operation can be rectified and improved. It considerably enables to enhance the yield of an
organisation. In this assignment, TESCO has been considered while ensuring the connection
between strategic management and leadership has been explained. Plans have been developed for
effectively dealing with a situation that the organisation may encounter in future along with
quick methods has been used to review the requirements of the current leadership.

Various methods of leadership are used in varying conditions depending upon the seriousness of
the situation. There are five styles of leadership that are practised concerning the time limit and
severity of any condition. The various techniques of administration have been explained below:
Autocratic style of leadership: In this form of the command, the power of making
decisions depends solely upon the leader. The leader is given sole authority in this style
of leadership. This style of leadership is adopted when the time for taking a decision is
less. This form of the command is also termed as authoritarian leadership. Democratic style of leadership: This form of the command is also termed as participative
leadership. In this style of administration, the employees of an organisation are involved
in the process of making decisions; however, the final decision is finally made by the
leader (Anderson and Sun, 2017). The movement of data, in this case, is up to down. Laissez-faire style of leadership: In this form or manner of command, the leader does not
supervise the employees while making decisions. The decisions are made by the
employees in this case without any guidance as the leader only makes resources available
for making decisions. This style of leadership is adopted when the situation is not much
critical, and there is sufficient time for making decisions. Transactional style of leadership: This form of command involves rewarding the
employees as well as punishing depending upon the level of their performance. Transformational style of leadership: This form of command involves motivating the
employees and aids them to overcome their weaknesses such that the level of their
performance can be leveraged (Amanchukwu et al., 2015). The leaders are responsible
for the implementation of change and encouraging the employees to perform better.
