Assignment scenario.
Assuming that you are a corporate consultant at Deloitte LLP. Your company offers
various consulting services ranging from conducting internal and external analysis, strategic
planning, strategic implementation and strategy evaluation to companies in many different
sectors. At the moment, your company is having an order from company A operating in a
particular sector (which will be specified by your course tutor and each class will be assigned

a different sector to avoid plagiarism).
The CEO of company A wants your company to help them carry out a comprehensive
organizational audit including assessing both its internal and external environments. Based
on these analyses, they also wish to have some recommendations on which strategy they
should pursue in the future.
Your responsibility is to find relevant data and information from trustworthy sources,
process them rationally and present the findings and strategic suggestion as a formal
strategic report, which consists of three main parts:
Part 1: External analysis
Part 2: Internal analysis
Part 3: Strategic planning and evaluation
Assignment 2 is the part 2 of the required strategic report.
Note: Each student should choose one specific real-life company working in the targeted
sector and they must register their chosen company to the tutor to get approval before
proceeding with their assignment.

General introduction: the chosen company, main purposes and structure of the work.
Main contents of the report:
1. Identify the strategic capabilities of the chosen company by using at least two of the
methods including: benchmarking, the value chain & the value system and activity
system.
2. Carry out the strategic capability analysis by using VRIN/VRIO framework to assess
which strategic capability(ies) can be a basis to achieve sustainable competitive
advantage.
3. Based on the internal analysis above and other credible sources of information;
identify and analyze the main strengths and weaknesses (S & W factors from SWOT)

A conclusion to summarize all the key findings and analysis must be presented. Plus, you can

I. Introduction
After analyzing the external factors affecting the Tesla company in recent years, and
coming up with different strategies to help the company develop production plans and predict
situations affected by those factors. In this report, as a consultant for Tesla Motor Company, I
will point out the internal factors that influence the company's vision and production strategy.
Thanks to these factors, the company has achieved many achievements in recent years. Besides,
by using many different methods as well as VRIO framework to be able to clearly analyze these
factors.
