After attending online workshops that aimed for academic success on the date of December 6,
2019, by seminar the instructor McCrea, Gwendolyn I gained some essential knowledge
regarding the pathway of success in academics. Attending the online seminar, I learned to
prepare as well as study for the best results in the test.
I learned that it is important for me to start studying early. The skills of the academic studies
together include the strategies followed by efforts as well as student preparation. It is important
for me to develop effective methods of study for a better outcome as well as for getting the best
results of the tests. I learned some of the most effective as well as efficient skills for improving
my study traits of habits from attending this online seminar. I learned that I should focus more on
the time I am comfortable in. Like being a morning person, I should focus and utilise the
morning time for studying, which will result in better understanding of gaining knowledge.
Furthermore, I should also focus on the area I am comfortable while studying.
During my study at home, I should focus on studying at the dining area since sitting in a straight
posture will help me to concentrate more on the process of studying. The library is another good
place where I can focus on my study since it will be free from any sort of distraction. The
seminar which I attended highlighted several factors such as taking breaks within long hours of
study helps in better understanding of knowledge, penning down notes and information is
essential during the lectures. Finally, it will be fruitful for me to practice in re-writing notes and
organize the skills I learned for remembrance.

Regarding the context that how I will use these learnings, I got from the online seminar attended,
I will adopt the self-test technique method with the inclusion of defining vocabulary and concept
listing during my study process. I will also bracken chapters of the study and write down their
summary for studying in a more better and effective way. I will furthermore adopt in writing
questions of essay, practice from the textbook for a better process of the study. I also realised
that I need to have a good amount of sleep before my test day for reducing my anxiety.
I will use the methods and the strategies I learned from the online seminar for improving my
study skill, specifically by adopting the technique of self-testing. I will use as well as practice the
study habits of learning by taking notes, revising them as the strategic habit of the process of the
study. This is because these tools and techniques of the study, which I learned or gained from the
online seminar regarding the success of the students will definitely help me to become the best
test taker.
