are used by Tesco manager to
communicate with employees on facebook, twitter and intragram for smooth operation of
business. The report has selected social media in workplace for communication among various
other topics for conducting research.
A) Social Media in workplace to communicate
There are several changes and innovation in digital technology that have forced
companies to use social media to communicate with employees in workplace. Social media is
one of the cheapest and quick method to establish strong and better relationship with various
employees for effective operation of business. It can be stated that Tesco have make effective
utilisation of social media to communicate with employees within workplace and set examples
for other retailers to use similar techniques so that requirements of customers can be fulfilled in
best possible manner (Retailers successfully using social media, (2019). Social media is best
platform that helps in effective marketing and building of strong brand image of enterprise in
competitive market condition. Several strategies that have been used by Tesco manager for
effective communication between workers can be stated below:
Facebook: Company have made effective utilisation of facebook to communicate with
employees within workplace such as HR through facebook page have informed employees about
recent policies, changes in operation that firm wants to bring in near future for growth and
sustainability of enterprise. It can provide notice to various employees about meeting, timing
schedule at which employees need to be presented. Employees can also share their feeling, view
or innovative idea through facebook that can helps company in gaining competitive advantages.

Twitter: It can be stated that firm have increased its presence in twitter by creating various
accounts for different stores so that information can be easily exchanged and quick decision can
be made for overall growth of firm. It is one of the best medium that helps in engagement and
motivation of employees as they can tweet their respective idea and creativity on such accounts.
Through twitter accounts employees are able to know about various works that they need to be
performed in organisation thus it helps in better and quick communication.
Company blog: It is another social media that has helped Tesco manager to communicate with
employees in workplace such as company through posting attractive and innovative content or
crucial information about its various changes that it is planning to bring in near future so that it
can earn more profitability. Employees of Tesco are able to get recent information and changes
that firm have decided to bring to achieve its respective objectives (How Tesco uses social media
to engage its staff, (2014). Therefore it can be stated that several social media platform helps
manager to motivates and induce employees to put their best so that firm can retained and
develop strong brand image for maximum number of profitability.
Recommendation
Various recommendation can be suggested to Tesco manager for building effective
communication within workplace by use of digital media so that customers needs can be fulfilled
in best possible manner (Weidner, O’Brien and Wynne, (2016). Therefore different social media
that can be used by company for maintain strong interrelationship among employees can be
illustrated as follows:
Linked Id: Manager and leaders through making their respective id on Linked can easily
communicate with employees and managed different group of people to work together as a team
for completion of specific task. Employees issue, problem and recognition can be done through
use of linked ID for better satisfaction and retention of individual within firm.
You tube: It is one of the best social media that can be used to provide standard training and
development program to various individual within firm so that quality of products can be
maintained and customers needs can be satisfied (Klewes, Popp & Rost-Hein, (2017)). Company
can use you tube videos to aware employees about company culture, trends and long term vision
and goals of firm so that they can feel valued and important part of organisation.

Yammer: It is another great way that contributed in effective internal communication between
employees in real time at the same time reduce amount of emails daily in workplace.
Therefore, Tesco manager by using all such medium can contributed in effective communication
and exchange of information among employees for overall achievement of goals (Yarali,
(2020)).
