INTRODUCTION
The present project report shows a description of problem related to training program in
the company. Tesco is one of the leading retailer brand of UK. It was established in 1931. in
present it is operating its stores at international level with more than 460000 employees. The
assignment shows various problems that occurs in Tesco while conducting training program
along with their causes and various actions that can be taken for recovering the problems and
improving training program in the company. Further, it also shows evaluation of the approaches
used for solving the problem.
TASK 1
A) Identifying problems exists in the business.
While conducting the training program, it is a difficult task to appoint a professional who
could able to train each employee of the company efficiently (Sreenivasan and et.al., 2018).
Further, employees of company does not have much interest in taking training for various
gaining knowledge about new things, conflict between employees and management regarding
conduction of training program in the company, etc. are the major problems faced by the
company for conducting the training program.
Along with this, it could be said that, there is improper management of operations and
ethics in the business environment which would have negative impact on the employee
satisfaction and management of practices to retain profitable gains. However, if the employees
are remaining untrained and uniformed regarding the operational practices that it has negative
impact on the productive growth of the business. Moreover, they would not become able to deal
and communicate the products, its features, usefulness as well as importance among the buyers.
B) Analysing the business problem
Business problems like difficulty in employing professionals for providing training,
results in reducing the quality of training program conducted by company. That can fail the
company in improving their skills and knowledge. Further, lack of interest of the workers in
attending training program, results in failure of conduction of the overall training program of the
company. In addition, these problems may lead in failing the human resource managers of the
company for their plans of developing the workers as a multi-tasker.
Similarly, in relation with improving employee potential as well as productive efforts on
which there is necessity of managing the operational practices and making a reliable

ascertainment over their desires. Thus, their motivation would have relevance with monetary
benefits, career development as well as due to personal needs. Therefore, it is being required by
the professionals that they must understand and fetch the information regarding desirable needs
of employees. It would be beneficiary in motivating them for the organizational activities as well
as having effective productivity.
C) Diagnosing causes of problem
Problem of employing an efficient professional that could provide effective training to
the employees causes due to diversification of working in the company. A single professional
fails to provide efficient training for each working. Thus, they need to appoint various experts in
this regard. Further, the lack of interest of the workers in attending the training program is their
mentality that attending training program will enhance their workload for the day. The variation
in culture, society and ethical values have impact on the team management in an organization.
However, it is the main cause which is required to be resolved by the professionals’ stated in the
firm. It can be done through increasing employee influences in the general meetings, conferences
as well as annual meets and awarded ceremony. Thus, such events and programs would impact
on environment and there would be more interactions among employees. Along with this, there
is requirements of breaking the hierarchical approaches which are being adopted by the
organization as it affects the communication system in the entity. Removing such barriers would
have positive impact on raising the team efforts as well as completion of work within a precise
time limit for a job.
D) Confirming understanding of others about the problem
For the purpose of analysing the problem and their seriousness, the human resource
managers can conduct a meeting with the senior managers and directors of the Tesco (Lin and
Peng, 2018). Further, in order to confirm the understanding about the problem, HR managers
can communicate with each employee and take their views regarding the training programs held
by the Tesco. This communication of HR managers with seniors and employees can help the
managers in understanding the problem in an effective way.
E) Comparing different solutions to problem
For the purpose of solving the problem relating to the training program, human resource
managers of the company can develop various solutions. In this context, the HR managers first
should develop the plan to reduce the hectic schedule of the employees. Further, by improving

F) Agreeing upon a solution
As per the view of (Vu, 2016), reduction of hectic schedule from the employees would
help the company in eliminating the mentality of employees about enhancement of workload due
to training program. Although, in contrary to it (Are, 2017) says that this technique will result in
suffering loss by the business due to reduction overall working of the organization. Therefore,
employees would have time for their personal life as well as will show some creativity in their
work which would be profitable for the organization. Thus, it would have positive influences as
there would be positive changes in the operational practices of the organization. Reducing the
working hour would be beneficiary in terms of bringing the psychological satisfaction among
employees on the basis of which they will remain motivated towards the job.
Further, (Sreenivasan and et.al., 2018) says that developing new techniques of training
program conducted by the business will improve the quality of providing training by company.
On the other hand, as per (Vu, 2016), this technique will enhance the cost of company.

B) Explaining reason behind choosing approach
If the HR of the company creates a list showing need of various professionals, it will help
them in recruiting the appropriate professional trainer for the Tesco. Further, choosing the best
technique of training after analysing several techniques will help the company in developing the
most appropriate technique of training and enhancing the attention level of workers towards the
training. Moreover, analyzing the qualification of candidate who are trying to apply for a post
would require the HR professionals in making a relevant ascertainment over the education, skills
and experiences retained by the person. The suitability of an individual for a specific job role can
be determined by making a better analysis over their resume. However, bringing appropriate
training to them would be effective in enhancing their skills, creativity and interest to perform a
specific task.
C) Explaining analysis of solving the problem
For the purpose of analysing the effectiveness of plans developed by HR in solving the
problem, HR shall implement the developed plan. Further, HR shall compare the actual condition
of training program of the business with past condition (Training and Development Challenges
and Solutions in the Workplace, 2018). In addition, they shall also take feedback from the
workers in this regard. It will help them in having better analysis of the plan.
D) Allocation of roles and responsibilities to support plan
For the better implementation of plan, several roles and responsibilities of the business is
needed to be delegated. For implementing the present developed plan, responsibility of creating
list of professionals needed as trainers shall be given to senior managers of the company. On the

other hand, the responsibility of analyzing several techniques should be given to research and
development department of business. In addition, role and responsibility of taking feedback from
employees shall be delegated to HR of Tesco. It is the main responsibility of HR professionals in
analyzing the capabilities, skills and qualification of a person and assigning them the duties
accordingly, Thus, the right person to the right job would bring the profitable gain to the
organization. The time and costs implied for the completion of a tasks would be reasonable.

solving the business problem.

plan in that context as well.

A) Evaluation of approach to solve business problem
Various approaches developed by the HR of Tesco like recruiting professional trainers,
improving training techniques, bridging gap between company's objectives and worker's personal
interest, all are effective for the company (Vu, 2016). With the help of each approach, the Tesco
will become able to improve the training program and enhance interest of worker's towards
training program of company as well.
Rewarding employees on the basis of their performance and productive efforts made by the
firm would be effective in motivating them towards their job roles. Thus, this materialistic
motivation would result in creating a positive competition within the organization. Therefore,
employees would show interest in making efforts as well as in retaining the adequate amount of
gains in the relevant time period.
B) Evaluation of other approaches that can be productive
Along with these approaches there are some other approaches such as incorporation of
practical learning approach, providing personalized training to each employee will help the
improving the efficiency of workers in learning new things from the training more effectively.
Along with such planning and strategies which were being implicated by the professionals in
Tesco to improve the employee motivate and interest there are various measures which are
required to be undertaken. Int includes the approaches such as Contingency approach, systematic
approach and high-performance working. Similarly, improving the industrial potential based on
improving employee moral through rewards and recognition, flexible working hours, efficient
pay-offs as well as relevant materialistic needs. Increasing their faith over their productive efforts
would be possible if company appraise them on the basis of their performance such as bringing
appropriate incentives and bonuses
CONCLUSION
From the analysis of above assignment, it can be concluded that problems of training and
development program is an essential problem of the business as it affects the performance of the
business. Further, with the help of developing and implementing various approaches, HR of the
Tesco can resolve the business problem in an effective way.
