INTRODUCTION
The management is the process to control whole organisational activities in order to complete
the all objectives and goals. Leadership is referred as the abilities of an individual to influence
and motivated others so they can contribute in the success of organisation. Leaders as well as
managers ensure the smooth functioning of organisation. In this report the chosen organisation is
Tesla which deals in the electric vehicles and clean energy. The organisation is founded in
July1.2003 and headquarter is situated in the California, United States. 70,757 employees are
working in the organization. In this report, various roles of leader and managers and various
approaches are being discussed in the context of Tesla.

P1 Definition and roles of both managers and leaders and differences between management and
leadership
Managers: Managers is defined as a individual who are responsible to manage all organizational
functions. Managers has power to hire, fire discipline and monitor performance as well as
appraise employees. He has charge over the specific department and on people who are working
in it(Adnan,and Valliappan, 2019). Basically, the primary aim of managers is to exercise all
managerial functions. Managers of Tesla is responsible for planning, leading, directing,
controlling on the other hand, he has managing skills to manage business to get better.
Roles of managers: Managers have various roles and responsibilities within the organisation to
ensure the smooth working of Tesla. These roles are discussed below:
Manager's role in the Tesla is to find various relative information’s by scanning the
environment and other internal as well as external factors. He monitors all aspects
then manage organisation accordingly in order to get desirable outcomes.
Manger of Tesla also have responsibility to motivate, inspire and maintain effective
communication with all level of organisations employees to procced all function in
efficient manner.

Entrepreneurial role is very important of manager to create and innovate new process
in order to increase performance and attain all goals in planning phase.
Leader: leader is the individual whom guide and influence other employees and team members
to follow them in order to achieve all defined goals and objectives. He mobiles other people to
perform in defined manner through follow leaders efficiently. He has high skills and capabilities
that help to lead staff to get better outcomes (Bush, and Montecinos, 2019).
Roles of leaders: There are various roles and responsibilities that are undertaken by the leaders
in order to motivate employees and conduct organisation in defined manner. Some of roles are
discussed below:
leaders have the responsibilities to coach and guide employees in right direction, so
they can accomplish their assigned task within time (Chadwick, and Leigh, 2018).

Situation 1 hiring employees: As Tesla is a multinational organisation that adopts proper
recruitment process in order to hire appropriate and suitable employees that are able to complete
their assign task with efficiency. In the procedure of hiring managers of Tesla have various roles
to identify vacant position and ensure that these positions are filled with the suitable candidates.
After their selection leaders use various leadership theories to guide and motivate them to
perform their task effectively and efficiently. Managers plays important role to take hiring
decision of most suitable candidate for respective organisation that facilitate organisation to
attain all goals and objectives in efficient manner.
Situation 2 launching new stores: In the current scenario Tesla expand its business by opening
new stores at different places. In the process launching new stores managers and leaders plays

Managers collect all necessary data and information’s and manage them in effective manner to
achieve goals. On the other hand, leaders motivate and inspire employees by giving monetary

that lead the organisation to attain all goals and objectives.
So, all effective management and leadership help the organisation to complete their goals on
defined time period. Various leadership and management theories and concepts facilitate Tesla to
face difficult situations in effective manner.

Strengths are the internal wealth of the Tesla the support the it to grow in the competitive
environment, enhance the performance and facilitate the organization to achieve goals on the
other hand weaknesses are the organisational insufficiencies that affect its(Perozzi, 2019).

leaders of organisation directly interact with their followers and enhance some leadership
qualities in their personality. Respective organization allows various ideas and motivates them to
take part in the decision making process(Von Kutzschenbach, Mittemeyer, and Wagner, 2017).

organisation conduct various operations. These operations are depends upon the size and
structure of organisation. Tesla conduct various operations such as define different roles of every
person at each organisational level, make coordination, ensure proper utilisation of human and
other resources, ensure smooth functioning and determine authorities at all hierarchical level of
company.

Tesla completes various types of operational functions that are necessary to run the business in
effective and efficient manner(Breuer, and Lüdeke-Freund, 2017). Manager of organisation
ensures that all these functions are being done in their defined manner. Smooth and effective
functioning leads the respective organisation towards the success.
Marketing: Marketing function is referred as the activity that are undertaken by the Tesla to
promote their buying and selling of the respective products and services. It the important
function that is able to increase and profitability of the organisation by advertising, promotions
and personal selling. Managers of Tesla are responsible to select the best channel of marketing

factors. They have to change their organisational policies and procedures according regulations.
Environmental factor: Economical factor includes various interest rates, employment and
